| March 18, 2006 02:16 p.m. |
The cowboys should tell T.O. to take a hike, We should
not have anything to do with him.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:16 p.m. |
I THINK JERRY JONES AND t.o. DESERVE EACH OTHER.THIS
SHOULD PUT THE FINAL COFFIN PIN IN PLACE FOR TWO LOSERS
!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:16 p.m. |
Wow! 'Ol JJ just guaranteed the Cowboys Nation an
exciting 2006 season... that much is certain!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:15 p.m. |
I think Jerry, TO and his agent should all celebrate
with a hunting trip to South Texas. Cheney around?
|
| March 18, 2006 02:15 p.m. |
With everything being equal it all boils down to
chemistry and he is 0 for 2 in that department. This is a
big mistake for the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:15 p.m. |
Based on the kind of man Jerry Jones is, this deal does
not surprise me in the least. But I cannot believe
Parcells would stoop so low as to accept this
unfortunate turn of events. Congratulations, Cowboys,
you just signed the player with the least class in the
NFL.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:14 p.m. |
So long Keyshawn Hello T.O.!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:14 p.m. |
very poor judgement....desperate coach and owner.....why
would management support the behavior from a "child"
like T O? T O needs a spanking in the worst way.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:14 p.m. |
Who cares ! Can you please put something worth a crap on
the web page.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:13 p.m. |
Just what Dallas needs...another hot head, showboater. I
miss the days where you could be proud of the Cowboys.
It's such a shame that Jerry Jones has ruined the
integrity of this team and cast a cloud over Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:12 p.m. |
I thought Jerry had more class. Signing T.O. cheapens
any success the Cowboys might have.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:11 p.m. |
TO is an offensive catalyst who will provide the spark
needed for success. Understand he is quirky and don't
try to change him. Allow him to show up at practice,
meetings, and games. He will do his thing and go about
his business. Outstanding move!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:10 p.m. |
As a life-long Eagles fan, I sure hope Dallas picks up
T.O. Then he's your problem!!!! Good Luck with that.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:09 p.m. |
Count me out of going to any games this year...Jerry - I
hope you're happy. You just got an old receiver that
everyone loves to hate. If he doesn't get you a
trophy... SELL THE TEAM TO YOUR SON!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:09 p.m. |
This is a win-win deal for Dallas. Nice job, Jerry!
Today is a great day for Cowboys fans ... sure Terrell
stood in the star -- that's because he's always longed
to be here.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:09 p.m. |
Perfect deal, Jerry Jones and T.O. deserve each other.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:07 p.m. |
If you watch the "teams" ever year that win
Championships, you will not find many T.O.'s anywhere on
the field. There is a reason for that. Football "teams"
can win some games during the regular season with T.O's,
but for the most part, Playoff time is "team" time!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:07 p.m. |
If they get him I hope they loose every game. A jerk
just like the owner.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:06 p.m. |
They are sure making it a challenge to remain a Cowboy
fan. They say winning resolves all problems. The guy who
coined that phrase never had TO.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:05 p.m. |
We'll Im not sure he'll be here that long either. I
don't think the fans will ever embrace hiw being a
Dallas Cowboy. I think it is a sad dat in the history of
the Boys.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:04 p.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 02:04 p.m. |
Owens, JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:02 p.m. |
One jackass joined to another. TO and Jerry. How
fitting.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:02 p.m. |
Bill must be present at this announcemnet
|
| March 18, 2006 02:02 p.m. |
I have been a Cowboys fan since I was in diapers,
through hard times and the good, always a fan. Bringing
T.O. here is a mistake. He is a cancer who will wreck an
already weak and fragile locker room. Bill Parcells and
Jerry Jones are sacrificing this team to "just win now."
If he comes here I will not be a fan anymore. I will
trash my many jerseys, t-shirts, and toys. I will not
support a team who sells out to just win now. Any
victory will be a cheap and hollow victory...even a
Super Bowl win. NO T.O.!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:01 p.m. |
I hope this is an "April Fools" joke!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:00 p.m. |
I wonder will Drew Bledsoe feel pressure to be a
consistent performer now.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:59 p.m. |
How can anyone not love the controversy that surrounds
T.O. as well as the fact that he is the best receiver in
the NFL. Bring it on T.O., cause the anticipated
trouble, just make sure you score a helluvalotta
touchdowns in the process.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:58 p.m. |
The NFL is a business and the name of the game is
winning, there may be some unhappy Cowboys fans today,
but when he scores that first touchdown and runs to the
center star to celebrate they will be celebrating with
him.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:57 p.m. |
I'm sitting here reading all of the "so called" Cowboys
fans who are quitting on the team, and can't help but
laugh. Go ahead, throw you memorabilia away, find
another team, but don't come back. T.O. is a jerk,
everyone knows that. But if you are willing to throw
away all you ever rooted for because of how he acted in
the past, then good ridance.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:56 p.m. |
Athletes win football games. The Cowboys need athletes
an T.O. is definately that. Everyone who is going to rip
up their season tickets . . . send them to me and I will
give you my Vanderbilt season tickets. I will watch the
Boys win a title and you can go see a bunch of "swell"
guys get pummeled every week.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:55 p.m. |
dumbest thing I ever heard to hire the guy who
embarrasingly put the football on the star at the 50
yard line of Texas Stadium showing how little respect he
has for the game and the players. Jones should be
ashamed.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:55 p.m. |
It won't be long before T.O. starts to fillet his
teammates. I fully expect him to destroy this team.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:54 p.m. |
One good thing. Maybe it will drive Big Bill out of
town!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 p.m. |
Owens can be a cancer in the locker room and for the
team.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 p.m. |
All these fans who are whining need to chill out. They
are the same ones who whine when we go "3 and out".
Welcome to Big D T.O....now go out and put up big
numbers!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 p.m. |
Were going to the Super Bowl!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 p.m. |
Great pickup, no one can question his work ethic. I
believe he was humbled by being deactivated last year.
Parcells will keep him in check. Owens also may have had
legitimate beefs with two other head cased in McNabb and
Garcia.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 p.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 01:50 p.m. |
My first thought when I heard that Owens was possibly
going to be signed ny the Cowboys was disbelief. How
could they sign him after what he did to embarass them
by standing on the star at midfield. All I can say is --I
have been an avid fan of the Cowboys since their
inception in 1960--but if the Cowboys do indeed sign
Terrell Owens and forget about their principles than I
have watched my last Cowboy game. There is a time to
stick to your principles and this is one of the
times---DON'T SIGN Terrell OWENS----rather than doing
this what the Cowboys should do is not make any trade
that they can (I would trade half the team) to get the
draft rights to draft Vince Young as their quarterback
and they will win many super bowls with him as
quarterback.GO AFTER VINCE YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:50 p.m. |
LISTEN TO 1310 THE TICKET FOR THE LIVE NEWS
CONFERENCE...
|
| March 18, 2006 01:49 p.m. |
I can't believe the Cowboys are going to sign that
low-rent, low-class, trouble-making waste of talent.
After being a Cowboy fan my entire life(42 years), I
will never again watch or attend a Cowboy game. The
front office doesn't appear to care about the character
of the team so why should I care about the team at any
level. It's a shame they choose to put such a blemish on
the legacy of the Dallas Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:49 p.m. |
HEY, here's an analogy for you morons with this "What
kind of a person stops rooting for his team over one
person" talk. Imagine if you found out that your wife
was cheating on you. Now imagine that you had to give
that other man room and board in YOUR house. Would you
be seriously resigned to that fate? Com'on. Screw that.
I've been a Cowboy fan starting in '89. Of course now
it's ending in '06. And no, I'm not going to lower
myself to rooting for this jerk. And by the way for you
"Look at me, I'm a real Cowboy fan I'll stay no matter
what" type of folks try as hard as you can to stay out
of prison. Cause we all know what kind of role you'd be
filling.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:49 p.m. |
This is the dumbest thing Jones has done since getting
rid of Jimmy Johnson.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:47 p.m. |
i have a hard times with the signing of owens. his
behavior at cowboy stadium sticks in my memory. the
cowboys dont need any problems in the locker room.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:45 p.m. |
Where in the world did this idea come from? Dallas
Cowboys are a class act! We don't need something as
distractive/disruptive as T.O. and his shinnanagins to
kick start the orginazation into a winning, Super Bowl
Team again!! I had rather watch them go to 0-wins/rock
bottom and build up from there, as to hire something as
pathetic as'Super Stuff T.O.'for a mediocre team (Forget
the Super Bowl). I am glad Tom Landry doesn't have to
hear this! It will take a special plane for all the
baggage T.O. brings to the games.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:44 p.m. |
I am skeptical of signing Owens, but now that Keyshawn
has been released, it's a no brainer. As an avid Cowboy
fan, and even though I have hated TO for the Star
celebration, he is now a Cowboy and I am a TO fan, for
now anyway!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:42 p.m. |
I think this an excellent signing for the Dallas Cowboys
and the fans. T.O. is the best reciever out there,
regardless if he mouths off, you can't argue skills.
Give Bledsoe time and he'll get T.O. the ball. Even then
you could throw it up and he'll go get it. I don't care
what anybody says about him, everyone in Dallas will
start liking him if he gets us to the Super Bowl like he
did Philadelphia.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:41 p.m. |
Here's hoping George Teague is at the press conference
to run up on stage and blast his ass again. All I know
is, the headline in the paper tomorrow should be
"Cowboys sign Owens, Lose Thousands of Fans to Free
Agency". Good riddance Cowboys. This die hard fan just
kicked the bucket with you. You are now all that is
wrong with professional sports.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:41 p.m. |
I used to love the Cowboys and football in general, but
I've hardly watched football at all since Jerry Jones
took over. That's a long time. I'll probably watch even
less now that no-class Jones has signed even-less-class
Owens. Thanks Jerry, for breaking me of my addiction and
giving me my Sundays back!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:40 p.m. |
What's that old saying... a smart man learns from his
own mistakes, but a wise man learns from the mistakes of
others? I really thought this program took a HUGE leap
in the right direction last year. I didn't realize the
Cowboys were in such bad shape to take a risk like this.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:40 p.m. |
I would be very disappointed in the Cowboys if they were
to sign Terrell Owens. We do not need him or his drama
in Dallas, I do not know anyone who wants him here
playing for our Cowboys. He is selfish, overrated, and
trouble wherever he goes. This is a public stunt by
owner Jerry Jones who is always trying to get his name
in the paper. The Cowboys are worser off if we sign
T.O....
|
| March 18, 2006 01:39 p.m. |
Like it...from what I remember not to many Dallas fans
liked Deon until he played here so I see the same thing
happening here. Once he starts scoring TDs feeling will
turn.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:37 p.m. |
Jerry, Please.. Give us a break. Its like a slap on the
face to bring him here. You expect this "mouth" to realy
be a Team Player? Here is an idea, leave the STAR off
his helment and off his jersey's, everyone knows he does
not deserve it.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:37 p.m. |
Judging from the old TO we can expect him to beg Jerry
for more money, fight with Parcells, bash Drew Bledsoe,
practice some crazy touchdown dances and look pretty on
TV. That would spell trouble. But, if he wants to come
in and make winning a Super Bowl for the Cowboys his top
priority, then everything will be just fine. If they're
winning, Drew Bledsoe looks a lot better, Parcells
becomes a genius again, and oh-by-the-way, Jerry will
make sure he gets paid. Message to TO - take care of
this team FIRST, and I promise, they'll take care of
you.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:37 p.m. |
TBlow Everyone deserves a second chance TBlow had his
and promptly destroyed another storied franchise. TBlow
has continued to snub the NFL, refusing to be traded in
to the Ravens, and refusing to play except on his terms
period. We are supposed to learn from history that is
one of the reasons it is important. Common sense should
also play a roll in our decisions, lets use this
analogy, if a child saw a pile of leaves and ran up and
kicked them, only to find the leaves were barely
covering a fire hydrant, he would not kick the leaves
again. Why then do grown men continually and knowingly
kick the leaves and hurt themselves and their team over
and over again? It is time to turn over a new leaf and
leave the fire hydrant alone. P.S. doesnt everyone
remember who his agent is? Next Question? Mike Massey
|
| March 18, 2006 01:36 p.m. |
Might win a few games for us, but in the end, he'll take
the fun out of it with all his drama-queen bull-stuff.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:35 p.m. |
This is absolutely the worst move ever by the Cowboys.
Dale is right. Switzer was bad but this is absolutely
horrific. Philly went from the Superbowl to the toilet
in one year because of TO. What in the world is Parcells
thinking? After this it's now time for Parcells to go as
well. We need a long term quarterback not a million
dollar cry baby receiver. Absolutely terrible move that
will push Dallas even further away from that elusive 6th
Superbowl ring.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:34 p.m. |
One of my favorite Jerry Jones quotes: don't let your
money get mad. Obviously, he remembers too. Oddly
enough, there are now more reasons to bring in TO than
to leave him alone. I think the fact that his current
agent is on board with this move makes a big difference.
With Drew and Michael Irvin and Jerry Jones supporting
the move, I actually think he's going to be happy here!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:34 p.m. |
I'm like 95% of NFl fans that've watched Terrell Owens
act like an idiot, jerk, and basically royally show act
like an axx. The only thing that I do give him credit
for is his football ability, the rest of him gets a
minus credibility factor. With the possiblity of signing
him to the Cowboys, it's real easy to figure with if or
how he's to be handled. His agent Drew Rosenhaus (sp)
along with Owens himself should not think that they can
behave in the same manner they have previously with
other teams. Bill Parcells is the perfect coach to take
a chunk out of Owens rear and ego if he tries his
tactics again, and Jerry Jones will release him before
Owens can exhale if he challenges the organization.
Personally, I like Bill Parcells and have always liked
Jerry Jones (even with some of his decisions). I've
never cared much for either Terrell or Drew.
So.......we'll see if Drew baby and Terrell baby will
grow up and be men rather than babies and regain all the
respect and credibility they tried to force from those
they've crossed paths with before and failed miserably.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:34 p.m. |
i'm a cowboy fan until the casket drops....and while i
don't agree with his star antics...i do want my team to
win and be successful and i feel like he can help....
i'm more excited about the fabini signing to be
honest....
|
| March 18, 2006 01:32 p.m. |
We just bought another Super Bowl. All hail Jerry and
Bill. I know this has the ability to blow up in our
faces, but the risk/reward seems better for reward to
me. Mr. Owens is the greatest reciever of this decade.
He cant afford to continue to tick people off. Its
costing him too much money. This will work.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:32 p.m. |
If there are severe penalties against Owens for
disruptive behavior detrimental to the Cowboys, the
acquisition should be good. Otherwise, he will destroy
anything positive the team is building on.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:31 p.m. |
This ranks right up there with Jerry firing Tom
Landry...a direct slap in the face of the fans. Does he
really think we're that hungry for a title that we'll
accept the biggest moron in pro sports????
|
| March 18, 2006 01:31 p.m. |
T.O., I THINK THE SIGNING IS JUST WHAT WE NEED. A GO TO
RECIEVER IS EXACTLY WHAT T.O. IS. THANK GOODNESS JERRY
JONES HAS THE COURAGE TO SIGN HIM. WATCH ALL THE
TOUCHDOWN PASSES HE WILL CATCH THIS YEAR.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:29 p.m. |
It's hard to imagine that a bad apple like Terrell Owens
will soon wear the same blue and silver that bona fide
great players and good guys like Roger, Tony D, Manster,
Ken Norton, Emmitt and Troy made so famous. This is the
same guy who disrespectfully stomped on the Cowboy star
just three years ago, and there are now Cowboy "fans"
who welcome him with open arms. Do you people have no
pride?
|
| March 18, 2006 01:29 p.m. |
We don't need this thug. If Cowboys sign him I will no
longer be a Cowboy fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:29 p.m. |
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE. THE COWBOYS HAVE HAD A QUALITY
RECEIVER ALREADY WITH KEYSHAWN.TERREL OWEN IS A GOOD
RECEIVER,HOWEVER HE IS A HEADCASE.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:28 p.m. |
This is terrible. I thought it was bad when Jerry
brought in Deon, but this is worse. This is an insult to
Cowboy players and fans everywhere. Too bad he got up
after being knocked off the star. I hope the fans ride
him out of town on a rail before he disgraces the
uniform by wearing it in a regular season game.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:27 p.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 01:25 p.m. |
TO just needs to catch the ball, be a team player and
keep his mouth shut.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:25 p.m. |
If this is anything more than a one-year,
one-strike-and-you're out deal... and I fear that it
probably is more than that... I am no longer a Cowboy
fan for as long as Jones owns this team. He has
officially destroyed any class this organization might
ever have had. Mind you, I've lived in Dallas all my
life, and been a Cowboy fan as long as I can remember...
and I'm 31 years old.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:21 p.m. |
TO's former agent did not file a form letter for free
agency on time. That oversight cost TO millions of
dollars in leverage. He expected the Eagles would make
it right after he had the great year to put them into
the Superbowl. They said no and he became disruptive. I
expect he will simiarly elevate the Cowboys, but unlike
the Eagles, Jerry Jones rewards performance.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:19 p.m. |
My family and I go to Dallas and watch the Cowboys
whenever we can. We have gone to Oxnard the last couple
of years. Not any more if TO is on the team!!!! We have
lived the Cowboy dream for years.--How can we even enjoy
a win if it is done with a person like TO in the
spotlight? TO is for TO and not the team. The Cowboys
will not continue to be America's team with characters
like this representing them. Bad, bad move. Cowboys will
lose fan support.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:15 p.m. |
Well this is it. The final Jerry Jones Blunder for this
fan. I can not imagine a worse way other than the Tom
Landry firing debocle to tarnish the good image that the
cowboys built over so many years. I will not be buying
any tickets to cowboys games this season.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:15 p.m. |
If they sign T.O., I hope they lose many games and T.O.
becomes a disruption. Teams should not try to win at any
costs.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:14 p.m. |
I'll take it. Whatever gets us to the Super Bowl. I just
hope the Cowboys protected themselves from the
possibility of his antics in the contract.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:14 p.m. |
Every time you begin to think that Jerry Jones has
matured a little in his role as a football general
manager (as opposed to open checkbook owner, where he is
superb), he does something really boneheaded like this.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:10 p.m. |
What a blast. If TO plays like TO and learns to be a
good teammate then it is a steal for the cowboys
|
| March 18, 2006 01:07 p.m. |
Stupid is as stupid does. I will never forget what he
did to the star. Never. I can not be a cowbay fan with
someone on the team that is poison.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:05 p.m. |
Instead of dreading the addition of this "cancer," 'Boys
fans should be optimistic that Parcells can handle a bad
attitude or two. Sure, T.O. may be a little punk, but he
is the best reciever in the NFL. Give T.O. the ball to
make T.O. happy, and T.O. will take that ball and make
us happy... with some playoff wins.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:04 p.m. |
I hope it was a short deal. I think he's amazingly
talented, with a lot to prove, but he 'is' 32. I think
he'll be on his best behavior this year. I think we
could do really well with him... plus he'll buy into
Parcells' coaching. Beyond 2006, it could be as painful
as when Deion was here.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:03 p.m. |
Public enemy #1, I can't stand that guy. Hate him, hate
him, hate him. What? He's a Cowboy? Poor guy is just
misunderstood, where do I get a jersey?
|
| March 18, 2006 01:02 p.m. |
Great, just keep him in line...this is his last chance
|
| March 18, 2006 01:01 p.m. |
What a bunch of fickle people. Let me ask you something:
When this knucklehead runs to the middle of the field
and stands on the star after scoring, will you applaud?
|
| March 18, 2006 12:58 a.m. |
I just viewed Dale Hansen's report on the signing of
T.O. Hansen threatens to have more to say about the
siging if if does happen. He's already said all he has
to say about it! So if it is the dumbest thing that
Jones has done since signing Switzer, then so what! It's
Jerry's team, not Dale's and Jerry can do whatever he
wants with the Cowboys. Jerry's job is to sell tickets
and Cowboys merchandise and he's done a magnificent job
doing that. If Jerry wins another Super Bowl along the
way, well that's just gravy on top of the other three
that he's already won. Dale has received millions of
dollars over the years reporting on the Cowboys. Hansen
should stop whining already with his empty threats. In
the end, what Hansen reports on the Cowboys will have no
bearing whatsoever on what Jerry does with his team. All
of Owen's ranting last year made him null and void with
the Eagles. Hansen's ranting are no better. Does Hansen
really "pray" that this signing doesn't happen? Gee
whiz! How shallow! With the state of the world as it is
today, why does he waste his "prayers" on something like
this? Dale has done great work with the Dallas Can!
program. He should spend more time praying about this
program, where he can make a greater than impact, than
praying about what Jerry Jones does with his team.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:57 a.m. |
Signing T.O. is like giving a freight train loaded with
nuclear weapons to Osama Bin Laden. The destruction is
going to be widespread and random. And yes...I DID
mention T.O. and Bin Laden in the same sentence. In
fact, I'm pretty sure that Drew Rosenhaus is the agent
for both.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:56 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 12:56 a.m. |
I hope the team has a good chaplain if reports of a deal
are true because someone just sold their soul to the
devil. Problem is between T.O. and J.J., who's the
bigger sell-out and which is the bigger devil? This
could make being a Cowboy fan harder than it's ever been
to be Ranger fan.

Just what the Cowboys needed. An impact player!! I see
nothing but good coming out of this. Now if they can
just get Arrington!!

THey are stupid. He may give them a good year in 06, but
will be a burrden in 07 when he doesn't like anyone on
the team

As a 56 year old fan from the beginning of the
franchise, I have lived and died with the Cowboys, and
stayed with them through good times and bad. I even
named two of my dogs "Dallas" and "Landry." Having never
completely forgiven Jerry Jones for the way he handled
the firing of Tom Landry, he is an idiot if he thinks
most true Cowboys' fans will welcome T.O. to the team.
For me personally, if Owens does join the team, as long
as he wears the star, I will not root for the Dallas
Cowboys. Jerry Jones will have made a tragic mistake
adding this cancer to the locker room!
|
| March 18, 2006 12:45 a.m. |
A press conference with Terrell Owens, Drew Rosenhaus
and Jerry Jones will cause so much hot air that it may
dry up this rainy weather.

I am very excited. Superbowl here we come.

You've got to be kidding me. The guy is a pig. If they
sign him, I'm done with professional football.

Don't need Terrell don't want Terrell.....perioid!!!

|
| March 18, 2006 12:36 a.m. |
Let's see the Cowboys pick up the most talented receiver
in the game...no brainer you fix his attitude which
Parcells can absolutely do, and you win. What's the
downside, the Cowboys missed the playoffs last year,
they miss the playoffs again? They did that without
Owens.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:34 a.m. |
I am 53 and have been a fan since I was knee high. I
grew up in Waco. I am more incensed by the signing of TO
than anything they have ever done. How could JJ sign him
after the way he disrespected us when he played for San
Fran? As a fan I feel stabbed in the back.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:34 a.m. |
I quit watching the Cowboys a long time ago. I am not
entertained by egotistical professional athletes. It
won't be long until the people of North Texas are as
sick of this drama filled athlete as we were of Michael
Irvin. They are both men without an ounce of character.
They are NOT role models for my children and we will
continue to NOT watch the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:31 a.m. |
In addition to T.O., they better look for upgraded
talent in free agency, the draft, or possible trades
this upcoming year. Right now, it looks like Washington
and the Giants have come out ahead in the NFC East...
|
| March 18, 2006 12:30 a.m. |
The cowboys have needed a player with an ego for some
years now to make the team a balanced unit. And T.O.
will have his best years in Dallas. Also I'm really glad
to see all the untrue cowboys fans removing themselves
from supporting the team. T.O. is cool and a real
disciple of Michael Irwin. Signed True Cowboy

HIM I SAY.

Another showing of the lack of class by Jerry Jones,
just when I was getting interested in the Cowboys again.
If they sign TO I will tune out.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:29 a.m. |
Thanks, Jerry, for demonstrating that you have no
principles, no sense of propriety, and no concern for
the wishes of the community you serve. Yeah, you (or,
more appropriately, Jimmy Johnson) brought us Superbowl
victories. But since then you have brought us only shame
and humiliation. I wonder what it would take to talk
Mark Cuban into buying out the Cowboys? By the way -
I've been a Cowboys fan all my life, but if you persist
in putting the cancer that is Terrell Owens in a Cowboys
uniform, you can kiss this member of the fan base
goodbye. I won't allow a penny of my entertainment
dollar to be spent paying the salary of spoiled rotten
overgrown child like T.O., and I'm even less inclined to
pad the wallet of an owner who thinks so little of this
city as to have it represented by such human dreck.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:26 a.m. |
Jerry Jones has sold his soul to the devil and Tex is
rolling over in his grave. If they sign hime then they
get what they deserve. I hope the City of Irving passes
the locker room tax so they get just that.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:26 a.m. |
Bringing "Terrible" Owens to Dallas would be a disaster.
Why don't we just paint a big dollar sign over the Star?
Mr. Jones should go back to what built the last great
teams, start with a good coach and young, talented
players, and get out of the way!
|
| March 18, 2006 12:25 a.m. |
Personally I can't stand T.O., but then again I hated
Deion Sanders before he became a Cowboy. Once you become
a Cowboy, then things change. I will root for my team no
matter what ego possessed player come to play for us as
long as he helps us win. Will the Cowboys offense be
better? Yes...
|
| March 18, 2006 12:23 a.m. |
I'm done with this team. Period.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:20 a.m. |
This is a messed up situation. TO has no respect for the
history of the game and Jerry doesnt realize he is
alienating the traditional fan base that goes back to
the days of Meredith, Hayes, etc. The world is truly
coming to an end!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 12:20 a.m. |
This crosses the line. We all know T.O. is a great
player and, barring his childish antics, will help the
team. However, where is Jerry Jones integrity. If some
guy stomps on my head or makes a mockery of my team and
house, I do not reward him by giving him millions of
dollars and letting him back in my house. When Tom
Landry was fired, I almost jumped off the Cowboys
bandwagon, but didn't. However, this straw has broken my
back and I will not be renewing my season tickets
because I am not going to let any of my money go to a
person who made a mockery of "my team and my stadium."
|
| March 18, 2006 12:19 a.m. |
I think it's great they got T.O. He will do wonders for
the team. He might as well have defacated on the star at
Texas Stadium and Jerry is waiting with the pooper
scooper. Nothing better on a Sunday than a Chiefs win
and a Cowboys loss. It's going to be a great season.

shoulda kept Keshawn and paid him the money...then draft
or free agnet a aWR of TO's size. Da 'boys are in for a
rough year.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:18 a.m. |
He will be great the first year. Then Dallas will wish
they never knew him. He becomes a cancer.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:18 a.m. |
This move will probably be a boom or a bust for the
Cowboys. Personally, I can't stand Terrell Owens and I
would never want him on my team. But if he stays out of
trouble, keeps his mouth shut, and helps the Cowboys
win, then obviously it will turn out to be a good move.
My initial judgment of the deal will depend on how much
money is guarateed. Any team that signs Owens needs to
be able to cut him without a significant hit to the
salary cap if he reverts to his normal childish
behavior.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:16 a.m. |
Im cautiously optimistic that he will sign with us. We
need a "playmaker" on the offensive end. Too many times
last year, the Defense held up while the offense couldnt
score more than one or two TDs. It doesnt help though
when people dont give him a chance. It doesnt help when
reporters are already saying he will divide the Cowboys.
Living here in DC and seeing what the skins have done,
Im welcome TO.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:14 a.m. |
I think Jerry made a mistake here! Football is a team
sport T.O. is not a team player!
|
| March 18, 2006 12:13 a.m. |
I LOVE the move to get TO. He will be just fine here in
Dallas, I agree that it is more of what tv has made him
look to the public. For all of you long-time Cowboy fans
who are never going to watch the team again are what we
call NON-FANS. You should all be ashamed to make one
player cause you to stop following a team you have
always loved. The only cancer I can see is the
judgemental Cowboy fan in this comment board.

How are they going to let him dicgrace the STAR. Then
wear one on his helmet???
|
| March 18, 2006 12:08 a.m. |
I hate the idea of TO coming to the Cowbyys! I have been
a Cowboy fan since day 1. I lived through the terrible
way Landry was fired, I tolerated Jones' ego when he
forced Jimmy Johnson out and cost the 'Boys a chance at
4 in a row. I almost cut the ties when he signed Barry
Switzer. But if Jones signs TO against Parcells wishes
and Parcells leave, then what coach in his right mind
will ever want to work with Jones? Jones is playing head
coach and playing with the 'Boys future to satisfy his
ego and I will not root for Jones. TO is a cancer and
should be cut out of the league for at least a year to
try and teach him some humility and send a message to
future TOs.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:07 a.m. |
I have been a huge Cowboys fan for all of my life. I
make at least two trips to Dallas each year to see them
play. I understand why a lot of Cowboy fans are upset
about TO playing for the Cowboys. What I don't
understand is why they would quit being Cowboy fans, and
root for other teams. If you are a true life long
Cowboys fan, then you will always be a Cowboys fan. You
shouldn't let one player make you change teams, or root
against the Cowboys. I think TO is a very talented
receiver. I hated and was sickened by what he did on the
star, and loved that George Teague laid him out. I have
not liked TO since then, and loved it when Roy Williams
hurt him last year before the Super Bowl. I would think
that TO would have learned that he needs to be on his
best behavior if he wants to remain in the NFL, because
if he blows up a 3rd team, no other team will probably
want him. I hope he has learned his lesson. He has been
a selfish player, but I think he should get another
chance. He has not broken any laws, he is not a felon,
like some of the players that are in the NFL. He could
really help the Cowboys, and help Terry and Jason, and
even Julius out. It will take more people to cover TO,
so it should open up the offense. Whether TO signs with
the Cowboys or some other team, I will always be proud
to be a Cowboy fan. One player does not make a team. To
all of the life long Cowboy fans who are going to change
teams go ahead if that is what you want to do. True
Cowboy fans will remain loyal to the team.

| March 18, 2006 12:06 a.m. |
No, no, never, no, no, please. Altho Owens and Jones do
deserve eachother.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:05 a.m. |
His talent and work ethic cannot be denied. And
obviously, Jerry Jones thinks that he will get the
Cowboys to the Super Bowl in the next year or two. But
his past antics, including that unspeakable crime on the
star and his destruction of his past two locker rooms
makes me wonder if he will doom the team just as much if
not more than he helps it.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:05 a.m. |
The Cowboys will regret the day they brought T.O. to
Dallas. He will be a distraction starting the day they
sign him and he will be a corrosive cancer in the locker
room from the first day fo training camp to the day they
release him. This time Jerry's risk taking backfires!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 12:04 a.m. |
Terrell has great athleticism. His concept of team needs
to a quick readjustment. I feel he will adjust because
this is basically his last chance. If he messes his up,
no one will ever put T.O on their roster again.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:04 a.m. |
good move for the cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:03 a.m. |
Jerry Jones said years ago that it's all about winning.
Too bad it's not about sportsmanship, morals, ethics. Oh
well I guess that went out the window with Tom Landry.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:02 a.m. |
The Cowboys and T.O. need each other. Every since T.O.
garnered the attention that catapulted him to the next
level of his career The star inciden t at Texas stadium,
his ego began to run neck and neck with the amount of
his catches. If this relationship doesnt work out, T.O.
is finished. He knows it and Jerry Jones knows it. We
did it with Haley, We did it with Deion. Now its T.O.
turn to turn around his career at the same place it
began to catapult. Oh, by the way Jerry has as ego too.
Thus the weakness for an occasional outcast. I think we
have a match made in Heaven - Jerry, Bill, and T.O..
Lets hope we have redemption as well.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:01 a.m. |
If he will score touch downs, be a team player and help
us win... I'm good with it.
|
| March 18, 2006 12:00 a.m. |
Just when you think Jerry Jones couldn't sink any
lower...
|
| March 18, 2006 11:58 a.m. |
I hope this doesn't monopolize the relationship between
Parcells & Jones. It is very evident that the talent
that the cowboys have acquired in the last 3 or 4 years
is due to Parcells. Jones & his staff did not show that
they could pick or develop good talent after Jimmy
Johnson left. Time will tell.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:57 a.m. |
Owens gives us the best chance to win. The offense needs
playmakers & Owens is a playmaker.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:57 a.m. |
By even considering adding T.O. to the roster
disrespects all the Cowboys that came before that
sacrificed for the TEAM to make the Cowboys the
franchise that it is today. I am dissapointed by this
line of thinking. B Beggs, Highland Village

| March 18, 2006 11:56 a.m. |
I am and have been shocked at the rumors, the
possibilities, and now the reality of Owens signing with
the cowboys.I, like any other cowboy fan want to win
badly. I am not the type of fan as to be naive to the
business side of football. Sometimes athletes and
coaches don't want to face the fact that their careers
are done. So, you have your departures like Landry,
Aikman, and Emmitt. While every fan is saddened to see
them go, the naive fan expects them to stay for another
ten years past their prime. It's the business side of
football that keeps things in check. It balances out all
the tough decisions while creating new ones. The tough
reality is that the cowboys need help. We have plummeted
to a level where mediocrity is our hope. With parity,
each year brings a new awareness of the fact that any
average team with a few plugged holes can compete and
maybe win it all. I love football! But at times I'm not
sure that I really enjoy the state of football. I desire
greatness! I wait through 1 and 15 seasons, through
every draft bust, through coaching changes, and all the
controversies for it. I am not naive to think that every
great player to ever wear a cowboys jersey will be on
the team forever, but their memories will be. And these
memories are the foundation to all cowboys fans. This
last draft, not neccessarily the season, is my hope for
greatness. While, the free agent signings (plugged
holes) provided a winning season and the possibilities
of the rise of yet another average team to win it all.
The young guys of Ware, Spears, and Canty added to Jones,
Williams, and Whitten are the makings of a great team.
We are at a crossroads, continue building or
plugging. The cowboys have not been successful at either
for the past ten years yet all of a sudden this past
season we had some success at both. Now, the signing of
Owens could add to the plugging hole theory of
success. But the hope of greatness still lies in April's
draft. And I like every die hard fan, though saddened
and extremely disappointed, will once again wait out
this latest controversy, even to forgiveness, for the
hope that lies ahead. P.S WE NEED TO DEVELOP (BY GIVING
GAME EXPERIENCE TO) A YOUNG QUARTERBACK!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 11:55 a.m. |
I will not spend another dime on tickets or merchandise
if Jerry Jones signs T.O. Owens is a disgrace to this
wonderful sport, not to mention our children who idolize
todays athletes.

|
| March 18, 2006 11:52 a.m. |
The Cowboys may be the first team to structure a deal
that protects them against bad behavior by T.O. who is
not likely to gamble away his playing time again.
Terrell Owens success with the Cowboys depends
completely on how well the o-line can protect Bledsoe.
Jones & Parcells must improve the current group of
lineman if they expect to score points in 2006. A
perfect fit for this team is RT Jon Runyan, not Rob
Pettiti.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:52 a.m. |
If Terrell comes here and can be a RECEIVER and not a
DECEIVER....only time will tell.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:51 a.m. |
Do the Cowboys have any principles? Even if we win the
Super Bowl this year--it would lack luster. It just
wouldn't taste right. The guy is a jerk and a cancer.
What is Jerry thinking?
|
| March 18, 2006 11:51 a.m. |
We need a good reciever after releasing Keyshawn
Johnson, this would be good for the whole dallas
organization.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:50 a.m. |
The thought of TO in Dallas sickens me, but maybe
Parcells can keep him in line.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:49 a.m. |
T.O. is the player everyone says he is, but I think they
should pay Keyshawn the going rate for a player of his
caliber and keep him. T.O. is a gamble, but last year
the Eagles had no fall back play maker when things went
bad. Keeping Keyshawn would make our bet a lot safer.
Oh, and if this is a go-4-it year, we should already
have vinatari signed. Let's spend some money!
|
| March 18, 2006 11:45 a.m. |
Usally when the Cowboys sign a all- pro the player the
feeling is "good,he can help the Cowboys.".This feeling
is,"OOOOH NOOOO." I just hope Mr Jones has put "T.O"
clauses in his contract. I would love to be a fly on the
wall, when Parcells tells (To) to,"shut the F up."
|
| March 18, 2006 11:44 a.m. |
I think it's a good thing, if it's going to get the boys
back in the super bowl "lets roll" to know he has to
prove himself and if they give him the money he want,
then there shouldn't be a problem. let s play ball T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:43 a.m. |
you want to hope for the best, but let's face it, the
proof is in the pudding. he will blow up eventually.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:43 a.m. |
Growing up in Phoenix as a Cowboy fan in the 70's I have
been through all the good and bad times. When Deion
Sanders was signed I almost stopped support for the
Cowboys only regaining it when several right decisions
were made to not bring in more questionable character
players. Upon hearing the news that Owens was signed I
called my family together, asked them to gather up all
Cowboys paraphernalia, and announced that there would be
no more support from me for the Cowboys organazition
until the day Owens was no longer with the team. I hope
the fans who stay realize what serious consequences will
result from signing this self-centered jerk who places
himself before the team and more importantly the sport
itself. I for one will be looking for AZ Cardinals
tickets.

Players like "TO" are what make the NFL a stepchild to
college football. Most NFL diehards are just as ignorant
as "TO." Anyone who loves football and has a few brain
cells follows college, not the NFL. The last time I went
to a Cowboy game everyone I saw around me was scum, I
guess I would have been considered the same for that day
but I will not go back.

I have been a Cowboys fan for almost 40 years. There has
been good and bad but I have always been a fan and
supported the Boys. The arrogant, pompous and selfish
manner in which T.O. has behaved is disgusting. He is a
black mark for the NFL and for sports figures in
America. It is a shame that someone with his ability has
to behave in such a manner and this behavior is setting
examples to the youth of today that it is acceptable. I
can only hope that something goes wrong with this
potential deal and T.O. ends up with some other team, or
better yet, no team at all. If the deal with the Cowboys
happens,I guess since I now live in Missouri I will
become a Chiefs fan.
|

Love to have him. Watch he does for Terry Glenn and J.

Momma! Go get the Kodak. Jerry's about to riscue another

say. Next thang you know, he'll have the rest of his pen
in there too. I know, he's wun of us Arkansans.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:23 a.m. |
he's a cancer to any team!
|
| March 18, 2006 11:21 a.m. |
I've been mystified at the Cowboys' thinking on this.
Regardless of the player's talent, why would anyone
subject their team and fans to the corrosive effects of
his egotistical lockerroom presence and off-field
behavior? The Cowboys were only a decent kicker away
from winning the East last year and possibly a
first-round bye, and they're apprently willing to risk
everything on a player with a record of imploding teams.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:21 a.m. |
Big mistake. He will be a major negative force,
spreading bad vibes throughout the entire team.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:19 a.m. |
I have been a Cowboys fan my whole life and no matter
how much I want a successful season I do not the that
Owens is the answer. He is a cancer and will destroy any
chemistry the team has and spread fast. Please Jerry for
once listen to what other people are saying so we won't
be in the "I told you so" group like the 49'ers, Eagles.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:18 a.m. |
Owens isnt a child. He's not going to destroy the
organization. One man cannot do that. One thing he is
though is an extraordinary reciever that the Cowboys
lack. He'll be the go-to clutch player we've needed for
a while. Good signing.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:16 a.m. |
I used to hate this guy. Funny how things can change
with time! Show TO the money & love he so craves, then
kick his behind out the door after the Pokes win number
6! Great pickup if it happens. Cowboys forever!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 11:15 a.m. |
Give him the contract that will keep him happy. He is
worth it.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:15 a.m. |
I agree that this is a HUGE HUGE H U G E risk. But what
else is ou there? RECHE CALDWELL? a bunch of BUST
recievers that want more money than they are worth.I
think this HUGE RISK would bear even greater rewards if
there is any peace at all in the relationship. BIG BILL,
as he has said prior is TOO OLD FOR THUGS. But i dont
think that is T.O's M.O. I think he is a BRAT and a
Malcontenet that would benefit from the discipline of a
Guy lik Parcells. LT said that he felt so bad about the
way he behaved outside the football stadium, that he
PLAYED like it was his last game EVERY GAME, as to not
disappoint PARCELLS. I think we have a good opportunity
to have a very dangerous offence with TO and could, If
he is payed and enamored the way he likes... then he
will be FINE!!

|
| March 18, 2006 11:12 a.m. |

immediately. My favorite team in the NFL is anyone
playing the Cowboys!
|
| March 18, 2006 11:11 a.m. |
I could not believe my eyes and ears - releasing
Keyshawn and signing Owens. I will admit when Johnson
first came to the Cowboys I was not too excited - all
the rumors - his ego. But he impressed me - clutch
player - determined- loved to win - excellent blocker -
respected by his fellow players. But now he is gone and
we get Owens. Oh, Hell, NO!! Some memories just don't go
away and Owen's disrespect of our star on the 50 year
line is one of them. I have been a fan of the Cowboys
since Eddie Lebaron days - even have autographs from Bob
Lily, Chuck Howley, Dan Reeves, Walt Garrison, Too-tall
Jones - even have a Harvey Martin chinstrap. Not to
mention about a million Cowboys shirts. I want Mr. Jones
to know that if he does sign Owens, I am through with
his team. I will get rid of all the Cowboy merchandise I
own from the Jones era. Like the song says "my heroes
have always been Cowboys, but now they are Lions,
Cardinals, Rams, Dolphins - you get the idea. Good-by,
Campbell, good-by, Glover, good-by, Coakly, good-by,
Allen, Good-by Smith, good-by Aikman and now Keyshawn -
shame on you Mr. Jones. Sign Owens and I think Jones
will find alot more fans just like me - through his his
Cowboys. Sundays won't find me arranging my day around
kick-off time. It is one thing to want to win, but it is
another to sell yourself to the devel and slap your fans
in the face. And Owens is one big slap in the face.

Got to do what it takes to win, but...Here's what T.O.
needs to do for everyone to forgive and forget about the
"Star" incident and move on. On T.O.'s 1st touchdown in
TX stadium, he should run back to the "Star" bow down to
the "Star" and do that you're not worthy motion. Then as
he gets up, do that heart/kiss motion. If he does this,
all will be forgotten and we can move on to what really
matters -bringing a Championship back to Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:10 a.m. |
This is a risky business decision. T.O. is a great
talent and is great at distroying chemistry in a looker
room. However, morally the Cowboys should be ashamed of
themselves. To say that they are heading in a different
direction by passing on Randy Moss and now make a deal
with a locker room cancer is insane.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:10 a.m. |
I think this one will blow up on the Cowboys. There is a
reason T.O. does not have a ring, he poisons every team
he is part of.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:09 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 11:07 a.m. |
I've been a 'Boys fan for a long time, and still
remember going to Thanksgiving games looking for Ed Too
Tall Jones and Danny White. But, if they sign this clown
(T.O.), then I'll take a hiatus on rooting for them
until he's gone.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:04 a.m. |
I can deal with it. The Cowboys need some additional
firepower in their offense. This will help Jason Witten,
Terry Glenn and Juluis Jones. I have never had a problem
with T.O. except when it came to the off the field
issues and the media world flanning the flames day after
day. The one thing I fear is that Terrell may not have
learned his lesson, if a lesson was ever taught. I just
hope he comes back to football to prove that he is the
best receiver in the NFL and piss the sports media off
by not giving them negative ammunition to fuel their
headlines. Prove them wrong, T.O., just like they were
when they said Jerry and Bill wouldn't make it. T.O. is
the most exciting player in the NFL "ON THE FIELD". It's
the negative stuff off the field that detracts from his
greatness. Oh yeah, and the Star is waiting for you.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:04 a.m. |
The NFL is a business First, there's no loyality towards
the fans or to the city. It's about the money. So when
you look it in that manner, T.O. will be the best weapon
the Cowboys will have and will improve the team. Like
most fans, hell no I don't like T.O., but the
bootom-line is, I want the cowboys to win and get back
to being America's team. If T.O. turns out to be a pain
in the ass, that's Jerry's problem and then shame on the
fans for buying tickets.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:04 a.m. |
I've been following the Cowboys since I was a kid
growing up around the world with my Dad in the AF and
then I joined the AF and am still active duty. I watch
as much Cowboys as I can get(Desert, Bosnia, Korea, and
in the U.S. with Directv). If the Cowboys sign 'T'otally
'O'bnoxious I will reconsider my yearly subscription to
Sunday Ticket. I would rather lose without TO than win
with him. While I don not question his talent, as a TEAM
player he is vile and disgusting. I cannot/will not
forgive him for disgracing the star (even last year in
the end zone) and hope Jerry's ambition and greed does
not alienate those of us who have supported the Cowboys
long before he came into the picture. Begging, Andy
Schlachter USAF
|
| March 18, 2006 11:03 a.m. |
I dread that this might happen!!! I'm a long time season
ticket holder and want badly to get back to the SUper
Bowl. But I would rather not go back than go with T.O.
I'm strongly condiering NOT renewing this year and I
wish this was a way to protest this just to let Jerry
and the Cowboys know how much we DON'T want a person
lile T.O. Both Jerry and Bill stated in the past they
want people with strong chararter on thsi team. This
just goes to show you what hypocrites they are... I
don't agree with some of the sports people that say we
hate T.O. now, but will cheer him when he gets his first
TD. If I go to games, I will Boo him at every turn..
|
| March 18, 2006 11:03 a.m. |
For the first time I am not going to watch the Cowboys.
TO is everything that is bad about football and to have
him in Dallas will be a disgrace to the game real Cowboy
Fans love. I'd rather have a losing season than watch
kids learn from the bad manners, bad attitude and
tremendous lack of respect Terrell Owens has for the
Game and every teamate he's ever had. Count me OUT TO.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:00 a.m. |
I hope Parcells can handle this guy. If he can, the
Cowboys might go deep into the playoffs this year.
|
| March 18, 2006 11:00 a.m. |
Pathetic. Finally cleaned the place up with the
departure of Switzer polished it up with naming a Coach
who has a clue while trying to rebuild,...then sign TO.
A guy who spends hours in front of a mirror
choreographing routines so he can impress his family &
friends during his "me" moments. No one else is
impressed. 16-0 will not matter. TO is an embarassment
and the Eagles have got to be laughing and enjoying the
irony of a same division team picking this guy up.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:58 a.m. |
He's the best receiver in the league but carries a lot
of baggage. I think he will significantly improve the
offense as long as he keeps his mouth shut. As far as TO
making them Superbowl contenders, maybe, but the Cowboys
need to pick up a defensive back, preferably a safty.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:53 a.m. |
He is like a cancer and will ruin the team. Dallas will
make a huge mistake if they sign him to a contract, and
I personally think so little of him as a man and a
player that I will not watch them anymore. The Cowboys
should have more character than this.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:53 a.m. |
That's nice Jerry- get rid of leaders on the field and
in the locker room such as La'Roi Glover, Keyshawn and
Dan Campbell. Then bring in a cancer like T.O....Jerry,
are you trying to destroy the Cowboys?????
|
| March 18, 2006 10:51 a.m. |
If baby Owens apoligizes for defaming the greatest
symbol in sports, the Star, I will be more willing to
accept him. If not, I will boycott all Dallas Cowboys
gear. I forgave Jones for firing Landry, but this is too
much. I would rather find another team than have that
maggot on my squad. Not everybody wants to win at all
costs.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:51 a.m. |
don't know right now, but once he puts on that uniform
I'll be in his corner until the end.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:49 a.m. |
Speechless, Disgusted, Disappointed... yet extremely
intrigued!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:49 a.m. |
Neither Jerry Jones nor Bill Parcells will be able to
keep outlaw Terrell Owens from decimating the locker
room, team cohesion, and fan loyalty to the team. Owens
has lost a step in athletic ability. Only his mouth is a
fast as it was in Philly.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:46 a.m. |
we should sign him and kill him on the Star
|
| March 18, 2006 10:44 a.m. |
I've been a Cowboys fan since their first year of
existance. Signing T.O. might be enough to make me an
ex-diehard Cowboy fan. If Jones wanted to go down this
route, he should have drafted Randy Moss. T.O. will be a
much worse distractor than Moss would have been. If
Parcells couldn't control Antonio Byrant there is no way
he is going to control Owens. Totally ignorant and the
wrong message to send to everyone including fans.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:44 a.m. |
I have been a Cowboys fan for 40 years. Getting t.o. is
worse than firing Tom Landry. I'm out.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:41 a.m. |
Jones and Owens should re-locate in Arkansas!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:41 a.m. |
I cannot believe that Dallas would even entertain the
idea. Dallas should be the LAST team considering Owens.
He is in the news more for being an idiot than he is for
his catches.. and it now seems that its OK to grandstand
on the star at center field. Just another bad marketing
move by Jerry Jones.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:40 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 10:37 a.m. |
Jerry and Terrell go together like each other. Jerry as
usual,Terrell should stay away from the COWBOY's
logo. And the team.Or maybe Jerry could feed him some
pablum at logo.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:36 a.m. |
I don't like the guy...but he is a great receiver. If he
learned something from his lengthy suspension he could
take us to the next level.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:34 a.m. |
I am a 46 yr old male who has been a Cowboy fan since
the age of 6. If the man who stood on our star now
becomes a teammate, I will never watch or attend another
game. Instead I will work harder and smarter so that I
might own the Cowboys and bring back the honor and
integrity that Jerry Jones and Family have now
successfully destroyed.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:34 a.m. |
There's nothing wrong with Terrell Owens. ESPN and the
rest of the sports media has made an example of him
(probably because he treats them like dopes) but he
hasn't done anything that other NFL players do all the
time. It's a story created by the media, perpetuated by
the media, and rekindled by the media. You can see that
in all the negative comments on this board -- everyone
is using the same words they use. Fine by me. When we're
in the NFC Championship game next year this will all
seem ridiculous (unless another correspondent goads him
into saying something he wouldn't have otherwise said).
|
| March 18, 2006 10:33 a.m. |
Can we sign a new owner instead???
|
| March 18, 2006 10:31 a.m. |
What, Bin Laden wasn't available?
|
| March 18, 2006 10:31 a.m. |
This is a real tough one for Cowboys fans. TO's talent
on the field is nothing short of awesome and that has to
be the driving force in Jerry's and Bill's mind. The
problem is TO is sweaty dynamite - Play with it enough
and it will blow up in your face. I pray he makes it
through at least 1 whole season before he tears the team
apart.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:31 a.m. |
Big Mistake! TO has great skills, he is not a Great
Player! Great Players improve the play of their
teammates. Where has TO ever done this? 49ers, Eagles?
Dont look for this to start now in Dallas. The Cowboys
will win games and make the playoffs because of TO but
in the end there will be no Super Bowl and a wrecked
franchise when it is over. Thanks a lot Jerry!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:31 a.m. |
Quick....get Dick Chaney down here to take Jerry Jones
quail hunting
|
| March 18, 2006 10:29 a.m. |
I would rather see the Cowboys go 0-16 than to see that
sorry SOB in a Cowboys uniform. What a disgrace. Jerry
Jones needs to do us all a favor and sell the team.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:29 a.m. |
If the Cowboys can win every game then he will be fine,
but once they lose one game then forget it, He will
destroy this team like he has ever other team he has
played for
|
| March 18, 2006 10:29 a.m. |
Might as well go be a REDSKIN FAN!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:26 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 10:26 a.m. |
I've been a fan since I was 5 years old...1965. If Jones
brings that egotistical piece of &% to Dallas, I've
watched my last game, listened to my last game and read
my last article on the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:26 a.m. |
If you listen carefully, you can hear the Eagles and
their fans laughing hysterically!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:26 a.m. |
Very bad idea. Almost and insult to us after he stomped
on the star. What does Jerry want us to look like?
Oakland and be the new "Bad Boy" image? So we can be on
every black gang members T shirt? Just to sell more
Cowboy appearal? Parcels is not going to like working
with him, I agree with Tim's comments the other day. TO
has no manors or class and will not be liked by the
general public and will get on the wrong side of the
media and then claim he is misunderstood by all bringing
his performace down because of the distraction. It
cheapens Dallas visually too.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:24 a.m. |
I'm so disgusted that I'm going to gather my Cowboys
gear and burn it the minute they sign the contract. Then
I ought to mail the remnants to Jerry with a suggestion.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:24 a.m. |
I LOVE THE COWBOYS !!!! BUT JERRY has stepped out of the
line. Why cant he just retire and let his son take over.
OWENS is a great player but a selfish player. MAYBE
JERRY THINKS HE IS GOD AND HE CAN CHANGE ANYONE.
WHATEVER... MAYBE this is just a strategy. WHO KNOWS. IM
Glad we still have PARCELLS. I cant believe he has
lasted. Well Im a true fan of the Cowboys not of Jerry.
Maybe we can all strike against Jerry so he can retire.
Well I wish Owens the best because it's not going to be
easy and he better have a speech for being accepted to
DALLAS. OTHERWISE there is going to be a lot BOOING in
the stadium. Another thing after the new stadium is done
will it still be the DALLAS COWBOYS OR ARLINGTON
COWBOYS. By then I think I am going to quit being a
Cowboys fan. GOOD LUCK
|
| March 18, 2006 10:23 a.m. |
Very poor choice but typical for Jones.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:23 a.m. |
dumbest move ever made by the Cowboys. TO is overrated,
self centered and will ruin the team chemistry. makes me
want to follow another team.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:22 a.m. |
If the signing of TO goes down, it's going to signal the
beginning of an season where it's going to be awfully
hard to be a Cowboys fan. No single player, coach, or
personality invokes the kind of outright hatred that TO
does. He embodies everything that is wrong with the
sport, from his egotism and arrogance, to the agressive
disresepect that he seems compelled to show everyone
that crosses his path. I'll still be a Cowboys fan, as
I'm not going to give up on the team because of one
player. We shouldn't let TO take that away from us. But
it's going to be hard. Another disturbing thing about
this signing is that Jerry Jones continues to build a
team with aging veterans at the WR position. Great,
another 33 year-old receiver huh? Not even a mention of
trying to admit the Drew Henson mistake and pick up a
solid, YOUNG, backup at QB. Maybe one day we'll quit
trying to get QBs on the cheap and pick up the next Troy
Aikman. I still believe that it is legal to draft a AQ
in the first round. Right??? TO, if you come to Dallas,
we will still root for our Cowboys. But we wish nothing
but failure for you, both in life and in your career. I
think we should all settle in and get ready for the
circus that's coming to town. It's gonna be a long year.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:21 a.m. |
What disgrace to the Cowboys organization.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:20 a.m. |
I think allowing this animal lose in the locker toom
will bring Dallas Cowboys down further, the Coach is
aging, Owens is toxin it's a mixture that brings doom.
Jones as usual wants to be in the news, cares nothing
for CLASS... been that way since he bought the Cowboys.
This is one fan who if Owens signs will tune out, turn
off and boytcott all things Cowboys... of course what
will Jones pathetic excuse be when Owens demands a new
contract....or throughs a fit... will he refund the
dollars to the fans who get ripped off while the Cowboy
freefall continiues???
|
| March 18, 2006 10:18 a.m. |
This breaks it. I will support another football team if
any at all. I don't want to watch a circus and I don't
want anything to do with Dallas Cowboys and that is
weird, but not hard to say. I used to love it, but Jones
is just about money. If he cared anything about
character and tradition of the game he never touches TO.
PT Barnum runs the COwboys until they no longer make him
money and then he's gone. I can never again believe him
that he's sensitive to the history. Its money period and
will never be different. Jones was a slick kid long
before he was a offensive lineman for Arkansas. Leopards
don't change their spots.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
I'm totally against it. TO is the sorriest player in the
NFL. Of course, like other wishy washy Cowboy fans, I'll
probably change my mind once he scores his first
toughdown.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
Well we might as well jump on this one cause we will be
regretting this either way..one if he plays for another
team hurting our secondary and 2 if we do sign him and
he acts up hurting our locker room chemistry, but I will
be really excited to have T.O. as a Cowboy and so will
everyone else that is saying otherwise.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
IF Bill P. is open to having T.O. on his team that only
can mean one thing: that he has had a long conversation
with T.O. about his attitude and what is expected of
him. Our coach would NEVER has accepted T.O. and the
potential downside under any other circumstance.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
Signing TO is an insult to the proud history of the
Cowboys. Roger Staubach, Too Tall Jones, Moose Johnson
and so mnay others were men of principle. Owens is an
egomaniac. Parcells and Jones should be ashamed of
themselves.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
How many rings does TO have? How much disruption (that's
being too kind) does he cause? Enough said.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
Funny thing is I bet T.O. will have a different attitude
after being sat for most of a season. ie. Keyshawn
Johnson, This will be a breakout year as a person,
because lets face it, he doesn't have too many more
years left and this is about one of 3 teams who were
willing to try him out. Pro bowl year and a super bowl
run.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:17 a.m. |
I would assume that Parcells has already spoken with
Terrell Owens and feels that the situation is tolerable.
He is a superstar and those might come around once in a
blue moon, so it is a good pickup.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:16 a.m. |
Real bad idea. A life-long Cowboys fan, I will not ever
cheer for anything that Owens does for the team.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:16 a.m. |
Wow, this is one of those pivotal moments in the
direction of a franchise. TOwens will either come in and
realize that this is his last chance at the age of 32
and respond well to Parcells leadership, like Keyshawn
and Glenn did, or he will destroy this team with his
selfish antics and bad behavior. I will find it hard to
root for a guy like Owens, especially with the image of
him in a 49er uniform stomping on the Texas star at
midfield back in his early days.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:15 a.m. |
I love the Cowboys, but I don't think I can stomach
this.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:15 a.m. |
I'm an Eagles fan and Owens was great in his first year
with the team. However, I remember two years ago, the
Eagles started something like 6-0 before getting killed
by Pittsburgh. If you remember, in that game, he was
going after McNabb. After that loss they won 6 more
games before he got injured by your boy Williams. So
they were something around 12-1 before he missed the
rest of the season. What will he do if the Cowboys are
5-3? However, I'd like to think he learned his lesson
and will play hard and not be a cancer.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:15 a.m. |
im terminating all ties with the Cowboys. Im now a
Redskin fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:14 a.m. |
In my opinion, Jerry Jones will be making the mistake of
a lifetime if he signs Terrell Owens. Owens has shown
the kind of person he is with past teams. I don't care
how good a player he is, you have to draw the line
somewhere. I have been a Cowboys fan since the early
70's, when we had Tom Landry, however I can't cheer for
someone like Owens,a man who makes a mockery of everyone
who disagrees with him. Jerry Jones could take a few
lessons from Tom Landry, a man who knew that it wasn't
just about winning. I repeat, I WILL NOT WELCOME TERRELL
OWENS!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:12 a.m. |
One more criminal to add to the mix. Never mind, I guess
America's Team has that reflection now anyway. I have
better things to do on Sunday's than be "entertained" by
ignorance.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:11 a.m. |
I agree with Dale Hanson on all but one point. This is a
horrible move for the Cowboys, but the Switzer hiring
will still be the worst. That cost Dallas a chance at 4,
maybe 5 straight Super Bowl wins, which is a record no
one would have ever touched. Owens helps on the field
and will probably propel the Cowboys to the playoffs
next year, but he's selfish, classless and not worthy of
ever wearing the famous star. I'd rather the Cowboys
miss the playoffs than to have to root for this guy,
even though I'm sure I will for at least 3 hours a week.
If I can make myself root for Deion with a star on his
helmet, I guess I can root for anyone.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:10 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 10:09 a.m. |
Great! Sticking it to Philly with TO will be a ton of
fun.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:09 a.m. |
Thanks for nothing Jerry Jones. You won't put Drew
Pearson in the Ring of Honor and now you bring a jerk
into town. You have no class and it shows.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:08 a.m. |
After the first touchdown TO makes in Dallas, he will
polish the star, and everyone will say what a great move
it was to bring to TO in...everyone will say, what a
great owner Jerry Jones has become. It's all about
business, win NOW, and if this TO thing doesn't pan out
in the next 2 years, release him. Dallas will make the
playoffs and you'll see everyone wearing TO shirts in
Texas Stadium, just like before with Sanders, Keyshawn,
and Haley.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:08 a.m. |
Jerry, you classless bonehead. Please step down.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:08 a.m. |
Hmmpf! Any superbowl win during T.O.'s tenure will be
considered his singular achievement, not the team's
success. Any chance Coach Parcells would depart from his
training camp tradition and make Owens his waterboy
instead of a rookie? A dose of humility would be a good
place to start! PS - Unforgiven for his antics on the
Cowboys' Star, Owens better not try that nonsense with
another team now that he represents the Cowboys!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:08 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 10:07 a.m. |
It's all about winning and who can and will help you
win. It's idiotic to keep harping on the fact that Owens
exhibited some tastless exuberance years ago by dancing
on the star at the center of the field in Texas Stadium.
The referee should have thrown a flag and penalized him
for taunting. Many athletes feel the impulse to taunt or
exhibit their superiority, prowess, one-up-manship.
That's a natural human impulse, like tearing down
Sadam's statue in difiance. There's no point in getting
stuck on stupid just because someone exhibits their
enthusiasm in a manner that offends our sensibilities.
We probably do the same thing to other teams, or their
mascots, without thinking much of it. Besides, athletes
are not paid for being smart, but, rather, for being
good at what they do. If the NFL wanted players to be
smart, they'd pay them more for their smarts than for
their athleticism. When we, as a country become smart,
will reward geniuses with a lot more than money than we
reward athletes. But as long as being entertained is
more important than intelligence, we'll keep making
athletes multi-millionaires and penalize genius by
turning down much needed grants.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:07 a.m. |
I'd say that the two deserve each other. Jerry either is
sly like a fox, truly desperate or has received word
from God that TO is fully redeemed and rehabilitated. I
vote for #2. T.O. essentially shot Dallas the finger
from our own 50-yard line, now he has the last laugh. I
wouldn't have thought that J.J. would take that as a
man, but as an NFL owner maybe that's what things have
sunk to these miserable days.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:06 a.m. |
Sad day to be a cowboy fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:06 a.m. |
If any coach can keep the ego in check and the player on
track it is Parcells. Let's hope TO feels he has
something to prove given last season's debacle with the
Eagles.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:05 a.m. |
I think that is is amazing that everyone is getting all
worked up about T.O. I guess everybody has forgotten
what happened with this team last year in game 16. They
gave up on their coach (if you call him one). Bill
Parcells has only one agenda on his mind, and he's
working it to perfection: To set the Cowboys back
another 5-7 years while he sits back and watches them
self-destruct in his big new house in NEW YORK! He's
past his prime (I don't really believe he ever had
it)...We need to get rid of PARCELLS first before anyone
gets excited around here. If you don't believe me, sit
back and watch!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:04 a.m. |
I think it might work out seeing this will be Terrell
Owens last chance with a NFL team! I think Parcells will
keep him in line!
|
| March 18, 2006 10:03 a.m. |
America's Team is now America's Nightmare. If Owens
could not get along with McNabb, how in the world will
be get along with Bledsoe.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:03 a.m. |
IT'S A ROUGH GAME ,SO, ANYTIME YOU GET THE CHANCE TO GET
THE BEST PLAYER YOU TAKE HIM. GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO
REDEEM HIMSELF.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:01 a.m. |
Life long Cowboys fan - I will be Texans fan
|
| March 18, 2006 10:01 a.m. |
As a Cowboy fan, "I hate me some me" for kinda liking
this deal.
|
| March 18, 2006 10:00 a.m. |
HOW FAR WILL THE COWBOYS GO TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP? JUST
THE THOUGHT OF CONSIDERING TERRELL OWENS AS A POSITIVE
ADDITION TO THE COWBOYS IS A TRUE SIGN OF DESPERATION ON
THE PART OF THE ORGANIZATION! THIS PRIMA DONNA DESERVES
WHAT HE GOT IN PHILLY AND IF JERRY JONES THINKS HIS
ATTITUDE WILL CHANGE HERE DALLAS, THEN I HAVE GOT 2
WORDS FOR MR. JONES " GO REDSKINS!" A MAN WHO HAS
PERSONALLY DISRESPECTED OUR " BLUE STAR" IN FRONT OF ALL
THE FANS NOW WANTS TO BE PART OF THIS TEAM! COME ON
JERRY! THINK ABOUT US FOR ONCE!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:59 a.m. |
Jones has gone too far. I don't care how good T.O. is,
he has no business wearing a star on his helmet. And
with Jerry making such a big deal about getting him
here, Parcells will have no leverage to keep him in
line. I don't care how many games the Cowboys win this
year, I will not watch a Cowboys team that puts T.O. on
the field.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:59 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:59 a.m. |
I want my team to win and win now. If it takes TO to
make it happen... then let it be. Im interested in
winning another championship. I feel TO can get things
done and give us a chance at another superbowl
championship. If he apologizes for his disrespecting the
Cowboys fans then I'm willing to forget...lets give him
a chance and see what Coach Parcells can do to help the
Cowboys
|
| March 18, 2006 09:58 a.m. |
Typical Jerry Jones...... This should signal the end of
the Bill Parcells era and the Cowboys will fall further
and further from playoff contention. TO should have the
lockerrom in total chaos by the end of september. I am
hoping for a total fan boycott.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:58 a.m. |
If anyone is ever going to sign this guy now is the
time. His ego has been chopped down to size and he will
be at his most managable. Give him a short contract, get
a couple good years from him and unload when his
attitude turns him back to the TO of the Eagles.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:57 a.m. |
Open letter to T.O. - You are in Texas now.... And even
better a Cowboy. We love your skills, even more so if
you bring us back to the promise land where we haven't
been since 1995. If you want to have one of the best
comeback stories in NFL history, show up the Eagles for
ever letting you go, and becoming a viable corporate
sponsor so you can make more green.... here is what you
need to do. Run your routes, catch some balls, put the
ball in the enzone. Leave Drew Rosenhaus in Philadelphia
(any other agent would have had you playing in the
playoffs last year)and please... Act like a man
(Remember, you are in Texas, not Punkadelphia), quit the
crying, and if Drew doesn't throw you the ball, shut the
f#k up, and catch the next one. It's that easy. Welcome
to Dallas, where if you screw up our team like you did
in Philly, you and your agent will not be found or heard
from again.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:56 a.m. |
Thank you Dale! I KNEW you would be the voice of reason.
I was absolutely appalled at the number of people
interviewed that were happy about this disrespectful,
narcissistic, trouble-maker becoming a Dallas Cowboy.
Having anything to do with the Cowboy organization used
to mean something, 99.9% of that organization was beyond
reproach, something to be proud of. Slowly, over the
years, the organization is becoming just like every
other organization, focusing only on the almighty
dollar, character means absolutely nothing. I don't give
a hoot what someone's stats are if they are a low-life!
"T.O" would absolutely be THE WORST decision Jerry Jones
has ever made and I HATE it that the Cowboys are even
entertaining the idea of bring him to Dallas to become a
Dallas Cowboy! I'm almost embarrassed to call myself a
Cowboy fan. I knew I could count the fact that you would
feel the same.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:55 a.m. |
I DO NOT like the idea. Terrell Owens is a neurotic
individual who only plays for himself. I think Jerry
Jones has no regard for anyone but himself. Maybe Jerry
Jones and Terrell Owens should also get married. They
are two peas in a pod! I have been a cowboy fan since
their inception but now they can go to hell!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:55 a.m. |
well lets roll the dice why don't we?
|
| March 18, 2006 09:55 a.m. |
It will be sad to have to give up watching the Cowboys
for three years.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:54 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:54 a.m. |
TO is easily one of the top three(maybe the best)
receiver in the NFL. He is also one of the biggest
distractions of all time. If he can keep the bullcrap in
check, he will be a huge success in Dallas
|
| March 18, 2006 09:54 a.m. |
Boys and girls this is going to be a wild ride!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:54 a.m. |
It is a disgrace. I take the celebration on the Star
very seriously. Even Emmitt made mention of it during
his retirement press conference. It will be a mistake.
TO only cares about TO. I will not be a Cowboys fan
anymore if they sign him. Jerry Jones might as well be
Al Pacino from the Movie the "Devil's Advocate."
|
| March 18, 2006 09:54 a.m. |
I think jery jones is stupid for signing Terrell Owens.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:53 a.m. |
Its about Superbowls baby! Sign T.O.! I'll trade a Star
for a Trophy any day of the week.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:51 a.m. |
Jerry Jones is making a big mistake. TO will tear the
locker room apart since there are no strong leaders.
This move will hurt the team for years to come. Let some
other team have the headache of TO.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:51 a.m. |
Owens is Not a team player (Never Has & Never Will Be),
as witnessed by his previous employers. Considering his
attitude, he should take up singles tennis. That way,
Owens has nothing but himself to complain over !
|
| March 18, 2006 09:50 a.m. |
Jones has been obsessing that he didn't get Randy
Moss--this is a death wish!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:49 a.m. |
we are the new raiders - we take all the rejects
|
| March 18, 2006 09:49 a.m. |
This is a mistake. The Cowboys are betting their near
future on Owens. What happens if he gets hurt or becomes
toxic in the locker room? Instead the should be signing
younger players who will be around for years to come.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:48 a.m. |
If they hire him to sale peanuts thats fine. Anything
else, is a sign of Desperation on Jerry and Bill's part.
He is not worth it and will no longer be the player he
once was. He will wind up injuryed and on the sidelined
more than on the field.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:48 a.m. |
It's a waste of money, and disruptive.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:47 a.m. |
Hmm..Maybe tbe "Star Incident" was TO's way of telling
us that he longed to be a Cowboy...that he felt at home
here. Nope, Jerry. I've tried every angle and I just can
rationalize this. I can't wait to hear you try at the
press conference.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:46 a.m. |
Terrell Owens is like crack cocaine - the effects and
benefits might look good, and you might feel good for a
while, but once you take it, you're dead or crippled.
Owens is pure cancer in human form.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:46 a.m. |
You can not deny that this is definately a risk worth
taking. Dallas as a team has struggled to get to the
next level. This signing gives big play capability and
increased sales. So, if he is as good as he has been
then it will pay off for the owners in the end. Jerry
needs more sales to compensate for the loss of revenue
he is going to give to "revenue sharing".
|
| March 18, 2006 09:46 a.m. |
Shame! This is the worst move Jerry Jones could make.
The Cowboys used to be a class act organization. If a
deal for Terrel Owens is indeed in the works this will
mark a low point in public relations in the Cowboys
history. I will not buy any Cowboy tickets or
merchandise.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:45 a.m. |
Regardless of how kissy face he and Jerry are at the
press conference introducing the "greatest wide out in
the game today", down the road in the heat of the game
OR if T.O. becomes pouty about some issue, the groans
and gnashing of teeth will be heard coming from Valley
Ranch. I stopped being a fan as soon as Jethro announced
that it felt like "Christmas to me tonight" and "Tex is
standing a little behind me now". I really don't care if
he wins 50 Super Bowls or none. I have pulled for ABD
(Anybody But Dallas) since 1989. I just like to watch
train wreck after train wreck at Valley Ranch, the House
of Landry and Schramm.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:45 a.m. |
LOLLOLLOL Good Luck with the idiot Owens. I can not
understand why any owner would be stupid enough to sign
this head case. He certainly will be a devisive force on
the team. I think Mr. Jones has really helped the other
teams in the division with this signing - the Cowboys
take another step backwords....
|
| March 18, 2006 09:44 a.m. |
Sad day in Cowboys history. He'll tear the team apart.
This is by far the worse move in Jerry Jones' history
with the team.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:44 a.m. |
I am very excited, however, scared what it will do to
the Cowboys. I bet Philly fans are happy because they
feel he will destroy our team. Short run it will work.
Long run I am worried. He is a great player, however
very misunderstood. He needs help. It is almost as if he
does not feel he has any friends or somethinkg like
that. It is pretty sad. Maybe we can get Super Nanny to
help out with his childish behavior? I am sure he was
never told no growing up...
|
| March 18, 2006 09:43 a.m. |
Not being a cowboy fan I couldn't think of a better team
to be his next victim.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:43 a.m. |
You have to "admire" a man, who would invite a convicted
armed robber felon into his home after the felon broke
into his other friends' homes. I hope that jones chokes
on his decision-he is already a pariah in this town, why
not build on that! Make a deal with greed and avarice,
and at what cost? Wait and watch....
|
| March 18, 2006 09:42 a.m. |
If Jerry Jones does, indeed sigh T.O. it will be his
biggest mistake since buying the cowboys. Maybe Jones
can forget, but the fans can never forget the sight of
Owens disrespecting the cowboys, the fans and the city
of Dallas by his actions in the star at the center of
Texas stadium. That is like someone slapping me in the
face and then saying "well if you can help me make a few
more dollars I'll forget it and we can be great pals".
|
| March 18, 2006 09:42 a.m. |
I tell you what, If TO gets any of the Cowboys, media,
or fans POed, this marriage, in the media's eyes, will
turn very very ugly and that's NOT what the boys' should
be thinking about when you have this kind of a talented
guy come to your team.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:42 a.m. |
Sickening...just sickening!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:41 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:41 a.m. |
If true, it simply proves with out a doubt the lack of
honor and class by the Cryboy organization.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:41 a.m. |
It has been reported to be a three year deal, If so as
much as I hate it, that is not bad. If we keep it to
three years 10 million with 4.5 to sign, I can live with
that. I dont know why everyone is so surprised, think
about when the last time sports was about loyalty and
not winning, I didnt think you could. If we win the
bowl, all of you will have Super Bowl Champion t-shirts
in your closet.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:38 a.m. |
Once again, it's a sad day for the Dallas Cowboys. Too
bad Jones could care less about the integrity of the
team. Sure Owens can play, but his attitude and ego will
bring the name of the Cowboys down. It's a shame you
can't get someone that the fans could respect and
appreciate their talent also.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:38 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:38 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:36 a.m. |
Awesome. We need a playmaker on Offense. As long as Tuna
can control him, which I think he will, we'll be fine.
It's after Tuna is gone that I am afraid about.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:36 a.m. |
Bill always has, and always will be able to keep these
types of ego's in check. Has everyone forgot when
Keshawn came to Dallas? He was suspended for the last
few games from Tampa Bay -just like T.O. He was selfish
- just like T.O. No team wanted him - just like T.O.
Even with all that baggage the Cowboys took a chance and
he turned out to be a pretty darn good player. Hmmm?!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:36 a.m. |
What! Jerry, you showed us your lack of class in how you
fired Tom Landry, your arogance in firing Jimmy Johnson
and now you are showing your stupidity by introducing a
cancer like TO to the lockerroom. TO is a great player,
but only sees ME in the word TEAM. Jerry, please sell
the team!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:36 a.m. |
As long as it's an incentive-laden deal which offers the
Cowboys protection in case of his "acting up", I believe
it's a win/win for both parties. The Cowboys need a
game-breaker on offense, and as for T.O., it seems the
two things that motivate him most are Money, and
Attention, both of which he can receive in abundance in
Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
It is a wait and see. I sure hope it works out?????? If
not everyone will being saying I told you so!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
After 40 years as a fan, I'm through. This is not worth
wasting any more words on. Enough said.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
This deal ensures Cowboys-Eagles on Monday night. It's
great for the value of the franchise, so it's great for
Jerry Jones. The team, however, needs a cornerback, a
pass rusher and a young, Pro Bowl left tackle, not a
32-year-old chronic malcontent.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
I am totally against the signing of Terrell Owens for
the Cowboys. Although he is an excellent football
player, his history has shown that his disruptive
behavior on and off field outweighs his usefullness on a
team striving to reach the next level. The Dallas
Cowboys have been my team for over thirty years. I do
not know if I can support any team (even Dallas) with
Terrell Owens on the roster. In my opinion, this is the
worst signing by Dallas that I can remember!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:35 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:34 a.m. |
Tom Landry will get up out of the grave and ask today's
owners to dissolve the team. This is a dark, dark day
for Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:33 a.m. |
I'm really growing tired of hearing about people's
disdain for Terrell Owens for the simple fact of the
star incident. How many of these same fans would love to
have Ricky Williams, Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis
and other convicted felons on their team? So we're going
to draw the line at somebody stomping on the star in
Texas Stadium? Give me a break! I'm as big a Cowboy fan
as the next guy, but if Parcells thinks he can handle TO
and they sign him to an incentive-laden deal, GO FOR IT!
Ten years without a playoff win is way too long for me.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:33 a.m. |
Great move. It was time to get a difference maker on the
team.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:33 a.m. |
This is proof that Jerry Jones should stick to OWNING
and hire a team manager.Terrel Owens will kill the
Dallas Cowboys with his self centered attitude. Look at
his last year with the Eagles. He was not happy so he
took it out on the WHOLE team, as well as not playing
with his full ability. This is what happens when you
elevate someone into thinking they are more than just a
team member.I can't see any way Bill Parcells would
think this is a good idea. He has put a lot into
building a good team that plays with a lot "we" not "I"
thinking. Football is a TEAM sport and without the
support of the team as a whole, Terrel Owens is just
another guy in a football uniform and nothing else. I'm
not looking forward to next season if this guy is on the
team. You watch, it'll start out hot, then spiral down
the drain as soon as Terrel Owens thinks he's not
getting enough attention.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:32 a.m. |
I would have taken Jevon Walker along with Keyshawn and
Terry Glen instead of ME.O. Just remember last year
after each touch down Keyshawn was handing the ball to
someone in the crowd that was not so fortunate,That was
the image I like for our team. Now instead we have to
watch the most stupid show off's after each touch down
by owns.The America's Team!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:32 a.m. |
He's a cancer in the clubhouse. He's going to destory
team chemistry.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:32 a.m. |
I love it. Owens brings another dimension to the
offense. Between Parcells and Owens, its like puting
gasoline with fire, i just hope somehow the organization
can contain the flame long enough to bring home a super
bowl.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:32 a.m. |
I have been a COWBOYS fan all my life. I take EXTREME
pride in what our organization has accomplished, & how
it is ran. I is a priviledge to be a pro football
player, it is an HONOR to play & represent the COWBOYS.
We've had our controverses... but that was FAMILY(Irvin,
Newton, Erik Williams... hell, the 90's). This franchise
means a whole lot more than football, to millions of
fans, & EVERY one of us fans FEEL a personal connection
with OUR team. THE team. The team GOD watches through
the hole in the roof... WE ALL BELIEVE in the COWBOYS,
we all LOVE our COWBOYS FAMILY. WE ALL remember the
INTENSE emotion we felt when this guy DISRESPECTED OUR
STAR! The PRIDE we bled when EMMITT scored right back &
reclaimed OUR star. & the LOVE we feel for GEORGE
TEAGUE, who will FOREVER in OUR hearts be a COWBOY, for
laying this clown out. I trust Jerry. We are LUCKY to
have Jerry as our owner, BUT HE DIDNT PROTECT OUR
HISTORY, OUR PRIDE, OR OUR TEAM. HE LET US ALL DOWN ON
THIS ONE. I will forever be a Cowboys fan...but even if
we won a super bowl with him, I would take to my grave
that we sacrificed our integrity to do so. Lets ALL
cross our fingers & hope for the best... (thank you for
letting us express how we feel, give MATT MOSELY A
RAISE!)
|
| March 18, 2006 09:31 a.m. |
What a mistake. He is a huge distraction on and off the
field. He should not be on a TEAM sport. Wrestling is
more his style. I will not support the cowboys in any
way if he is on the team ( disrespecting texas stadiun).
|
| March 18, 2006 09:31 a.m. |
He has been in the NFL for 10 yrs and won ZERO super
bowl rings - played for 2 teams and screwed them both
up. 0% return for 100% risk - is this how Jerry Jones
got rich?
|
| March 18, 2006 09:31 a.m. |
For crying out loud. That loser in Dallas. Sheesh,
Jerry, have some class. Oh, wait. Class from the guy
that sacked Tom Landry the way he did? What was I
thinking!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:31 a.m. |
It is upsetting that the Cowboys would even consider
T.O. knowing the kind of team player he is, or is not. I
know it's all about winning and sadly Jerry Jones has to
see the Cowboys as a business venture instead of
"America's Team" that I have have loved for 35 years.
Did we ever get an apology from T.O. for making a
mockery of the Star on the field? I don't think so, but
he'll sure take Cowboy's money. Hopefully, Keyshawn will
return and show T.O. what a "real" player is made of.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:31 a.m. |
It is a sad day when Jerry Jones prostitutes himself to
bring to the Cowboys the most selfish player in
professional sports, and that's saying something
considering Barry Bonds is still playing. My prediction
- Cowboys will never win with TO on the roster.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:30 a.m. |
I've live in Dallas my whole life, have grown up a
cowboy fan. (31 years). If T.O, signs to play here, I
will put all my Cowboy gear, shirts, hats, jerseys, in
the bottom drawer and PROUDLY root against them until he
is gone....yes, even in the Super Bowl!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:30 a.m. |
If Terrell Owens becomes a Cowboy it will mean that we
have sunk to an all time low. Nobody that disrespects
the Cowboys as much as he did should ever be allowed to
play for this team. I like the Texans, loved the Oilers,
but have always been a true Dallas Cowboy fan. I will
not follow them much at all after this.. Landry is
turning in his grave right now..
|
| March 18, 2006 09:30 a.m. |
I give up! Mr Jones is an idiot!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:29 a.m. |
He better be on his best behavior, the big Tuna will not
put up with his crap. BUT, if he can keep his mouth
shut, this season will be exciting.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:29 a.m. |
I am a life long cowboys fan who will become a supporter
of any other team, should the Cowboys acquire this
rodent!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:28 a.m. |
If the Cowboys sign Terrell Owens I will no longer be a
Cowboy fan. I'll become a fan of the team that drafts
Vince Young.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:28 a.m. |
I can only hope that Parcells can get TO to behave, but
I doubt that will happen. TO is all about TO and once he
has a game where he doesn't get the ball enough, he'll
go and pout on the sidelines. I see him being suspended
by the 6th game and deactivated soon thereafter. Jerry
gets too envious of talent and forgets about maturity.
I'm used to him making moves to keep us out of the
running for the Lombardi Trophy now.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:28 a.m. |
Even though he can make a huge difference on the field,
I do not want him on the Cowboys. I don't care how many
passes he catches, or how many touchdowns he scores, he
will always be the guy that dishonored our star. There
are not enough good things that he can do to overcome
that.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:27 a.m. |
IT WILL BE A DARK DAY IN DALLAS !!!!!! I've always known
that Jerry Jones has no character and this is just
another example of just how despicable he truly is. I
have been a Cowboy's fan for over 45 years but if Jones'
hires this idiot that will be the end for me. At some
point someone has to stand up and do the right thing, be
a leader, put the team and it's fans ahead of money or
winning at any cost. Because the cost to all of us will
be our pride. Pride in name that will be forever
tarnished if it happens. Ask George Teague what he
thinks about it. Ask Emmitt. This just stinks and any
true Cowboy fan will be hanging their head in shame. It
will be a dark, dark day indeed.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:27 a.m. |
He's just what the Cowboys need. Wonder if they can move
any sooner. Please help us Arlington. Build fast, and a
place for them to practice also. What a disgrace to
football. They might possibly be able to get lil Ricky
Henderson from Miami also.......Think Dionne is still
available?
|
| March 18, 2006 09:27 a.m. |
He's a very good player and will contribute to the
Cowboy's success but his contract must have some
stipulations re his conduct.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:27 a.m. |
As a lifelong 49ers fan and Cowboy-hater, I absolutely
love this move. Owens is a cancer and will destroy the
chemistry of this team before the season is over.
Parcells has made a decision that he will come to
regret.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:26 a.m. |
He should be barred from every stepping a foot into
Texas Stadium or any other stadium we may have. He
disgraced the entire Dallas Cowboys organization and the
fans and should not be forgiven.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:25 a.m. |
I think Jerry has lost his freakin' mind signing this
guy..... How can real Cowboy fans forget him mocking us
while he spiked the football on the blue star at
midfield.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:25 a.m. |
I think it shows that the facade that Jerry Jones has
put up the last few years, trying to pretend that he was
actually worried about team chemistry and unity is gone
in the puff of smoke that it was. He's remains the idiot
that I was trying to believe he had gotten over.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:25 a.m. |
I'm sure Michael Irvin will be thrilled, and the Cowboys
will be even more popular/despised than ever before.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:23 a.m. |
Great move! We needed a true #1 receiver and we got the
best receiver in the league. STOP CRYING ABOUT THE STAR
INCIDENT!!! This is a business! And winning is all that
matters! T.O. has learned his lesson & I believe he will
reform. I'd rather cheer for him scoring touchdowns than
boo him for scoring them against us. He will help the
the passing and running games. GREAT MOVE!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:22 a.m. |
Why not? If he can help us win a Super bowl and NOT be
disruptive then let's give him a chance for a new start.
A third strike against him would put him in NFL
purgatory for a long time. I give Jerry Jones and Bill
Parcells credit for taking a chance on an excellent
player.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:21 a.m. |
What are the depths to which Mr. Jones is willing to go
in search of a winning combination? I guess that the
concept of the owners, players and managers of
professional sports as role models is an idea whose time
is past. Yeah for Jerry's ego and pocketbook.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:19 a.m. |
Why would the Cowboys want this guy? So, his stats are
good but he has areal problem with his mouth.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:19 a.m. |
Terrell Owens is a disgrace to the game of football. I
have been a Cowboys fan for over 30 years. Been through
a lot of good and bad times. However, this is the most
boneheaded decision I have seen. Owen's negatives far
outweigh the positives (if there are any). He has proven
time and again he can tear apart a team from the inside
out---his own team! It's embarrassing as a fan to be
associated with an idiot like Terrell Owens. Is Mike
Tyson being courted as the new Director of Player
Personnel?
|
| March 18, 2006 09:19 a.m. |
If you can't beat em' sign em'! I think this willwork if
the cowboys just keep winning. Funny, how that seems to
make things ok...The cowboys will be in the spotlight
even more now that they have T.O. Jerry and Bill will
have their hands full, however, football is
entertainment and who better then the cowboys to be in
the spotlight. No question, the cowboys lost a few loyal
fans, however, you've got to look yourself in the mirror
cowboy fans, who do you really want in the super bowl
next year? eagles or the cowboys..think about it...

| March 18, 2006 09:17 a.m. |
If this is true this will be the worst public relations
nightmare for Jerry Jones since the " Jocks and Socks"
comment on Monday Night Football in the early 90's along
with the comment about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
being the pick of the litter. Terrell Owens is the
pinnacle of a spoiled rich athlete. He is all for
Terrell and only for Terrell with no regard for his team
or his teammates. If Jerry Jones wants to win another
Super Bowl so bad that he is willing to sell his
integrity and the respect of many die hard Cowboy fans
so be it, I will wash my hands of him. If this is the
kind of player Jerry wants to employ he should buy
Barnum and Bailey at least you know its a Circus not a
football team. Owning a NFL Team is a business but also
a Privelege that carries great responsibility. Jerry
answer one question please. What kind of lesson are you
teaching the young football fans of the Dallas Cowboys
by signing Terrell Owens? Winning at all cost is not
really winning SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:17 a.m. |
The Cowboy organization use to have such class and Jerry
Jones has succeeded in destroying that. He would make a
deal with the devil if he thought it would get him to
another super bowl...in fact, he probably has.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:17 a.m. |
The day the Cowboys sign Terrell Owens will be a dark
day in Cowboys' history. The Cowboys are "America's
Team". Terrell Owens is not an America's Team player. He
is a "Terrell Owens' Team" player. Will his addition
help the Cowboys win more games this season?
Undoubtedly. But at what cost? I predict that Terrell
Owens will continue to embarass himself and will now
drag the Cowboys' image down with him.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:16 a.m. |
I am very excited to see T.O. come to play in Dallas. If
you watch him play he gives it his all every play on the
field. That is all I ask for in a player. The other
stuff he does is strickly for shock value. Welcome T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:15 a.m. |
I will not be pleased if TO is really to be a Cowboy.
Although he is an explosive talent on the field, he is
equally as explosive off the field and could damage the
pshyche of a team that is fairly young. I think we will
see benefits from this early on, but will pay the price
in other ways long after TO is gone.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:14 a.m. |
Worst thing the Cowboys can do. They should have made a
push for Randle-El or David Givens...Terrible move by
this organization.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:14 a.m. |
I've been a Cowboy fan for 31 years (ever since I could
talk). If they sign that selfish, cancerous S.O.B., I
may NEVER pull for them again. Mr. Jones, you are making
a HUGE mistake. I don't care how good he is on the field
(and he is great), some things are more important than
winning championships.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:13 a.m. |
To the editor of sportsday!!! I'm a 46 year old male,
who has been a DALLAS COWBOY FAN now since I was 10
years old (1969) remember Dandy Don's last days with
team, and I'm about to do something I never thought I do,
and that is "BURN" everything that I have that has
DALLAS COWBOYS logo on it!!!! I forgave this ego maniac
(Jerry the idiot) when he disrespected Tom Landry the
way he did, in 1989. The two SUPER BOWLS in 92, 93 were
great! I forgave this idiot in 1994 when he brought in
another idiot to coach the team (Barry the bum, life
long LONGHORN FAN)and was pretty mad when Deion came in
here,(didn't really enjoy 95 SUPER BOWL felt like it was
bought), but this signing of T.O is the last straw with
me!!!! How in Gods name do you bring in a person that
has not only destroyed two teams already, but should I
mention the "STAR" thing and how he still was doing this
as late as last year (2004)? I really mad about this,
and all of my friends who have been COWBOY FANS (and a
few are season ticket holders) most of there life also
are pretty upset and talking about dropping ther season
tickets if this guy is brought in!!! My question to MR.
Jones is where does respect and loyality start, and the
greed for money stop!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:13 a.m. |
Hey Jones, you just created an accident, waiting for a
place to happen, ALONG WITH LOSING A HELLUVA LOT OF
FANS.......THIS ONE INCLUDED...Question? How did you get
rich, I know it wasn't from your brain, its the size of
a piss ant's brain.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:12 a.m. |
I have no problem with Terrell as long as he is
productive. I am one of those people that hated Dieon
Sanders before he became a Cowboy. But once he came to
Dallas and it worked out I was fine with it and the same
story will happen with Terrel coming here. Go Cowboys
|
| March 18, 2006 09:12 a.m. |
I am very concerned. Especially if it is a muti-year
deal. Owens really needs to behave, because if not, it
could be his last stop in his NFL carrer. I Think that
he knows that and will try to get his career on the
right track. But, I am not sure he can do that for more
than one season.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:11 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:11 a.m. |
Just another prime example of why I have only watched 2
Cowboys games in the last 10 years. When does college
football start?
|
| March 18, 2006 09:11 a.m. |
We (the Cowboys) know Owens b/c as coach Parcells says,
this team needs "catalytic players". I only hope that we
now add Lavar Arrington.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:11 a.m. |
This is the kind of March madness you get when your
owner thinks he's a football genius. 'Big' Bill is no
longer in control, if he ever was. When will the years
of mediocrity end? When Jones is out of the loop
|
| March 18, 2006 09:10 a.m. |
Ridiculous! Jerry Jones needs his head examined. Owens
is nothing more than a spoiled brat. I can't wait to
hear all the excuses Jones will make once Owens turns on
him. And it will happen because this kid will never
change.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:08 a.m. |
cant wait till it blows up in your face
|
| March 18, 2006 09:08 a.m. |
Clint Murchison, Tex Schramm and Tom Landry are rolling
over in their graves right now. How do you sign the guy
who spit on your image five years ago? This would be
like the Rangers signing Robin Ventura ... only about 10
times worse.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:06 a.m. |
Mixed feelings on that. He has a history of derailing a
team by his extreme selfishness and want of showmanship.
But he does have talent at that position, and can make a
mediocre QB seem good. And the Cowboys do need a
top-flight wide receiver. So I guess if the price was
low enough it could be a good move.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:06 a.m. |
Getting Terrell Owens will be a great move that I
believe has the potential, along with all the other
great players Dallas has, to put Dallas into the
Superbowl for the next several years. Terrell Owens has
been a problem but he has not been under the best coach
in the NFL who knows how to deal with hot dogs!
|
| March 18, 2006 09:06 a.m. |
I have tried real hard to be a Cowboy fan. Now I will
have nothing to do with any broadcast, any sponsorship
or any company remotely associated with the Dallas
Cowboys. Jerry Jones and T.O. do have one thing in
common..they both live their lives in complete denial.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:05 a.m. |
THIS HAS JUST PUSHED US OVER THE TOP LOMBARDI TROPHY ,
HERE WE COME
|
| March 18, 2006 09:04 a.m. |
Good Day Growing up I thought you were suppose to avoid
getting CANCER! How long will it take to infect this
team and bury it. Eagle fans gotta be laughing over this
one.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:02 a.m. |
This is a BAD move, what will the real Cowboy fan say
about this. BAD move
|
| March 18, 2006 09:02 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 09:01 a.m. |
I think we all need to loosen up. Sit back and enjoy a
Dallas version of the Titanic
|
| March 18, 2006 09:01 a.m. |
I thought I had seen it all. Having been a Cowboy's fan
all my life, I have never been as disgusted as this. If
he really signs, I will stop watching the NFL and stop
caring until both he and Jerry are gone. Tuna was bad,
but T.O. is worse. George Teague should be in the Ring
of Honor for his nailing Owens for that stunt. As far as
I am concerned, "Once you spit on the star, You should
not wear the star." Winning is not worth putting up with
what he represents.
|
| March 18, 2006 09:00 a.m. |
Disaster. Huge step backwards. Can we trade the owner?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:55 a.m. |
Dollars win out over class, unfortunately. This is a sad
day for the Cowboys. Then again, this IS Jerry Jones,
we're talking about.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:54 a.m. |
For the next two years the cowboys will have the best WR
in football & a motivated playmaker we haven't seen
since M. Irvin was here in his prime. Suddenly J. Jones
will now be running for 1,400 to 1,500 yards, Witten &
Glenn become more dangerous, and Bledsoe is in back in
the Pro Bowl. In short he makes everyone better & helps
take this offense to a new level. If Parcells can handle
LT, Bryan Cox,& Keyshawn Johnson....he will be able to
handle TO & motivate him to one of his best years this
season.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:54 a.m. |
Can't understand why the Cowboys want to destroy thier
team. After 37 years of being a fan. I am done with
them.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:53 a.m. |
Well - It will be Feast or Famine - nothing in between.
All we can hope for is a Feast - Super Bowl Feast that
is.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:53 a.m. |
This makes me sick. My 35 years as a Cowboy fan will end
the day that slime signs a deal with the Cowboys. It's
the equivalent of selling your soul to the devil Jerry
Jones. Hopefully, you're ready to pay the price.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:53 a.m. |
ANY team that thinks Terrell Owens is a good addittion
needs to have their head examined! He is the worst kind
of loose cannon you can have. Andy Reid and the Eagles
had it right to sit him down and then get rid of him. He
is an amazing talent, but is his talent worth his Texas
size ego? I don't think so! With his attitude, he would
better fit in the unemployment line than our line of
scrimmage.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:52 a.m. |
There's no room for two people - Jerry & TO - who want
sole credit when the "team" wins.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:52 a.m. |
If Vince Lombardi knew Owens, even he would say winning
isnt the only thing.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:52 a.m. |
I believe the signing is necessary. Hopefully T.O. has
learned his lesson and his agreement has something in
there stating that he has to be on his best behavior.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:51 a.m. |
This will make Jerry Jones about as popular as when he
fired Tom Landry. No further comment.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:51 a.m. |
GO AWAY!!! We DON'T WANT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:50 a.m. |
This is typical in today's "business" of football.
Winning at all costs has just hit a new low. Although
T.O. is a great talent he is a cancer that will at some
point begin to ravage this team unless his contract is
laden with incentives and disincentives AND if Parcells
has the energy to play the paternalistic role. I sure
hope that T.O. has grown up a little since last year,
but this remains to be seen. Some veteran leaders will
have to really step up and keep this team together. On
the other hand, it will be nice to see someone spread
the feild and give this offense some punch. That all
depends on whether or not Bledsoe can get some time to
throw the ball.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:49 a.m. |
We're going to the SuperBowl now Baby! Oh yeah!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:48 a.m. |
"Use your greatest enemy to battle your lesser enemies"
Jerry Jones hires T.O. to win a Super Bowl. In a related
story the White House has hired Osama Bin Laden to help
the in the war on terrorism in Iraq.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:47 a.m. |
I cannot believe that the Cowboys would even let this
guy in their front door, much less sign him. Obviously,
character doesn't matter to Jerry Jones. Anyone want to
take bets on how long it takes T.O. to start taking
shots at Drew Bledsoe? This has to be by far one of the
worst personnel decisions Jerry Jones has ever made. I
don't care how talented T.O. may be - he's not worth the
headache. It will only be a matter of time before the
team chemistry disintegrates. Nice going, Jerry!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:46 a.m. |
Great move. Come on he is a top 3 receiver he will
behave
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
Jerry Jones is an idiot. This is what happens to greedy
people who want to win at all costs. They sacrifice any
principles for winnig. Well, best of luck Jerry, b/c
you're going to need it. I don't believe someone with
such an inflated ego (T.O.) will ever be
controllable...as you will soon find out. And he's a
poor sportsman, so I won't be rooting for the cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
i am a longtime fan of the cowboys (about 35 years). i
am disgusted by the thought of TO joining this team. it
was hard enough for me to accept the deion sanders
aquisition. i don't like blatently self-centered
players. i am afraid that I will just completely drop
off of the map of cowboys fandom if they pull this deal
off. that thought makes me sick, because there are lot
of cowboys that i still care for. i despise TO and I am
about to lose a tremendous amount of respect for jerry
jones. signed, distraught in austin
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
I was really beginning to feel badly about how I'd
thought about Jerry Jones. He enjoys owning the team.
He's enthusiastic. This deal puts him back to Square 1.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
Owens caused a Super Bowl caliber team with veteran
leadership to implode. Why in the world would an
intelligent person think something different will happen
in Dallas. The definition of stupidity is doing the same
thing over and over and expecting a different result.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:45 a.m. |
GREAT!!! Terrell, Welcome to Dallas! I think for your
first touchdown celebration you should run to the star
in midfield and pretend to polish it. We finally get a
replacement for Irvin. Terrell is a proven playmaker
which is something the Cowboys didn't have last year.
With the respect he gets from defenses, he will open
things up for Glenn, Whitten, and Jones.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:44 a.m. |
Bring him on. We need the fire. T O is a great reciever
who stretches the field for everyone. He should make
everyones job on offense alot easier. The only thing the
bothers me is that he has only played a full year twice
his entire career! Can he stay healthy. As far as his
attitude, if he thinks he can upstage the Cowboys
legacy, the "NFL Don" Bill Parcells and Jerry Jones then
he is alot dumber than I thought.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:44 a.m. |
Great News for COWBOY FANS.... I am so glad Jerry Jones
has the "gumption" to go after TALENTED players...
Remember he went after Deion Sanders when he was a
contraversial player.... If I recall they won a Super
Bowl... All Terrell wants to do is WIN.. .and get paid
for it.... He is GOOD ENOUGH! Let's wait and see what
happens before we throw him under the bus... Great Job
Jerry!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:44 a.m. |
Typical stupid Jerry Jones decision. I will no longer be
a Cowboy fan until he is off the team
|
| March 18, 2006 08:43 a.m. |
I think it's a great idea. No matter what his past was,
it is the past. Remember what everyone said when the
Boys signed Keyshawn. Well he worked out pretty good I'd
say. I wish the Boys would resign Keyshawn also. Just
think what an offense we'd have with Keyshawn and T.O.
out there, along with Julius, Bledsoe, Terry Glenn. Now
that is an offense to be reckoned with.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:43 a.m. |
As a Raiders fan, I think this is great. Nothing makes
me happier than seeing the Cowboys fail miserably.
Everything about Dallas stinks.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:43 a.m. |
The Cowboys needed this to keep up with what the Giants
and the Redskins are doing in free agency. T.O. also
allows us more flexibility in the draft.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:43 a.m. |
Hell yeah, and he won't do anything but produce yards
and touchdowns, barring injury, because this is going to
be his last shot at any respectability throughout the
league. Plus, Jerry Jones and his management knows how
to handle characters like Terrell Owens. The Cowboys are
bigger than Terrell Owens, they will make it with or
without him, and if Terrell has any sense, he better
come into training camp, on time, realizing this.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:43 a.m. |
THat would be a horrible mistake.. No more Cowboy games
for me if that happens...
|
| March 18, 2006 08:42 a.m. |
OH MY GOODNESS!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:41 a.m. |
Jerry Jones is doing anything to fill the seats at Texas
Stadium since personally destroying a Super Bowl Dynasty
in the 90's. Although he made the Cowboys winners with
his original formula (thanks to Jimmy Johnson), he
quickly showed the football world that his inflated ego
and "Jed Clampet" bankroll is more important than
actually winning football games. This latest move, in
even considering a jack ass like Owens, only goes
further in proving that. Jerry Jones has proven over the
years that he is a loser and a whore when it comes to
filling the seats at Texas Stadium. He is a walking,
living testament to the fact that money cannot buy
breeding or class. May the ghost of Tom Landry (and
Jimmy Johnson) haunt Jerry Jones forever.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:40 a.m. |
Glad to see it happen...........Maybe now the rest of
You will realize what a scum-bucket Jerry Jones
is.............. bigtexfran@sbcglobal.net
|
| March 18, 2006 08:40 a.m. |
Hate it! Hate it! I don't care what he can do on the
field...it's not worth the all of the distractions and
the cancer he becomes for the team itself. The Cowboys
sre better off in the long run without him!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:40 a.m. |
Either a great move or a disastrous move.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:39 a.m. |
GO AHEAD AND SIGN T.O. I WILL TAKE ALL MY DALLAS COWBOY
ITEMS AND GIVE THEM TO GOOD WILL. I WILL WATCH ANY TEAM
BUT THE COWBOYS. IS THIS THE KIND OF ROLE MODLE THAT WE
WANT FOR OUT KIDS???
|
| March 18, 2006 08:38 a.m. |
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssss
|
| March 18, 2006 08:37 a.m. |
T.O. is a tremendous football talent with an ego the
size of TEXAS, so maybe the Cowboys will be a good place
for him to be. On the other hand J.J. has an ego larger
than the size of TEXAS, so it will be interesting to
watch the soap opera unfold. If T.O. is to be productive
in Dallas, Bill Parcells will play a major role in
T.O.'s success. T.O.'s biggest challenge is learning
that there is no "I" in TEAM! Best of luck to all.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:37 a.m. |
Bring him on. The Tuna has been here before and he can
handle it baby. As long as he gets paid more than
Terrell Owens, it will show that he is the man.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:37 a.m. |
Laughable, will never watch another Cowboy's game will
Jerry is the owner.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:37 a.m. |
As a fan of Cowboys, I like the it. I didnt like Owens
before, but now he's family. We are all Gods children.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:37 a.m. |
Are you kidding me? If Dumbass Jerry signs this idiot I
will burn all my Cowboys gear and denounce my alleigance
to the team forever!!! Do not sign this cancer!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:36 a.m. |
Not that anyone appears to be to interested, but I will
mark the Cowboys off of my entertainment list. I did
that with the Rangers the last strike and have
discovered that life goes on, and even better, and I
will discover the same with the Cowboys. I was present
at the very first Cowboy game and I guess I will have
lived to have seen my last, both in person and
television. There has to be more to life than me
watching T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:36 a.m. |
Good deal...maybe! Time will tell if this will work. I
am actually more excited about the signings of Kyle
Kosier and Jason Fabini that will help our passing game
tremendously. And now, that T.O. will be out there, I
can't wait to see what kind of year Jason Whitten and JJ
will have! This is good, guys!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:35 a.m. |
Redskin corners & safeties will shut him down just like
last year in Philly. You got nothin!!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:34 a.m. |
Hope Terrell Owens doesn't become a Cowboy, never forget
him standing on the Star during the game. But Jerry
Jones will do anything, just look what he and the City
of Arlington did to a neighborhood.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:34 a.m. |
I have been a fan for many years. Now I hope they lose
every game. EVERY GAME!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:33 a.m. |
It fits right along with what the cowboys have been for
years. A bunch of overpaid jerks, druggies,
women-beaters, absolutely horrible folks to have in our
community. But hey he was only dropped for "conduct
detrimental to the team," who cares if he can score
touchdowns for Jones then it's all good!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:32 a.m. |
Big mistake. I also don't understand the logic. We avoid
Moss and now we sign T.O.? He is club house poison. I
don't think the large egos of Jerry or Bill will be able
to keep this guy in check.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:32 a.m. |
Love it - he's an absolute cancer but if the Cowboys can
keep him under control for just a little while, I'm OK
with this!!! Woo hoo!!! And Cowboy fans, get over the
Star issue OK? It's showmanship and you'd have loved it
if Michael Irvin had stood on the Eagle in Philly. So
stop being hypocritical. Embrace this, this will be
good.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:31 a.m. |
The end of The Dallas Cowboys that we've all been so
proud of for all these years. I'd rather lose without
t.o. than win with him.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:29 a.m. |
from standing on the star to kissing the star all will
be forgotten when the cowboys are back on top
|
| March 18, 2006 08:29 a.m. |
I'm out. I will not watch. I predict mild short term
success followed by huge failure. The worst part is that
it will drive away the kind of fans you want to keep and
pull in the kind you don't want.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:27 a.m. |
Remember, keep your friends close but keep your enemies
closer. He is the best we can get now. Keep him in short
leash and if he didn't work out then dump him. Beside,
you got to get people a new chance.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:27 a.m. |
Great responses from Cowboy Nation, quick somebody find
George Teague!! Honestly, I still haven't fully
recovered from the debacle of Barry Switzer. BOOOOO T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:27 a.m. |
I do not like the guy, but i would rather have him
playing for us than against us. After all, he is one of
the best wide recievers in the game.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:26 a.m. |
The word "professional" and "team" can no longer be
linked to the NFL. So...what's not to like?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:26 a.m. |
You have to be able to throw the ball for Owens to catch
it If the QB is on his back it will be difficult. With
great protection, any good receiver will do. Improve the
offensive line first. I would rather have mature
players. Let Terrell grow up somewhere else. Dallas is
not a Day Care Center.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:25 a.m. |
I'd rather lose without him than win with him. He is an
immature jerk. Surely Jones aint dat stoopid.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:25 a.m. |
We passed up Randy Moss but this clown is ok?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:25 a.m. |
Can they put a "shut up and catch footballs" clause in
his contract? I am a lifelong PA Cowboys fan who just
lived through TO in Philadelphia (with two Eagles fans
in the house, one a very impressionable 7 year old). I
wasn't looking forward to his arrival but now that it
seems imminent....The man can catch a ball (and thats a
very good thing) but can they just muzzle him and not
let him speak to the media????
|
| March 18, 2006 08:24 a.m. |
I went from hating to loving a lot of players - Deion
Sanders, Keyshawn Johnson, Charles Haley, but this will
truly be difficult. I think Owens' first act as a Cowboy
should be to polish the helmets of every teammate, with
a special emphasis on the iconic star that he so rudely
stomped on several years ago. I'd also like to see
George Teague on the payroll, just as a reminder to
Owens that we won't stand for his antics.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:24 a.m. |
I am a life-long Cowboy fan and the signing of Terrel
Owens sickens me. The Cowboys are making a mistake in
signing this locker room cancer and many fans like me
will now find other teams or intrests to spend our time
and money.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:24 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 08:23 a.m. |
Jerry Jones, Your money. Your team. My remote. My
entertainment choice. My money. Do no do it! I guess
disgracing the star meant nothing to you? It meant
something to the fans.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:23 a.m. |
Hey, this is great! I'm a Skins fan living in Dallas and
this would make my day!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:21 a.m. |
i love it.. adds another dimension to this offense..
which will make us unstoppable
|
| March 18, 2006 08:20 a.m. |
This is America's Team! And in America we forgive and
forget! TO was embarassed nationaly last year. And one
thing a "me and only me" person wants to have is
RESPECT. Now he's got a chance, possibly his final
chance to gain respect. Let's not forget our last WR was
in the same situation. I'm glad he's here.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:20 a.m. |
I hope I'm wrong, but I think that this will be a
disaster for the Cowboy players, coaches and
organization as a whole. If he is signed, part of the
deal should be that at his first game in Texas Stadium
he would kneel and kiss the Star at midfield.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:18 a.m. |
Well as A long time Cowboy fan and someone who grew up
watching the cowboys. I think that this can do two ways!
The first way TO comes to dallas and does great things
and causes no problems and dallas wins. If that happens
then everybody is patting Jerry on the back for a job
well done. Our it can go the other way. With him
causeing problems and etc.... But hey I don't like the
dude at all but when He puts a dallas uniform I have to
cheer for him because I am A DIE HARD FAN.. I live in
Houston so I will hear it from all of my friends etc..
But My dad who lives in dallas has season tickets and
has had them for a long time now so You can bet your
dollar I will be at some games cheering for TO. Not
because of the person he is but for the reason that he
is playing for the Cowboys
|
| March 18, 2006 08:17 a.m. |
A sad day when the potential for winning (maybe) is more
important than ethics. This is the final straw for me
with a very frustrating team.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:17 a.m. |
Where is George Teague when you need him?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:16 a.m. |
Shows more of JJ's lack of class.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:14 a.m. |
Well I am reading all these neg. comments! Hello I would
rather him be With us Then Against Us!! and Hello, did
Keyshawn not have the same problem in Tampa and Bill
Shut him up. And all the stuff about our star get over
it it's entertainment and I bet if he sighns with us and
goes out after his MANY T.D.s and kiss the satr we will
all be going nuts about it. It's about WINNING and you
HAVE to go out and do everything it takes to win. That
include getting 1 of the BEST recivers. No I am not A TO
fan but that could change when we hold up the Super Bowl
Trophy.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:14 a.m. |
I hate that we released Keyshawn for this idiot who is
going to be a distraction for the team. Why does Jerry
think he can make T.O. act any different in Dallas?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:13 a.m. |
If Jerry Jones only had a dime to his name, he'd still
have more money than sense.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:12 a.m. |
I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan. When T.O. was signed by
the Eagles we disregared what everyone was saying about
him. The San Francisco writers who warned us about him.
At first we loved him and everything was great. Then we
realized what everyone was saying about him. Things will
be good for awhile until Dallas looses or he doesn't get
enough catches or attention. Good luck you can have him.
He'll rip your team apart. Be careful what you wish
for!! Buyer beware.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:12 a.m. |
Good riddance. You can keep him in Dallas. If Jerry
thinks he can contain this loudmouth crybaby, think
again. Watch how he wrecks your team, too.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:11 a.m. |
Why is the media not interested in covering the real
issue with the Cowboys? With the current NFC level of
play, they could have played in the Superbowl last year.
The quarterback is not only slow-to-react, but is also
not a good decision-maker. Defensive coaches have one
less dimension to deal with against this qb and the NFL
pundits know it. Another issue with the same roots is
the Coach's unwillingness to look at Romo as witnessed
last year this year it would be Culpepper, Brees, and
even Garcia. While he is one of the best coaches, he is
not as smart as he thinks he is and the other coaches
understand his playing philosophy and adjust to it. He
has faults that go unchallenged by the media.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:11 a.m. |
Big Mistake. Owens doesn"t deserve to be playing for any
NFL Team. He should have been barred from the NFL for
life. These type of players will evntually destroy the
NFL. Ticket prices for any NFL game are out of control
and NFL owners are the ones that benefit for now. Wait
and see.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:11 a.m. |
If this is indeed true then in my opinion the Cowboys
have hit bottom. This guy is about himself and nobody
else. He has already proven that and if they think he is
going to change then they are sadly mistaken. The only
reason he is coming here is because no other team wanted
him. Tex Schramm and Tom Landry are in heaven looking
down and shaking their heads. There is no way in this
world that they would have signed someone with his past
. The Cowboys are a team with Pride and Dignity and this
guy has neither of these qualities. The Cowboys as we
have known them are over, at least for me they are. I
will not support a team that has a person like him. Let
me state that I have been a Cowboy fan since I was a kid
and followed them as much as I could while I lived in
Tennessee. This is not to mention what he did to the
Cowboy Star. I WILL NOT BE A COWBOY FAN!!!!! Steve Lane
|
| March 18, 2006 08:11 a.m. |
Jones is going to hire a clown, what is next, a juggler,
people on stilts, some elephants and monkeys? I think
that it is ludicrous that an owener is so hungry for
another ring to go on his finger that he would hire such
a total egotistical jerk and disruptive force and risk
destroying the chemistry of a team beginning to jell
when the money could be so much better spent in finding
some competent offensive linemen that could compete in
the N.F.L. to protect the quarterback and make the
running game a real possibility. I really wish that the
fans would boycot the Cowboys, but I know that won't
happen and there would be enough fools to fill the
statium if he hired Saddam to run the team. Just the
lighter side of my opinion on the subject.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:09 a.m. |
Uggh ... flashbacks to when we brought in Deion Sanders.
While a good player, T.O. doesn't care about the Team.
This is not a good move.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:08 a.m. |
I am officially done with this team. How you can sign
the jerk who stomped on the star and disrespected you
and made us all hate him? Not to mention the team cancer
issue and all the other baggage? I'm done. I'm done
renewing my season tickets (after 31 years) and I'm
never buying another Cowboys item again. This is the
last straw, and I am not supporing this garbage any
longer. Fans need to stand up and say enough is enough.
Where is George Teague when you need him?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:07 a.m. |
Jerry Jones has finally done it! He's making me turn in
my silver star! They are going to be very, very sorry
they did this.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:06 a.m. |
If anyone had any doubts that the NFL is about money,
not football, this deal should make it very clear. "My
Money" Jones deserves "Give Me Money" Owens Dallas
football fans deserve neither.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:06 a.m. |
Why is this on the front page???
|
| March 18, 2006 08:05 a.m. |
T.O. is a mutherfucker who disrespected the Star, and
does not deserve to be in a Cowboys uniform. Piece of
shit! Fuck him!! I don't know what the hell is wrong
with Jerry.....
|
| March 18, 2006 08:05 a.m. |
When the Eagles picked up T.O., their thought process
was that they were one player away from making and
winning a superbowl. They were partially right. The
Cowboys ARE NOT ONE PLAYER AWAY from making the
superbowl. T.O. may work out okay for us for one, maybe
two years, but one can only hide their true character so
long. T.O.'s character will eventually emerge, and we
all know what kind of character he has....or doesn't
have. Let's face it, as true Cowboy's fans, we all have
come to fear T.O.'s talent and we all have come to
simply hate him. He is one of two current players in the
entire league that many fans, including myself, would
not be able to keep a grin off our face if a career
ending injury happened to occur. (Randy Moss is the
other) If T.O. becomes a Cowboy, I will, for the first
time in my life, boo a Cowboy. It is not possible for
him to gain my respect. His past actions have forced
about 90% of all NFL fans to despise him. His actions in
Texas Stadium have caused 100% of our 'true' fans to
hate him. He is a player that thinks he is bigger than
the game itself. T.O. always has been, is now, and
always will be a selfish piece of crap.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:05 a.m. |
BIG, BIG MISTAKE. He will cause Jones and Parcell to
part company and create too many problems on a already
troubled team. Lee Hartman
|
| March 18, 2006 08:05 a.m. |
Are the cowboys insane. Jerry got rid of an excellent
player who is a gentleman. He now is courting a thug. I
guess the old saying "birds of a feather" is really
true.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:04 a.m. |
He's a cancer and may destroy the Team!!! Jerry and Bill
better have him on a short leash.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:04 a.m. |
Just proves that bad behavior and immaturity is rewarded
in our society...and people wonder why are children are
so messed up?
|
| March 18, 2006 08:04 a.m. |
This is terrible. I cannot support this guy and
therefore cannot support the Cowboys. 40 years
supporting them and it comes to an end now.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:04 a.m. |
the first time in my life that i have hated to call
myself a Cowboy fan. This is kind of like the USA
electing Osama as president. I just cant imagine the
majority of Cowboy fans accepting this guy as one of our
own.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:04 a.m. |
Terrel Owens, THE headcase? Jerry wouldn't consider
Randy Moss because he feared Moss would be disruptive?
My loyalty to the Cowboys barely survived the hiring of
The-Coach-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. It will NOT survive
signing Owens, who went out of the way to insult the
Cowboys, and has left his every team far worse off.
Another team will draft Vince Young and I can see him
play 20 times a year. Do this, Jerry, and it is Adios
Forever from a Cowboys fan for the 45 years the team has
played in the NFL.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:03 a.m. |
I've been a Cowboy fan all my life, but If we sign T.O.
I'm done.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:03 a.m. |
Man, the posts are tough. I remember feeling the same
way about Deion Sanders before we brought him in. And we
remember how that worked out. It's a risk, for sure, but
it could pan out to be a great one. I do not like TO one
bit, but if he comes in and helps us win, so be it. It
is a business. I am tired of watching us stink the place
up.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:03 a.m. |
Good luck with all that! Now, the cancer has arrived at
Valley Ranch? What makes the Cowboys think that they are
going to change that ego-maniac! His m.o. is ME over
team!
|
| March 18, 2006 08:01 a.m. |
T.O. would be divisive and completely undermine any
credibility Jones has built over the years about meaning
values and standing for having quality people on the
Cowboys. It would be the low point of Parcells career.
If they sign TO, the Cowboys have sunk to an all time
low moral abyss.
|
| March 18, 2006 08:00 a.m. |
Good luck Cowboys. Owens personally destroyed my Eagles
the last two years. He will never be the star Michael
Irvin was.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:59 a.m. |
Unforgivable after what he did on the star combined with
his track record. I'm no longer a fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:59 a.m. |
I will sell my season tickets for free if the cowboys
get TO (Too Obnoxious) on the roster. Are we dropping
our standards to allow such a problematic player as him
to join the ranks of professionalism? To allow our
children to believe that it is acceptable to behave like
he has? Doesn't eveyone realize that there is a pattern
that once you have established a personality trait that
will repeat itself? Is Jerry Jones really going to stoop
down to an all-time low just to have a chance to make
the playoffs? Have some dignity! Be proud of the morals
and ethics your team has!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:58 a.m. |
Terrell Owens would add much needed explosiveness to the
Cowboys offense. I am 100% for Jerry and Bill signing
him.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:58 a.m. |
I guess after a nuclear war, the only survivors will be
Jerry Jones and cock roaches!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:56 a.m. |
Have lived in the Dallas area for 57 years and supported
the Cowboys, but if they sign T.O. I will not be a
cowboy fan any longer and will pull for any team that
plays against Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:55 a.m. |
It disgusts me to see Dallas let a player with the
character and leadership of Dan Campbell go and then
even consider signing Owens. I'm through with the
Cowboys!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:55 a.m. |
WHY,WHY,WHY???? DOESN'T JERRY LISTEN TO THE FANS? I have
been a Cowboy fan for life and this could be the deal
that changes that. I cannot under any circumstances root
for this idiot and once he put on the star it will be
completely tarnished!!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:55 a.m. |
Best reason I know of not to support the team. No way I
watch them with T.O. unless he mends his ways.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:54 a.m. |
I think I'll be a Redskins fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:53 a.m. |
He disrespected the team many times. I don't care how
good he is, you can never get that out of your head.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:53 a.m. |
The Cowboys are asking for trouble, Big Time!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:52 a.m. |
Great, now maybe we can beat the deadskins!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:52 a.m. |
Terrible. Horrible. Depressing. Like waking up to hear
that your wife has been cheating on you, and is going to
continue to do so. Hire T.O. to catch passes. Hire Bin
Laden to teach elusiveness to running backs. Hire Saddam
to coach linebackers. Hire Hitler as a "Blitz package"
only coach. I dealt with the Landry firing, I dealt with
signing Deion, I dealt all of Michael Irvin's problems
(see also Mark Tuinei, Alfredo Roberts, Nate Newton,
etc.)I dealt with all of the horrible draft picks and FA
signings, I even dealt with the signing of Keyshawn
thinking that atleast it is not T.O. But this is too
much. The first piece of clothing I ever wore had a star
on it and the last piece of clothing I had intended to
wear was going to be my personalized Cowboys jersey. It
feels like a life long friend has died this morning. To
all of the fans that say I am not a true fan, you are
wrong. The star means more than you can ever understand.
But of course you will be wearing another logo as soon
as you figure out that this will never work. I will not
watch the Cowboys, I will not watch the NFL, I will not
watch the AFL and all of you T.O. fans will benefit from
this if you go on E-bay you will be able to buy tens of
thousands of dollars of memorabilia for just pennies on
the dollar. I am through. My most prized posession was
an autographed picture of Jerry Jones. I have been his
biggest cheerleader through all of these years, but no
more. I am sad.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:51 a.m. |
i hate it. jerry is selling his sole
|
| March 18, 2006 07:50 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 07:49 a.m. |
I would love to see him sprint to the middle of the
field and celebrate catching a TD, but this time FOR
DALLAS....Bring him on
|
| March 18, 2006 07:49 a.m. |
I love it. Now let's go get a OL, safety and a kicker
and we are super Bolw bound. Reseign Parcells too, for
another 2 years. This team is 3 years away from winning
the prize. Not next year.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:49 a.m. |
You people are crazy! TO in Big D is great! To all the
fans who won't be Cowboy fans because TO, go ahead and
leave. Go become Texans fans because they are doing a
lot better. See you!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:45 a.m. |
I have been a huge fan for over 35 years, but if they
sign him, I will not watch them again. He is not worth
any number of wins he can bring.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:45 a.m. |
He knows that this is his final stop and he does not
want to do anything stupid playing for a coach like
Parcells. He will be fine in Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:44 a.m. |
I just became a fan of every other team in the NFL. They
should bring back tar and feathering for Jerry Jones.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:44 a.m. |
I have been a Cowboy fan for almost 40 years and have
stuck by them through all the changes. But if they sign
Terrell Owens, I'll never watch another game.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:44 a.m. |
I love it because he is a great receiver. He might be a
great person but hey we are trying to win super bowls
not marry the players. This will open up alot of
different plays for our offense.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:43 a.m. |
If it helps the COwboys win a Super Bowl then I'm all
for it. Parcells is known for keeping players like this
under control.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:42 a.m. |
This will be the star that puts the cowboys on top of
the NFC.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:41 a.m. |
It's a great deal. Owens is a playmaker that they need.
Now all they need is a playmaking Quaterback.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:41 a.m. |
OK as long as the contract has a small signing bonus
with incentives so we can cut him any time without a
large cap hit.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:41 a.m. |
What is Jerry Jones thinking? Has he completely lost
touch with reality? I cannot believe he is even
CONSIDERING bringing such a disrupttive person as T.O.
to Dallas. That does it for me--I've been a devoted
Cowboys fan from the beginning but no longer-I will not
attend games, and I don't even care if they're on TV. --
My wife agrees, "We don't need T.O. as a COWBOY at any
price"! If T.O. joins she will remove her COWBOY support
stickers and flags from the car, etc!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:40 a.m. |
To the so called "LIFE-LONG" fans, if you stop being a
Cowboys fan because of one player, then maybe you
weren't much of one to begin with. Being a fan for
nearly 30 years, I can still be a fan of the Dallas
Cowboys despite of what Jerry Jones did to Tom Landry
and despite him signing Charles Haley and Deion Sanders.
I cheer for the team not just the players on it.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:39 a.m. |
I think it will work, surely T.O.understands,that his
career will end in Dallas nobody else wants him.If he"s
smart let what he doe"s on the field do his talking.T.O
and Drew could be great together.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:38 a.m. |
Parcells will really have to earn his money now!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:37 a.m. |
If I could make it through with Michail Irvin, I can
surely still cheer for the cowboys with T.O. Do we
forget the off field antics that he did? Yet many cowboy
fans cry when he does not make the HOF. I was the
biggest Michael Irvin fan and all he did was do drugs,
cheat on his wife and claim that the pipe in his car was
his brothers. But Cowboy fans still defend him. I could
not stand T.O. when he stood on the star like he did.
Remember that football is a business. I thought when
Jones fired Landry that would be the end of the Cowboys.
He then hires Jimmy Johnson who by the way divorced his
wife the day he took the job. The sport is full of of
this type of behavior. So I would love to have some of
those season tichets that many of you cowboys fans will
be throwing away. You will regret it. Go
Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:36 a.m. |
After 40 years as a Cowboy fan, I'll be pulling for them
this season--to lose!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:36 a.m. |
Year 1, he should be happy, since he is getting paid
what he wants. Yr.2 and 3 tick.tick.tick.tick.....
|
| March 18, 2006 07:35 a.m. |
I am moving to Houston to be a Vince Young fan... to
hell with the cowboys and terrell owens.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:34 a.m. |
My God if anyone in Texas Stadium starts singing T.O. ,
T.O., T.O., T.O. T.O...... I will be so embarrassed to
be a 40 year Cowboy fan. If the fans put him above the
team, like they did in Philly, I may root for the hated
Redskins.

TO wearing the Star!!!!!!!! You've gotta be
kidding.....Doesn't Jerry have any pride or sense? I've
been a Cowboy fan since 1961....Stuck with them through
firing Landry, firing Jimmy (after 2 Super Bowl Wins) ,
Hiring the Bozo from Oklahoma, bringing in Neon
Deon...Is it just me or is Jerry really this
self-destructive. I'm done......no more Cowboys for me.
Guess I'll root for the Colts now
|
| March 18, 2006 07:31 a.m. |
Good luck to them, they'll need it. When does the "White
House" re-open? Jerry can complete his haul by signing
Arrington and Jeff George. While not a season ticket
holder, I will not be going to Texas Stadium, or
waching, listening or otherwise paying attention to the
'Boys until there is significant change in this
franchise, maybe like the ownership. I'm done with
'em...
|
| March 18, 2006 07:30 a.m. |
jerry jones has lost his mind. what a slap in cowboy
fans to sing this clown
|
| March 18, 2006 07:30 a.m. |
Can we not forget Dieon Sanders. "I will never be a
Dallas Cowboy" Back during those times Dion Sanders was
all about himself until he came to Dallas. This is the
spark that Dallas needs to maybe get them over the hump
that is if they would go out and soldify the offense
line and a true cover safety. Calm down and lets play
this thing out. I wish keyshawn would have stayed.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:29 a.m. |
With T.O. in and Keyshawn out, the Cowboys aren't really
improving themselves all that much. This deal just makes
for good press, plus more headaches for Jerry and Bill.
They have more problems than at wide receiver.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:28 a.m. |
Jerry Jones would recruit the Devil if he thought it
would bring him more publicity and any form of
left-handed fame. What an EGO. That's it, I finished
with the Cowboys. I won't be watching them anymore, I
have better things to do with my time, my money and my
tax dollars. I will be moving out of Arlington. Irving
was crazy, but Arlington's Mayor was just plain greedy
for power and fame also.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:28 a.m. |
I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years. Each year
for the past several I've struggled with renewal. Jerry
Jones' ownership just hit a new low and he has made my
mind up for me. I wish them luck, but they will do it
wihtout me in the stands.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:28 a.m. |
I have been a Cowboy fan since they got here in
1960...My Uncle JuJu worked for Otis Elevator, so Dad &
I went and got 2-C all of the games @ the Cotton Bowl up
in the PRESS BOX...ETC...ETC...I could go on &
on...maybe you get it, though...BOYFRIENDSEASON
TICKETS/TX STADIUMFOREVER ...We were @ Landry's
memorial...(-:Along with a FEW others)...T.O. & the STAR
@ our stadium in IRVING! \GAG ME:/ ...I can't beLIEVE
the POSSIBILTY EXISTS OF THAT DISGUSTING PERSON COMING
HERE? It took me forEVER 2 get over Tom Landry getting
FIRED...BUT I DID... EVEN PHILEDELPIA LET THIS GUY
GO...AND NOW WE'RE (POSSIBLY) TAKING HIM?!?!?? Nope!!
This is one thing that will FINALLY/TOTALLY\COMPLETELY
get MY 'BOYS OUT OF MY LIFE FOREVER! (VERY SAD, BUT VERY
TRUE)... HmmmBuhBye'Boys!! OXOXOX (w/o T.O.) Connie
|
| March 18, 2006 07:27 a.m. |
First he taunts our team by celebrating on the 50 yard
line and gets taken out by Teague then calls Jeff Garcia
gay on his way out of San Fran(for more money)then
single handedly destroys a Superbowl contender in Philly
with all his tantrums about what?MONEY.If Parcells can't
handle Antonio Bryant, how on earth do we expect him to
handle Owens?Where is Teague when you need him?
|
| March 18, 2006 07:27 a.m. |
TO in Dallas???? What will Jerry do next - draft from
San Quentin Prison??? What is wrong with that man? Does
he not have any morals? As much as I hate the Eagles - I
was so proud to see them stand up to TO! At least they
have some pride! Melissa
|
| March 18, 2006 07:27 a.m. |
If this is true...Dallas just LOST a fan. You sign this
loud mouth, inconsiderate person and the Dallas Cowboys
will lose what little business this fan gave them.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:26 a.m. |
Just one more reason not to watch the cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:25 a.m. |
I seem to remember reading and hearing alot of the same
things when "Prime Time" came to town...maybe not to
this degree. I believe that Parcells will handle the
situation. Alot of folks thought and felt the same way
about Taylor and Keyshawn. Just gonna have to let it
play out.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:24 a.m. |
You guys (the media) control how much exposure TO
receives. Please spare us.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:23 a.m. |
I think its a JOKE just like the owner!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:22 a.m. |
I agree with signing T.O. if they have not given him a
huge, guaranteed contract. If there is some room for to
cut him without losing lots of money than this deal
makes sense. There is a chance, we need to at least
agree to that, that T.O. understands that this is a
great opportunity to establish a new reputation and do
it the right way. Looking forward to playing the Eagles!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:21 a.m. |
I think signing him is the stupidist thing yet! That man
hasn't got a brain in his head. I am loath to think of
him here in Dallas making us the laughing stock of the
NFL. I not only like a team to win but I like to have
pride in those that help us win. There is no way I could
ever have any respect for TO and whatever team he is on.
What an embarasment.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:20 a.m. |
I've been a diehard Cowboy fan for 40 years but if Jerry
Jones puts this cancer on his team I'm done with the
'Boys. Feel sorry for what all the other players will
have to put up with. Tell me it ain't so.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:17 a.m. |
I know it's a cliche these days to say "it's just
business" when signing or cutting players. But signing
Terrell Owens to Dallas would say that there is
absolutely no soul, or sport, in the game at all
anymore. The guy is a cancer, a coach-killer, toxic in
the locker-room, and old at 32. But, most important of
all, he desecrated the star. You can't welcome a guy on
your team who did that. It's just not right. Jerry,
don't do it. It would be your dumbest move of all time.
I'll give up supporting the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:15 a.m. |
If you can keep him in line I think it will be great. I
think he will be fine because he really has to prove him
self.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:15 a.m. |
Risky!!! But that is how Jerry does it. There will be no
middle ground here - either it will be a huge success or
a huge bust! I will support T.O. as long as he is team
oriented.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:15 a.m. |
If the Cowboys don't make a major upgrade on that
offensive line, then it's all for nothing. T.O. will be
standing in the end zone while Drew is laying on his
back.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:14 a.m. |
Bring him on! But...it should be a condition written in
his contract that at this year's home-opener, he must
run out of the tunnel, straight to mid-field and kiss
the Star.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:12 a.m. |
Typical stunt for Mr Jones and the Dallas organization.
Terrel Owens has no more concept of teamwork than Jerry
Jones...after all, you don't see Parcells talking about
this. Sure, he's good, but why didn't anyone else want
him? Because when the going gets tough, Terrel gets
going. All the best to Jerry from a loyal Redskins fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:11 a.m. |
Simple. I have been a Cowboy fan all my life. If the
Cowboys sign Owens, I will not watch a game!
|
| March 18, 2006 07:11 a.m. |
He is a great player but has caused problems everywhere
he has been. Jerry better structure his contract where
he can dump him if he reverts to form.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:10 a.m. |
Go Deep... Go Deep....more room for Witten..more room
for Glenn...more room for Crayton...more room for Jones
and Barber to run.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:09 a.m. |
Give me a break, we need some one like that like, ..But
Jerry is once again running true to form, once an ass
hole always an ass hole.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:08 a.m. |
I am a liflong Cowboy fan, but I struggle with the
thought of the biggest idiot in sports playing for
Dallas. It's not just the "drama" that T.O. brings with
him, but team chemistry is at risk as well.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:08 a.m. |
In todays big business anything goes. Anyone think Dan
Synder wouldn't pick him up(Dion)? Al Davis maybe(Moss).
If Denver got him everyone would be saying well he will
be a good fit there. Cowboys get him and everone thinks
it will be trouble. T.O. has paid dearly for his
problems in Philly, now has he learned a lesson? If so,
good, if not, well.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:08 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 07:08 a.m. |
I have been a life long Cowboys fan. I have been as
devoted as a fan can be. However, I will take all of my
Cowboys paraphenalia off of the walls, all hats,
sweaters, t-shirts, socks, etc. and put them in safe
keeping until Owens is no longer a Cowboy. This is going
to be a huge headache for the team. I can not and will
not support him for any reason. I understand that you
have to do almost anything to make your team as
successful as possible, but this is for on field
production, not team chemistry, or morals. He will rip
this young, impressionable team apart within 1 season.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:06 a.m. |
I have been a Cowboy fan for all of my 36 years. I will
no longer be one if they sign T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:06 a.m. |
Mr. Owens has a lot of grovelling to do before this
Cowboys fan even comes close to accepting his right to
wear the star.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:05 a.m. |
I couldn't care less. I gave up on following the Cowboys
when Jerry Jones and his ego destroyed the once
all-class organization. I will say that Owens will be
the undoing of the Jones-Parcells arrangement. Then,
Jerry can go back to looking for another Barry Switzer
or Dave Campo. It'll have to be somebody who doesn't
mind relinquishing coaching decisions to the big ego of
Jones.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:03 a.m. |
If he produces on the field it's a great move. If he
fails on the field, then at least we will be
entertained. However, If the O-line and cover safety
concerns are not addressed, this signing will be
irrelevant.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:03 a.m. |
Terrible, terrible idea. The Cowboys underestimate the
importance of chemistry and the hatred Cowboy fans feel
toward Owens for the star incident. How many great
athletes but bad character jerks have won championships?
Very, very few, with the exception of Dennis Rodman.
This guy is cancer. Bad move Jerry.
|
| March 18, 2006 07:03 a.m. |
I am very excited about the move. I am a Cowboys fan no
matter what. I am not going to stop being a fan just
because they have gotten a "controversal" player. I hope
Cowboy fans can come together and support this. I think
the support will grow when we are scoring more than 13
points a game!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:58 a.m. |
Out with the Cowboys and in with the Houston Texans.
America's NEW team.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:57 a.m. |
I've been a cowboys fan since the early seventies, and
one of my proudest moments as a fan was when George
Teague knocked T.O.'s butt off the star, and Teague was
ejected to a standing ovation. This is gonna be a hard
one to swallow, but if it helps us beat Washington, I
guess I can live with it.....
|
| March 18, 2006 06:57 a.m. |
Mr. Jones...........you might be the owner, but we are
the STAKEHOLDERS !!! Worst move the Cowboys will ever
have made !!!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:54 a.m. |
Feed off his energy. There can be no question of his
work ethic. There can be no question of his desire to
win. I could careless if he points to himself. Glenn,
Clayton, Witten, and the RB's as long as we take care of
our OL should have a FIELD DAY. Make sure we shore up
DL, LB, K, S
|
| March 18, 2006 06:53 a.m. |
The Cowboys have not taken advantage of Free Agency as
other teams have. Instead of using it to fill their
primary needs with solid players, they elected to go
with this flashy move. Where is a Safety, Kicker,
Offensive Tackle, Defensive Lineman, Linebacker? If they
had filled those needs, then made this one, that would
be great, but as it stands they are no better off then
last year.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:53 a.m. |
I don't think this is a good idea. He may make great
contributions, but at what cost?
|
| March 18, 2006 06:53 a.m. |
Since Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys, it has become a
team without honor or integrity. T.O. also lacks honor
and integrity - they deserve each other.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:53 a.m. |
I think third team is the charm for Owens and the
Cowboys. If Dallas, Rosenhaus and Owens have reached an
agreement, then that means that Owens and Rosenhaus are
happy. T.O. became disenchanted with his deal with
Philly after Rosenhaus was brought on. Also, I can
imagine that Michael Irvin has been consulted, perhaps
from the Cowboys camp and the Owens camp. T.O. knows
what to expect, the Cowboys know what to expect. I have
a feeling that in a couple of years, we will all be
looking back and be talking about another "troublemaker"
player that has come to DFW and turned things around.
The list of success stories (Sanders, Haley, Conseco...)
is much longer than the failures (Tarpley, Rodman...)
Welcome HOME, T.O.!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:52 a.m. |
Bring it on! It is about time we had a player with some
excitement to him. I certainly remember Irvin having
some disbutes with coaches on the sidelines, and at that
time we had a coach who could handle him. Remeber Mike
did not start having most of his troubles on or off the
field until Jimmy left. The Parcells, TO relationship I
feel will be very simialar.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:52 a.m. |
Jerry needs to now give out brown bags before the games
for the suckers that will follow this loser.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:51 a.m. |
It just goes to show you what kind of business the NFL
is...win at all cost attitude.I really don't like this
deal, but at the same time it sparks a little hope that
just maybe Bill can reach T O. He is definately a very
talented receiver. This will at least make things
intersting.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:50 a.m. |
This is the worse thing that Jones/Parcells could have
done this off season. Not sure if I will attend any
games while T.O. is on the roster.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:49 a.m. |
I'm all for it. He may be an ass but he will find the
endzone and we haven't had a gamebreaking WR is a very
long time. THis won't be a long term deal, and I think
he'll have something to prove.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:48 a.m. |
People need to stop whining about T.O. becoming a
Cowboy. I've been a die hard fan for over 30 years and
I'm not thrilled with his attitude. I fully expect to
see a tantrum or two, but the bottom line is that this a
business. The fans will shut up and still watch the game
because now maybe we will actually score a few more
points and stop sitting on small leads hoping our
exhausted defense can stop the other team from beating
us with a field goal. It's sad that people are upset
about this, but ignore what Bush is doing to this
country. Priorities people!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:46 a.m. |
I think getting T.O. is BS....If he would have
disrespected Jerry's momma I bet he wouldn't sign
him!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:45 a.m. |
It's a sad day for the Cowboys. Terrell Owens is a
selfish man who will destroy a teammate or the whole
team for the sake of his own ego. I hope the reports are
not true. I do not want to see him wearing the star on
his helmet.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:45 a.m. |
Hollywood Henderson, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders,
Keyshawn Johnson ... not an angel among them and Cowboys
fans embraced them as long as they were helping the team
win. Why are Dallas fans so quick to dismiss this
signing? This guy is one of the top 10 players in the
NFL, he's going to play out of his mind against the
Eagles and he has zero wiggle room regarding his
behavior. Who cares if he's a selfish player? The league
is full of selfish players. If you want to quit being a
fan, I'll be happy to take your playoff seats next year.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:44 a.m. |
THIS IS WORSE THAN THE ALAMO
|
| March 18, 2006 06:44 a.m. |
A waste of money a waste of time a waste of fan support
a waste of what was once a good team.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:43 a.m. |
ANYONE who says they will now no longer be a fan never
really was one to start. If Dallas start's 4 - 0, let's
just see where you stand. Sure, standing on the star was
bothersome, but it's not like he was stomping on the
American Flag....he was showing off, just like Michael
has done, Keyshawn has done and on and on. LET IT GO
PEOPLE....This cat can play, and we need that.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:41 a.m. |
Owens has been a bad penny ever where he has been. He
may have talent but also brings a load of dissent with
him. I didnt think anyone could disrupt the Eagles the
way he did but look at the record. I hope Parcells and
Jones are ready for trouble. Maybe thats what the T in
T-Owens really spells.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:37 a.m. |
BIG MISTAKE! Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells continue to
try and put bandaids on gaping wounds instead of fixing
them the right way. I just hope that we do better in the
draft this year!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:35 a.m. |
This will be a good thing as long as he can be in check.
And no funny business.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:34 a.m. |
I think this stinks that many fans will welcome him
after what he did to our STAR. No matter how many
touchdowns or first downs he will make, they can never
change the disrespect he has shown towards our team.
Maybe this is truly Americas team, with it's fans
wearing a feeble mindset just as most Americans do
regarding our nation. "HAVE YOU FORGETTEN"....
|
| March 18, 2006 06:33 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 06:30 a.m. |
If Me-O signs with the Cowboys I am through with them.
I've suffered with them through the ups and downs since
1960, but this is the last straw. They will have turned
me off for good.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:29 a.m. |
Jerry is going to force me to something i never thought
was possible, to no longer be a cowboy's fan how could
he do this.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:27 a.m. |
Terrible. Desperate. Pathetic. Watch another season go
up in smoke.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:25 a.m. |
Unlike many long time Coyboy's fans, I think this is a
great thing. T.O. a team wrecker? Sure, he has been, but
the Cowboy's are already broken. I believe that they
fall even futher without him. This makes it a perfect
match.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:20 a.m. |
The Cowboys are a joke. Bring back Jimmy!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:19 a.m. |
This would be a huge mistake for the Cowboys. Terrell
Owens is not a team player. Is Dallas big enough for
both Terrell Owens and Jerry Jones' egos?
|
| March 18, 2006 06:19 a.m. |
NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:16 a.m. |
I've bled blue and silver my entire life: hall of fame
players super bowls playoffs 1-15 coaching changes
Cowboys sign T.O. I am out!!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:15 a.m. |
Stupid, Stupid move! How many times does Owens have to
show he is not a team player and he's a cancer in the
clubhouse? Every team wants to think they can handle him
or change him and his talent outweighs the negatives.
Not true. I will be very upset if this report is true.
He does not deserve to be a Dallas Cowboy!
|
| March 18, 2006 06:11 a.m. |
I have been a cowboy fan since they were born in
1960,and there is no way i can justify terral owens
deserving to wear the hallowed silver and blue of the
Dallas Cowboys. This is just one more slap in the face of
loyal fans by Jerry Jones.I am afraid jerry just made a
bigger boo boo than the bungled firing of Tom
Landry.Jerry needs to understand there is more to being
a cowboy fan than winning at any cost.He needs to take a
look at the past glory and tradition of the cowboys and
what it means to the fans.I have always hated the Eagles
and their fans but they have gained my respect with the
way they handled the cancerous terral owens.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:10 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 06:09 a.m. |
It's pretty simple to read. Jerry Jones will do anything
to escape the ghost of Jimmy Johnson...He will sign any
player that might help HIM win a Super Bowl. Jones wants
a Super Bowl ring he can call his own, but it won't
happen. Jones has no class, therefore he signs classless
players and poor Purcells has to put up with him for
another year - then Purcells will be gone.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:08 a.m. |
Worst move jerry has pulled since he fired jimmy. I
already swore my allegiance to the Houston Texans a long
time ago...
|
| March 18, 2006 06:05 a.m. |
you can bet your bottom dollar that me and mine will
never watch a cowboy game as long as T.O. is a part of
that team. jerry jones has got to go. this just makes me
sick.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:05 a.m. |
I can just hear Jerry Jones now saying, "Forget the
fans, after we start winning, they will forgive us for
the T. O. deal. . ." Well this Cowboy fan of 46 years
will find another team to support Mr. Jones. I would
rather lose, than win with T. O.
|
| March 18, 2006 06:05 a.m. |
One of the worst decisions ever made by the Cowboys.

In today's NFL teams must always compete for a
championship. That being said when your team has a
chance to pick up one of the best offensive players in
the league you have to support them. Some of his
celebrations have gone to far including the infamous
Dallas Star incident. I think that Jerry Jones should
make T.O. either make a public appology for it or have
him do it 15 more times this year with a Star on his
helmet.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:47 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 05:45 a.m. |
I THINK THE COWBOYS PANICKED AFTER SEING WASHINGTON
SIGNING ALL THESE FREE AGENTS. THIS WILL PUT THE COWBOYS
BACK ANOTHER 3 YEARS. BIIIGGG MISTAKE.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:41 a.m. |
Right On! Keyshawn for T.O. - That's a good swap.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:40 a.m. |
I think this sucks !! Of all the people in the NFL, TO
is the one person I would not want on the Cowboys.
Winning is neat and all but winning with pride is
something special. The Cowboys no longer have any pride
by signing TO. Jerry caved in and paid a lot of good
money to the man who celebrated on the star....you
should be ashamed of yourself JJ. For the first time in
my life, I am ashamed to be a Cowboys fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:39 a.m. |
Jerry has to be in the news. He deserves what he gets
out of this. I'm done with the Cowboys after being a
direhard fan since the Eddie Lebaron days
|
| March 18, 2006 05:39 a.m. |
Bad move by a desperate owner.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:38 a.m. |
worst move ever. Owens' a player that should never be
signed by any NFL owner in his right mind.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:35 a.m. |
Ilook back at the game vs. the 49ers, (the star incident
game), and had no idea that that cocky reciever would be
wearing that same star on his helmet. Somewhere during
this off season, I discovered a hidden likeness for T.O.
I'm extactic that he is a Cowboy! Honestly, I don't
blame the man, I can't stand the Eagles either!
|
| March 18, 2006 05:30 a.m. |
As a long time Cowboys fan, and with respect to T.O.'s
obvious abilities, nevertheless this will be a problem
for the Cowboys like no other they have ever had. Look
what happened in Philadelphia, SF. He will sadly
eventually do the same with Dallas.

I don't care if he has set every record, I don't want
him to play for the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:29 a.m. |
I think he will be on his best behavior for a while,
then he will be a cancer that needs to be removed.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:28 a.m. |
If the Cowboys sign Owens, it will mark the end of my
support for them.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:27 a.m. |
Not sure at this time. If it is for a one year contract
with incentives that Owens must meet, then I guess it
makes sense. But if it is for a multi year contract,
will Owens pull another "Philly" scene. Plus he is
getting older. I'm hoping that Jerry hasn't sold his
soul to the devil for a Super Bowl trophy, because if he
did, the devil just might be named "T.O."
|
| March 18, 2006 05:25 a.m. |
This shows a total lack of class on the Cowboys, and is
the exact reason as a 35 year fan, I no longer consider
the Cowboys my team or one that I can point to for my
kids as what sports should be about
|
| March 18, 2006 05:23 a.m. |
Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells are not dummies. If they
think they can handle this guy, both financially and
motivationally, then why not take the chance. The
rewards, in my opinion, far outweigh the negatives. If
Big Bill and T.O. click together, they get moving on
Free Agency, and have another good draft, we just might
be able to add another Lombardi to Jerry's trophy case!
|
| March 18, 2006 05:22 a.m. |
I'd just as soon the Cowboys didn't sign Owens, for
obvious reasons. He's a great player, but he's Terrell
Owens! I'm not that bothered about the star incident,
more the person that he is. I just hate to think of the
Cowboys being associated with him. Having said that,
with the release of Keyshawn, the Cowboys have a dire
need of a quality receiver, and Owens is that. With the
right contract, and given his past history, I'd guess he
will be okay for a season. I'm not sure the Cowboys will
give him anything more than a season deal, and at 33
this season thats all I'd want to give him.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:20 a.m. |
Business standpoint? Great Move. Personal Standpoint?
Horrible move. If Dallas doesnt sign a descent free
safety, right tackle, and Kicker, then the 2006 season
will be as dissapointing as 2005.

| March 18, 2006 05:15 a.m. |
Give me one reason -- just one -- that this man would
not do everything in his considerable ability to
undermine and damage the morale of the team. Time and
again, Terrell Owens has proven to be a divisive,
antagonistic, egomaniacal knucklehead. He is a
lockerroom saboteur of the most despicable degree. If
Jerry Jones wants to contaminate the Cowboys with the
gridiron equivalent of a Superfund wasteland, one single
festering cesspool of concentrated contaminants
guaranteed to take years and years for cleanup and
recovery, signing T.O. is the answer. For more of this
commentary see my blog at

|
| March 18, 2006 05:15 a.m. |
This is a big big mistake!
|
| March 18, 2006 05:12 a.m. |
If the Cowboys are bent on turning people away from the
Landry era "America's Team", then they're well on their
way to do it. From the organization's inception decades
ago, they built a strong fan base and following built
around outstanding coaches and players on and off the
field. With the likes of additions of Keyshawn (who has
openly referred to himself as "Satan") and now Terrell
Owens, they're tearing down everything that the Cowboy
organization built itself and prided itself upon.
They're now becoming full of thugs similar to what we
saw of the Portland Trailblazers in the 90s. They've
never recovered since then. Bye America's Team. Was nice
to know you...once upon a time!!
|
| March 18, 2006 05:09 a.m. |
I think it will be a "FIT". However, it might not be a
"GOOD or BAD" fit. I'm tired of all these people worried
about his character and his attitude. Who cares? Are
there any less Eagles fans b-cuz of what T.O. did, and
if so....then they weren't "TRUE" fans to begin with.
Because he's in the lime light, it's brought to our
attention more. If he worked in an office...NO ONE would
know or care about what he does. Please tell me that all
of you never thought you were worth more than you get
paid at your jobs, and some of you made it known to your
bosses.....would you consider yourself disgruntled, or a
problem? And to the ones of you out there that are
thinking about given back yourseason tickets....PLEASE
give them to me, "BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT A TRUE FAN!"
Otherwise, sit back,be quiet and enjoy the ride.

Just another reason to hate the Cowboys.
|
| March 18, 2006 05:01 a.m. |
I love it. I can't wait for the season to start.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:46 a.m. |
Parcells will not put up with any crap. And I suspect TO
has already been told. Wouldn't be suprised if his
contract has references to such. I don't like TO. . .but
unfortantely the Boys and I are stuck with him. Let him
produce and let's see.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:45 a.m. |
I just hope Bill can control him.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:43 a.m. |
If this, indeed, becomes reality, it will be the darkest
day for this longtime Cowboys fans next to the firing of
Tom Landry. The argument can be made that changing
coaches back in 1989 was needed for the franchise to
move forward. I cannot, however, entertain an argument
for signing arguably the most disruptive, divisive moron
the league has seen in the past five or so years.
Terrell Owens is, without question, one of the most
talented receivers in the game today, but at what cost
to the integrity of a franchise and its players who put
the team ahead of themselves as individuals? Bill
Parcells' decision to return seemingly was predicated on
the belief that this team was building something
special. Great! So why go and jeopardize that with a
move that has disaster written all over it. Jerry Jones
said in the past that this franchise was here long
before he came along and will be hear long after he
leaves. That day can't come soon enough for me. Oh, by
the way Mr. Jones, on the subject of receivers who
deserve good things, it's high time to induct Drew
Pearson into the Ring of Honor.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:21 a.m. |
Confirmation on what a scum-bag Jerry Jones really is.
Shows no character value. I will not contribute to
Jerry's pocket book with Owens on this team. Having
Jerry associated is bad enough.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:12 a.m. |
When he wrecks the team Jerry and Bill will have egg all
over their faces. Of course Parcells will just walk away
and leave it in shambles. Sad day for Dallas when the
all or nothing to win gets this degenerate.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:08 a.m. |
Once again Jerry Jones proves just how big of an idiot
here is! A total lack of class,, Typical for the Cowboys
these days.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:06 a.m. |
sometimes if you really want to win,you have to be a
risk-taker.Deoin Sanders was not exactly sqeaky clean
when he came to Dallas back in 1995 and neither was
Keyshawn when it comes to image.Somebody was going sign
him and the fans of that football team were going to
raise the same questions we are asking right now.Bottom
line the dude can produce BIG TIME plays, now lets home
he will not produce a BIG TIME mess.
|
| March 18, 2006 04:03 a.m. |
he will have one very good year with Dallas before he
once again self-destructs
|
| March 18, 2006 03:58 a.m. |
The new plague is now upon our doorsteps. At what cost
will the Cowboys try to win. Much like Lord Vordemort in
Harry Potter, The Cowboys now try to win with a
half-life, a tainted life. I am so disappointed in my
proud organization, that I can not say what kind of I
fan I will be while T.O. roams our sideline. It's an
aweful day for Dallas.
|
| March 18, 2006 03:56 a.m. |
I think it is great. I would like the Cowboys to contend
this year and hopefully Bledsoe can win a Superbowl with
us and Parcells.
|
| March 18, 2006 03:44 a.m. |
I'm done watching the Cowboys...looks like Parcells
betrayed Keyshawn
|
| March 18, 2006 03:34 a.m. |
This is the first time I've ever been ashamed that I am
a Cowboy fan. Make that a former Cowboy fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 03:28 a.m. |
I think Terrell Owens is just what the Cowboys needed,
as long as he plays football and leaves the commentary
for the press agents that's what those guys get paid
for. I also think the Cowboys need to pick up Ray Lewis
he would also be a vauleable asset to the Cowboys and
dang find a someone to guard Drew Bledsoe so he will
stopped getting sacked so often! With that team we might
just make it to the play-offs and prehaps the Superbowl
next year!
|
| March 18, 2006 03:27 a.m. |
The damage Mr. Owens has inflicted on every other team
he has been a part of should be the one and only warning
any self-respecting organization considers regarding his
services. Acquiring this "talent" simply screams
desperation, self-loathing and deeply faded moral
character. Not one team in this league that has
attempted to "buy" a Superbowl with marquee talent has
been successful. Not one team in this league that was
"built to win now" has done so. I will always be a fan
of the Dallas Cowboys. This year, however, I will sit
this season out.
|
| March 18, 2006 03:10 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 03:02 a.m. |
Welcome T.O.! I have always hated you but will give you
a fresh start, and will not hate you again unless repeat
your past problems!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:57 a.m. |
Great move. This will bring the Cowboys back to the days
of the early 90s. T.O has been through so much over the
past year that he will of course be on his best behavior
this year for the Cowboys. Watch out NFC, the boys are
back!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:52 a.m. |
Jerry will rue the day!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:46 a.m. |
I would rather have picked up a one legged hobbit and
gone 0-16, than to have T.O. on my team
|
| March 18, 2006 02:44 a.m. |
Because T.O. was finally required to pay consequences
for his actions last year when he was publicly
humiliated, he will now be more restrained. There can be
no doubt Jones and/or Bill Parcels told the talented
receiver in no uncertain terms who would be in charge in
Dallas and that if he crossed the line there would be
more consequences. So if T.O. can be restrained off the
field, there's no doubt in anyone's mind that his
on-field prowess could be the determining factor in
propelling an otherwise decent team into a potentially
good one. With such a potent threat occupying so much of
every defense's attention, there will be less focus on
Terry Glenn and Jason Whitten. Without the double teams,
both Glenn and Whitten can be excellent receivers
combined with T.O. the Dallas Cowboys are a legitimate
contender to go deep into the playoffs.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:38 a.m. |
great, another criminal in the ranks of the cowboys.
Figures Jerry Jones would hire people without scruples,
he needs company.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:35 a.m. |
Does Jerry have a goal of signing all the receivers in
the 96 draft? I don't necessarly like the ideaof signing
Owens, but then again we don't have a proven receiver
other than Glenn and it seems the free agent market has
dried up fast. I don't think we can count on drafting a
receiver and expecting him to dominate from day one, so
it seems Owens is now a must. Owens has tremendous
talent! All I can say is if he is going to make up for
dancing on the star, he better find many more reasons to
dance in big D.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:31 a.m. |
as long as he keeps his mouth shut im ok with this
|
| March 18, 2006 02:28 a.m. |
I might be in the minority but I'm ecstatic to get a guy
with the talent of Owens. Sure he brings baggage to the
Cowboys but I like to look at the positive side. He's
one of the hardest working players in the league and to
come back from his leg injury as fast as he did to play
in the Super Bowl said a lot about his character. If it
was Emmitt Smith, people would have been singing his
praises but because it was Terrell Owens he was labled
as a selfish player. As far as tearing this team apart.
The Cowboys haven't won a playoff game in over 10 years
which is the longest drought in their history. Last
season they had the biggest collapse in their history.
Sometimes in order to be successful you have to take
chances and this is one of those times. After all, it's
not like they have to give up draft choices and/or
players to aquire him. The Cowboys need all the
playmakers they can get and Owens is indeed a playmaker
who has a chance to score everytime he catches the ball.
I can't wait 'till The Cowboys play Philly and the hype
leading up to the game.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:26 a.m. |
If he comes to Dallas he needs to apologize for standing
on the star. I have been a Cowboy fan all my life and my
family as well. I am willing to desert the Boys which is
a thought that had never entered my mind, but the star
represents Texas, and Americas Team. It means more to us
Cowboys fans than a superbowl win. I sat in the stands
in 1990 the game after Christmas when the Boys played
Greenbay in 15 degree weather. I new the season was over
way before that game, but real Cowboy fans never quit on
their team. It is sad to say that I will resign as a
Cowbot fan for life if He doesn't apologize for his dumb
action. He ofended the whole state of Texas.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:24 a.m. |
It is a black day in the heart of one cowboy fan.To know
that Terrell Owens will be wearing a cowboys uniform.
Jerry Jones I lost all respect for you. To disrespect
the pride and dignity of the cowboys organization and
players. We have hit rock bottom,to stoop so low as to
sell out to someone of Terrell Owens low charactor.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:23 a.m. |
Only good thing that can come out of this is if George
Teague spear tackles TO again, but this time at his
press conference signing announcement. SIGN TO AND LOSE
A FAN
|
| March 18, 2006 02:16 a.m. |
TO's deal should include a clause that states if he
doesn't bring a Superbowl to Dallas within two seasons,
Jerry Jones has to leave with him.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:12 a.m. |
If T.O. didn't like Donovan McNabb, imagine what he'll
say about Drew Beldsoe! The Cowboys will implode, but it
should be fun to watch.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:09 a.m. |
I think this is a brilliant move...there are people who
say the negatives of TO. Well first ofall were cowboy
fans and hence what happens in Philly we hate them and
they deserve it...think of this way....they wanted one
of if not the best reciever in the league for basically
nothing...show how cheap philly is...ON the cowboys part
this is a great move, they now have one of the most
feared players, even if he is covered all the time he
opens the field up for others...those that complain will
see ur complaint in about 6 months when he is helping
the cowboys
|
| March 18, 2006 02:06 a.m. |
I think that it will be wonderful this next season to
have T.O. on the field in a Cowboy uniform, and "hell"
next year when he wants a new contract! The big risk may
pay off!
|
| March 18, 2006 02:03 a.m. |
I like it..I mean, I don't like TO, but if he can help
the Cowboys win than who really cares??? Anyone who says
"I'll never watch the Cowboys again if TO plays" (as I
have heard from a couple of places) was never a Cowboys
fan to begin with, so good riddance...You will all
miraculously be Cowboys fans again by mid-season if they
are winning, so stop the off-season crying.
|
| March 18, 2006 02:02 a.m. |
Woo freaking hoo!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:59 a.m. |
I think if TO comes here he may just straighten out. He
has to know this may be his last shot and winning with
any team. He messes up here, he can kiss any other team
wanting him. Parcells is not Andy Reid, no way he takes
any crap from any player. And Bledsoe will not take any
crap either. Cowboys just need to cover their bases on
the money.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:58 a.m. |
I am done with JJ and the Cowboys if this deal happens.
The star use to mean something. Jerry has totally
trashed that!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:58 a.m. |
By Looking at how accurate and explosive Bledsoe's
passes had been thrown all last season, I say just let
Drew Bledsoe stand in the pocket with an upgraded O-Line
, and have him sling passes all over the field to the
extremely talented T.O. Throw Terry Glenn and Jason
Witten into the mix, and you got your best cowboys
passing game since the Troy , Michael , Alvin Harper ,
and Jay Novacek era. Can you say NFC champs?
|
| March 18, 2006 01:55 a.m. |
|
|
| March 18, 2006 01:54 a.m. |
This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the
Cowboys. Jerry Jones needs to sell the team if he is
going to make moves like this. I love the Cowboys and
have been a DIE HARD since I was a child, but having a
stupid punk like Owens on the team is something that
might cause me to root for a different team. The man has
caused MAJOR problems on every team he has been with. He
will do far worse harm than good for the Cowboys. He ran
Steve Mariucci out of town in San Francisco, he pissed
off Andy Reid so much that he fired him in the middle of
the season, and the Cowboys need him??? Why??? If this
happens Jerry Jones owes all Cowboys fans a big
explanation. We are supposed to have more class than
this. T.O., if you hear this, just know that all Cowboys
fans hate you and can't wait for you to leave even
before you got here.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:53 a.m. |
T.O. is a skilled reciever, and he's a complete moron as
well. Should be a lock to make the team. Way to go,
Jerry.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:51 a.m. |
The biggest risk with T. O. is that he can prevent a
team from winning a Super Bowl. The Cowboys weren't
going to win regardless. This is a minimal-risk risky
move.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:49 a.m. |
We hated Jerry Jones when he fired Tom Laundry and there
will be plenty of haters "for show" with T.O. coming to
town. It's risky business for the Cowboys and it is
T.O.'s last opportunity to redeem his image. I will hold
my breath, cross my fingers and turn back flips, if we
can all just get along. Now if Dallas can get pass the
black quarterback complex- then this will truly be
America's Team. Go Cowboys!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:46 a.m. |
It can be a dangerous thing when Jerry Jones thinks too
much. I can still remember when he thought he did not
need Jimmy Johnson, that Barry Switzer could coach
adults and when he thought he was the smartest suit in
professional sports. How did that work out? Oh yeah, not
quite so nice! Ten years since a Super Bowl trophy?
Somebody please pass him some smelling salts.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:43 a.m. |
The Raiders have always had the distinction of having
refugee veterans join their team but if you look at
Cowboy history, we've had our share of wild men too.
Lance Rentzel, Chuck Howley, Charles Haley to name few
and let's not forget Pete Gent's book detailing some of
the goings on way back then. The fact of the matter is
that the Cowboys need a receiver of this magnitude and
TO needs a new start. He's going to put his heart into
taking this team to another level and I am going to love
seeing the NFC east try to defend against him, Terry
Glenn, Jason Witten, Julius Jones, Marion Barber,
Patrick Crayton all on the same team. This team's fans
love winners and hate losing, we rode Drew Pearson out
on a rail when he still had some good games left in him
but will not give Owens a chance? Parcells has plenty of
experience with players that are hard to handle, LT,
Leonard Marshall, Keyshawn twice and the list goes on.
He's about winning and so should we all be. Sharpen your
pencils Colishaw and soften your palate because you are
going to eat some crow, not that you'd ever admit it.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:35 a.m. |
If they sign Owens, I am going to go tailgate at Texas
Stadium this week!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:33 a.m. |
I think that it is well worth the risk. If we get
anything close to his normal performance on the field,
it will open up everything. Dallas will be able to
stretch the field with Terry Glen and also control the
clock with the running game because of T.O's presence.
T.O. has to make this work as far as his off field
behavior. No team will ever want to take him if he fails
in this situation. He will not be asked to carry this
football team There are too many weapons, so teams will
be forced to pick their poison. We will now just have to
shift our focus to the o-line and get it where it needs
to be. I see us in the Super Bowl within two years.
September seems so far way now.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:33 a.m. |
you got to be kidding me, jerry should just sell the
team and let bill retire .. I think they shoud start
testing coaches and owners for substance abuse because
they have smoked themselves retarded... Ex Cowboys fan
|
| March 18, 2006 01:31 a.m. |
This is horrible! It's hard enough for Cowboys players
and NFL players to set good examples for our nation's
youth, without having this brat get rewarded for
despicable behavior. Nobody wants to lose, especially in
Dallas, but nobody wanted to lose in Philadelphia
either. How many times and how many ways can Jerry Jones
sell his soul to the devil? I don't care if Owens brings
10 consecutive Super Bowl victories to Dallas taking the
high road would have been far better in this case.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:24 a.m. |
Angels of mercy defend us, the barbarians are at the
gates. BUT, our offense just got scary as hell. If we
solve (or at least adequately address) the issues at FS,
OLB, and OT, there's no one in the league that scares
me. The clock is ticking... we've got one season before
this will unravel. Let's keep our collective fingers
crossed.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:24 a.m. |
i hate t.o. PERIOD. I don't care where he plays.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:22 a.m. |
Embarassing. No class, no respect. Simply embarassing. A
very sad day in Cowboy history.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:21 a.m. |
He has no right to bear the honorable star with the act
like that.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:17 a.m. |
Terrell is a joke! C'mon Jerry. Will you stop at nothing
to put butts in the seats? If Owens shows up here, I've
watched my last Cowboys game as a fan. I have a lot of
sympathy for Coach Parcells. Obviously Jerry thinks (and
I emphazize thinks) that he knows more than big Bill. I
knew that Jones would get in the way of the Cowboys
progress at some point. Good 'ol Mr. Socks and Jocks...
|
| March 18, 2006 01:14 a.m. |
all you guys that think TO wont help the cowboys and
those that are saying they wont watch anymore cowboys
games or jerry jones should be let go and blah blah blah
are simply idiots...even though he can be a teamwrecker,
he knows this is his last chance in the nfl and if he
messes this up, then he wont be back in the league, so
he surely knows what him doing wwhat he did in sf and
philly will do to him....and please gimme a break if all
you haters think that he won't help us win....he will
have to shut his mouth or he wont have a job anymore in
the nfl...and all those that say they wont watch
"anymore cowboy games" are ridiculous because i know the
moment he scores a TD for us in TX stadium youll be
jumping off your butts....this is the best move for us
to win agian (a foreign concept the last 10 years)....im
ecstatic over the deal because it finally brings us a
dynamic reciever and this will only make everyone on the
team betta...jones will have more lanes, gleen and
witten will have more one on one coverage, and defense
will be off the field longer....so all you haters,
please shut your mouths....you guys will be back on the
bandwagon soon...as soon as TO gets us back to winning
you guys will act like you never said what your saying
now....GREAT MOVE JERRY...dont listen to all the
haters....they know nothing
|
| March 18, 2006 01:12 a.m. |
YUK, look for the same crap here as in philly. He is a
player that thinks he is the game. Well he is not.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:11 a.m. |
We now have the best wide reciever in the game, and a
big-time playmaker on offense. TO welcome to big D, and
Drew please give him the ball, after all he is our best
player.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:11 a.m. |
Never in all my days of being a cowboy fan, have I felt
so disrepected. My loyalty to the cowboys is finally
over. I feel dirty. I thought we were trying to build
respect by being clean. After hearing we signed Owens I
feel as if I need a bath to wash the scum of
embarassment away. I thought Coach Parcells was going to
use his intelligence to win us a Superbowl, not tarnish
his reputation by signing a cancer. I am NO LONGER A
COWBOY FAN.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:10 a.m. |
Its all about money. T.O. will bring fans out just to
see what he might or might not do. The more fans in the
seats the more money in Jerrys pocket. And it just might
help get Dallas back in the playoffs. The Cowboys are
not Super Bowl bound anytime soon so its do what you
have to do to make a buck.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:08 a.m. |
This can be either REALLY great or REALLY bad for both
the Cowboys and TO. We can all only hope now for the
good outcome. I would like to see T.O. become a good
teammate and a leader. It might be wishful thinking but
no one really knows what will happen. If we pay T.O.
what he feels like he's worth, maybe he will perform,
keep quiet, and become the player he can really be.
|
| March 18, 2006 01:06 a.m. |
the first thought into my mind was andi quote " you're
joking"
|
| March 18, 2006 01:04 a.m. |
So, the Cowboys are going to sign "the worst of the
worst"? They will be throwing all pride, integrity, and
respect into the garbage! Might as well start handing
out steroids to all the players and while you're at it,
install some stripper's poles for the cheerleaders.
Terrell Owens with a star on his helmet? You really
ought to be ashamed Jerry Jones! You couldn't possibly
sink any lower. T.O. doesn't know the first thing about
being a champion. Obviously Jerry doesn't either. T.O.
is no guarantee of a title, but he is a guarantee that
the Cowboys are no longer deserving of any respect.
"America's Team" is absolutely dead and I will be
rooting AGAINST the cowboys from now on! Disgusting!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:02 a.m. |
It's a tragic mistake, he do to the Cowboys what he did
to the Eagles, tear'em down and prvide plenty of
controversy that this club definitely does not need
right now. PROVE ME WRONG T.O.!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 01:01 a.m. |
T.O. makes the Cowboys better on paper, and that's where
the good news (and apparently the thought that went into
this decision) ends. What if T.O. proves that he's a
team cancer (and frankly, there's not much left to prove
on that front)? Well, then signing him was an obvious
and monumental mistake. So what if T.O. swallows the
me-first attitude for a year or two, makes the Cowboys a
better team, and they win a super bowl? Is everyone OK
with that? To have perhaps the most selfish, egotistical
player in NFL history (and that's saying something) be
the face of a Dallas resurgence? And how long after that
do you think it would take for the ego to return? I'm
happy with my 12-year-old memories of Aikman, Irvin, and
Smith, thank you very much. Until the new batch of
heroes arrive, let's leave the trash on the curb. Jerry,
I promise I'll wait as long as it takes.

| March 18, 2006 00:59 a.m. |
Bring hom on. Stipulate fines for unsportsmanlike
condut, etc.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:58 a.m. |
DING! You are now allowed to move about the star.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:55 a.m. |
This sucks. Can't believe he's bringing him here. Have
we no pride left? I want to root for my cowboys, win or
lose, not owens. Hopefully he'll sprain something in
training camp and go on IR before he can become the
cancer tumor he is.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:55 a.m. |
Why sign a jerk like him? Jiminy Christmas.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:54 a.m. |
Greatness...the tuna will keep him in check!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:54 a.m. |
I hope they are doing this so they can trade him to
Houston for the first pick to get Vince Young. If T.O.
comes to Dallas, I will be running ads every week for
Cowboy fans to boycott Texas Staduim to show Jerry Jones
that the fans (who hate T.O. after his dance on the
star) still count.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:53 a.m. |
Terrell Owens a Cowboy. After his tauting dance moves in
the center of the field, even the Cowboys Cheerleaders
wouldn't take him. Please tell me Jerry Jones is just
off his meds? This is just wrong. -A lifelong fan living
in Irvine, California
|
| March 18, 2006 00:52 a.m. |
SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:52 a.m. |
just what the cowboys need...one more piece of evidence,
as if more was needed, of jerry jones idiocy. i'd rather
finish 4th in the conference every year for the next
twenty years than win a super bowl with this overrated,
overpaid, egomaniacal piece of detritus...
|
| March 18, 2006 00:50 a.m. |
Great. Jerry Jones is officially an idiot.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:50 a.m. |
Through it all, I have supported the Cowboys. I've
considered it part of my heritage, having first watched
Merideth to Hayes when I was 5 years old, sitting on my
GranDad's knee almost 40 years ago. When I was stationed
overseas in the late 1970's, my Dad used to call me at
halftime of Cowboys games (that came on at 6 a.m. in my
time zone) because it was the only time he knew he'd be
able to reach me for sure. I've sat along my Dad's grave
and given reports on the Cowboys SuperBowl victories in
the 1990's, telling how proud and happy he'd be if he
were here to have experienced it. Some losses have made
me physically ill. I, like so many others, have a small
shrine to the team in my home. I have too much
memorabilia to display all of it. I was one of the
people Jerry Jones mentioned when he aid that there were
100 people at St. Edwards University in Austin that came
out to watch them stripe the fields before the first
training camp there. Honestly, I was there and did that!
I've never been as upset as when Owens danced on the
star as a member of the 49'ers. I remember how proud I
was when Emmitt knocked the ball away from him, and then
the second time when George knocked him off of it.
Teague provided one of The Cowboys finest moments when
he did that. Owens had enough sense not to go to the
center star after that, but still made a mockery of it
by running to the endzone star in later games as a Niner
and then again as an Eagle. I will not watch another
Cowboys game as long as he's playing. If and when he's
out for any reason, I will watch and support my team.
Just as I look away every time replays of "The Catch" is
played on tv, I will look away from that man in a
Cowboys uniform. I can honestly say that I saw live
every yard that Emmitt Smith gained as a Cowboy. I will
not see a single that Owens does. I will not become a
fan of another team. I simply will do other things on
Sundays in the fall for the next year or 3. For me it's
always been Cowboys or nothing. Now it's nothing. I hope
his playing days in Dallas are brief. Andy Lough Austin

| March 18, 2006 00:50 a.m. |
I embraced Deion Sanders when he arrived in Dallas. I
even took a liking to one of his dances and used it
myself upon catching garter belts at several weddings.
Guess I'll just have to start standing on stars now!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:50 a.m. |
risky! but T.O. has to know if he acts like a jerk and
goes to another team he will get paid less and less
|
| March 18, 2006 00:49 a.m. |
Another good reason to go to Amon Carter Stadium and
watch the area's best college football program
|
| March 18, 2006 00:49 a.m. |
What a stupid move by Jerry Jones. He wins my "Moron of
the Century" award. A good player does not necesarily
make the "team" better.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:47 a.m. |
I am not impressed with TO I would never bring in a
player who is capible of doing to Dallas what he did to
Philly. Dallas can't even climb out of the barrel with a
5 million dollar coach,so why bring in a 5 million
dollar clown
|
| March 18, 2006 00:45 a.m. |
I can no longer cheer for the boys with that rat on the
team. EX cowyboys fan
|
| March 18, 2006 00:42 a.m. |
T.O. will bring a new life to the cowboys and build up
even more momentum in dallas. Superbowl baby!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:42 a.m. |
T.O. going to the Cowboys is a great thing. All those
fans out there saying theyll stop being Cowboys fans if
hes sighned arent real fans. Im a fan till the day I
day. Cowboys are winners, If you dont like to win watch
the lions or the cardinals. Me I like to see my team win
and thats what T.O. will help us do.WIN!!!!! They're
going to sighn him, and when we are winning every one of
you ship jumpers will be Cowboys fans.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:40 a.m. |
Parcells is an over rated prima donna who can no longer
coach. Owens completes a matched set: over rated and a
cancer to any team. The Cowboys have made some strange
moves, but this one will doom any chance of success for
years to come. A sad day.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:39 a.m. |
first td celebration is going to be on the star mark my
words )
|
| March 18, 2006 00:39 a.m. |
I do believe I'm boxing up my Cowboys gear and storing
it away for a while. It was horrible the way Jerry Jones
treated Tom Landry. It was tough to watch Charles Haley
wear our colors. It was nauseating every time Deion
Sanders acted like a jerk wearing a Cowboys uniform.
This exhausts my patience. I can forgive Jones for
anything if I can look past what he did to Landry, but
it will be extremely difficult to care about the Cowboys
with this self-centered loser on our side of the field.
I'll be back when this moron is gone.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:39 a.m. |
Dumb move. Thanks Jerry... really. Looks like I'll be
pulling for the Texans until TO and/or Jerry Jones leave
town.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:39 a.m. |
big time playmaker, knows he can't cause trouble or he
could very well be on his way out of the league, will
help cowboys for one or two years, great move
|
| March 18, 2006 00:38 a.m. |
stupid, stupid, stupid!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:38 a.m. |
A star player on the Cowboys that does not do drugs. I
think he's more than a great addition to our offense, he
might be one of the best role models the Cowboys have
seen in a long time.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:38 a.m. |
I LOVE IT MAN SUPER BOWL HERE WE COME
|
| March 18, 2006 00:37 a.m. |
Outstanding, TO does what he is supposed to do, score
touchdowns. Every fan will love him the first time he
scores twice in a game.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:37 a.m. |
Risk v Reward how in the world does Jerry Jones think
that the reward of signing Mr. Owens will outweigh the
risk. This is a bad business decision and a bad roster
move.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:35 a.m. |
I will never watch or follow the Dallas Cowboys again.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:34 a.m. |
The greatest Cowboy of them all, Tom Landry, is spinning
with the mere thought of this deal going through. This
is an embarrassment to all the great TEAM PLAYERS that
built what this organization once was. The Cowboys are
headed in the wrong direction - T.O.'s selfish play,
unprofessionalism and unpredictability is not the
answer.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:34 a.m. |
What? Satan wasn't a free agent this year? So we are
going to sign the most hated opponent in Cowboy history.
I can think of no other opponent who I would fight if I
saw him on the street other than T.O.O.( as in too full
of himself). Too bad George Teague didn't land a K.O.
blow to Owens at midfield. Maybe Diron Talbert is
available and we could add Buddy Ryan as a coach. The
Cowboys should steer clear of selfish players like TOO
who have no concept of team. I wouldn't sell my soul to
the Devil for a Super Bowl ring.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:33 a.m. |
Great move.....cowboys were not going anywhere with
keyshawn. Owens is a great talent.....every team he has
played for has benefitted despite his antics.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:32 a.m. |
Goodness, has everyone in Dallas forgotten about the
"TO/Midfield Taunting Incident"? And now we want this
guy on our team? Landry is turning over in his grave
right now. Also, someone in this thread said "don't
judge a book by its cover" and went on to sat that TO
would do just fine here in Dallas. Well, let't look at
the facts - TO has been a disruptive influence on both
the 49ers and the Eagles (fact, not opinion) and both
teams were more than happy to see him go. Owens has a
proven track record of negatively affecting team
chemistry and smart money says he does it in Dallas as
well. I can see why Jerry wants him (Owens always plays
hard and is one of the most productive receivers in the
game) especially since Mr. Jones has never shied away
from flamboyant playmakers (Irvin, Sanders, Haley).
However, I think that TO will be more of a headache than
a benifit. I still love the Cowboys and I'll still root
for them, but I willn't EVER be rooting for Owens.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:30 a.m. |
Jerry Jones has lost his mind, and this is the last sraw
for me. I am no longer a Cowboys fan. I don't care if
Owens gaurantees the Cowboys a Super Bowl, I am finished
as a fan. Jerry Jones has no class, first he dumps Tom
Landry, then fires Jimmy Johnson, cuts Troy and Emmitt,
and now he has made a deal with the devil. I'm finished
with the Cowboys and the NFL!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:30 a.m. |
Good move but can he make the cowboys to be super boul
winners?
|
| March 18, 2006 00:28 a.m. |
I can't believe they got this rat! It just set us back
another 3 years. Jerry Jones or Bill Parcells move?
Jerry
|
| March 18, 2006 00:27 a.m. |
The last time the Cowboys had a playmaker in the
offense, it was none other than Michael Irvin (ofcourse
with the help of Troy and Emmitt). Terrell Owens is the
type of player the Cowboys have been needing in a long
time. No one can question his (Owens) willingness to win
and play hard. Coach Parcells appreciates guys when they
put everything out on the field. With that being said, I
can remember early last year during mini-camp, Coach
Parcells wearing a shirt quoting "Winning is our
Business". TO might be the piece the Cowboys have been
missing in winning the last game of the season in
February.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:27 a.m. |
If this multi-million-dollar disaster get done, Jerry
needs to add another five bucks to the total cost. That
would represent the cost of the boxes he'll need to put
at the front entrance to Valley Ranch - boxes where I
can deposit everything I own with a Cowboy logo on it.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:27 a.m. |
I think signing T.O. is awesome. If T.O.'s smart, he has
learned that he has a no tolerance situation. Keyshawn
showed me nothing last year. He seemed to be coasting.
T.O. will come in hungry. This team has accomplished
absolutely nothing over the last few years. So what is
everybody afraid of? Atleast TO brings passion. I
thought this would happen last year when Bill Parcells
was asked to quote on the T.O. situation in Philly. He
didn't bite, all he said was "Hey he came back from a
broken ankle to play in the Super Bowl, that has to
impress anubody" I think right there, it has been Bill
pushing to get T.O. in here. I think T.O.'s work ethic
makes him a Bill Parcells kind of Guy. Afterall,
everyone said Bill and Jerry wouldn't last, Well Bill is
about to become the 2nd longest coach in Cowboys
history. Way to go Jerry and Bill. Now go get Vineteri!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:25 a.m. |
BS Jerry Jones. This brings the Cowboys status to a new
low. We are sorry Tom to what has happened to "our boys"
|
| March 18, 2006 00:24 a.m. |
A circus often has its freak shows and knife swallowers.
Now Jerry will eat crow when T.O. sticks his foot in his
mouth. When will the big-top be erected at Texas
Stadium?
|
| March 18, 2006 00:22 a.m. |
He is a good player that would help out the team, only
if the coaching staff could make him more of a "team
player". As long as he keeps his mouth shut, I am fine
with him on the team.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:21 a.m. |
To all the ignorant people who think this is a good
idea, you just wait and see. This is ridiculous.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:21 a.m. |
Unless they draft Vince Young, I will relinquish my
Cowboy allegiance of 20 years if T.O. is playing for
Dallas. Why would anyone wish for an invasive cancer?
|
| March 18, 2006 00:21 a.m. |
Disgusting, and a complete embarrassment and shame. I
for one, will not watch the cowboys this year due to
this decision.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:21 a.m. |
If they sign him, I have watched my last Cowboy game, &
I've been a loyal fan since 1960. I WILL NOT PATRONIZE A
TEAM THAT WOULD PUT THAT IDIOT ON THEIR ROSTER!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:19 a.m. |
I just moved here from Houston, and was ready to be a
Cowboys fan. I'll be happy to continue as a Texans fan.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:16 a.m. |
I cannot imagine Jerry getting a high profile (potential
problem) player like Owens without Bill's buy-in...if
fact, I'd like to think this is more of Bill's call than
Jerry's...if this is going to work...
|
| March 18, 2006 00:16 a.m. |
Why do the Cowboys insist on wasting money on damaged
goods? Anyone with a track record as bad as Owens has no
place on a professional team of any kind.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:16 a.m. |
I love me some T.O. Great pick up. They play to win the
game! GO Cowboys!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:15 a.m. |
So much for rooting for the Cowboys. What a disgrace,
signing a thug and a cancer like T.O.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:13 a.m. |
If we have to put up with him, let's at least win a
Super Bowl.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:13 a.m. |
Here's what I have to say. Anyone who considers
themselves a lifelong Cowboys fan wouldn't up and ditch
THEIR team because the signing of one talent, yet
terribly disturbed player. If you have been a Cowboys
fan for life, then post TO signing you'd still be a
Cowboy's fan for life. A team is 53 players (though TO
tries to defy this logic). Go be a Texans' fan. We don't
want you cheering on our Cowboys anyways. You'd probably
bail at the first sign of rough waters anyways. Good job
Jerry. Keep taking risks. We aren't winning as it is now
so roll that dice, baby!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:10 a.m. |
I can't stand OU, and I cheer for Roy Williams as a
Cowboy. I couldn't stand Deion Sanders flashy attitude,
and I cheered for him as a Cowboy. I won't cheer for
Terrell Owens He represents everything I dislike about
professional sports.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:09 a.m. |
Does this remind anyone of the TV series "Lost"?
|
| March 18, 2006 00:07 a.m. |
This is so bad. It is like making a deal with Stalin.
Here is a bit of shocking news . . . Jerry will be
expressing disappointment with T.O's behavior by week 2
of training camp.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:06 a.m. |
I can handle being 1-15 but this is too much. I have
finally had enough.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:06 a.m. |
No. No. No. No. No. No. George Teague had it right the
first time when he plastered him on the Texas Stadium
star.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:04 a.m. |
T.O. the player is the best wide receiver in the league.
I would HATE to have him on my team!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:04 a.m. |
I used to be a Cowboys fan........ before we hired all
the goofballs like "the Playmaker", "Neon Deon" , and
now "T.O.". We have a very bright owner that is really
only interested in selling tickets.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:04 a.m. |
In football or any other sport for that matter, there
are only two types of players, good ones and bad ones.
T.O. is a good one and that is what counts. Let his
mother worry about if he is a good person or not.Good
job Jerry!Go Cowboys!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:02 a.m. |
I stop watching all Dallas COwboy games and pay no
attention to them and turn off all sports radio. I won't
support the Cowboys an iota with TO here. Its not about
who he can be, its about idiocy and its all his and
Parcells and Jones have lost it. No money Jerry and No
wins Bill...why was it again you want him?
|
| March 18, 2006 00:01 a.m. |
If Jerry actually signs that knucklehead TO, then I
cannot support the Cowboys for as long as he is on the
team. I have been a Cowboy fan almost my entire life,
but I cannot root for and support someone like that. And
no way will I go to a game, I am not giving that punk
one dime of my money, no way. The man has talent, there
is no disputing that. But to support someone like that
goes against things that I stand for. In addition, what
is Jerry thinking??? TO has already wrecked two pretty
good teams, what makes him think he is gonna change now?
This is so pathetically dumb on Jerry's part, it's sad.
|
| March 18, 2006 00:00 a.m. |
Our enemy's(Philly)enemy(Owens)is now our friend. How
awesome!!!!
|
| March 18, 2006 00:00 a.m. |
This is great!!!! The saga about T.O. is overrated. He
just wanted to be respected for the player he is. The
Eagles were also the blame for not honoring the player
that helped them to the Super Bowl.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:59 p.m. |
He'll blow up at Bledsoe by week 7. Next question.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:59 p.m. |
If t.o. becomes a Cowboy, I hope Roy Williams gives him
the same greeting the old 31 George Teague did after
that second disgracing of the star. I thought Jones did
a very low thing in firing Tom Landry without even
having the guts to let him know in person. Bring t.o. to
Dallas is even worse. The whole Randy Moss thing of not
being drafting due to character is an utter joke now.
How can t.o. be better with his track record. I won't
become a Texans fan, but Dallas will be hard to watch
with him on the team.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:59 p.m. |
Do you remember the star incident? He's also an ex 49er.
Real cowboy fans don't forget! what a mistake! I don't
care how many receptions or touchdowns he produces for
the team! Jerry Jones is a sell out! Get some fresh new
talent from the draft!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:58 p.m. |
i am tired of hearing people criticize the Cowboys TO
signing. He won't be a problem because he has never been
in a "last chance" situation before. And for the theory
that parcells is not on board with this : that is
ridiculous. Jerry would not make a move with this much
attention on the character of the player if big bill was
not on board. he is an elite reciever, probably the best
in the leauge and bill will control him.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:58 p.m. |
Didn't Jerry say something about an image thing for the
Cowboys...after the party boys of the middle 90's ? Mr.
Owens image is not of the " party type ", but his all
about me attitude in a team sport is not a good thing
for the Dallas Cowboys. Aikman, Smith or Irvin are not
around to keep him in line in the locker room and who's
in that locker room that will do that now ?. Coach
Parcells is not a baby sitter. Whats the under on the
first blow up ?
|
| March 17, 2006 11:58 p.m. |
toss the dice. His skills are compelling but his
attitude has been the pits. Which one would show up in
Dallas
|
| March 17, 2006 11:58 p.m. |
i am a die hard Cowboys fan and I Love it...Even though
people will criticize this signing, after the first td
people will shut up and cheer for T.O. so people dont be
ignorent deep down you are happy
|
| March 17, 2006 11:58 p.m. |
wonderful. I will enjoy sticking it to the eagles for
the next few years - at least this year anyway. :)
Seriously, the dude will work out in Dallas. I bet he
made a stink in Philly, because he had Irvin in his ear.
Irvin should be hailed for this move. It will be a lot
of fun. I never cared that he insulted the star. I
thought it was funny. And i have been a Cowboys fan
since I was 10 over 26 years. Signed, life-long cowboys
fan
|
| March 17, 2006 11:57 p.m. |
It's like the problems of the 90's...without the rings.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:57 p.m. |
TO better not step foot in Texas until he sincerely
appoligizes for the "Star" incident. I will boo him
non-stop even if he bring 5 more Super Bowls to Dallas.
He is a complete and total disgrace to the game of
football, not to mention the Cowboys. I am a very loyal
and proud Cowboys fan, but today for the first time
ever, I am ashamed and embarrassed to say so. TO should
not be allowed to wear the Star on the helmet in
practice or games. Parcells should treat him like all
the other rookies. Here's to hoping Roy Williams does to
him in practice what he did in 2 years ago in a game.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:57 p.m. |
If the Tuna can keep TO's ego in check and if TO will
apologize for the Star incident, then we will be fine.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:56 p.m. |
I like what he can do on the field, but it's not worth
it considering the problems that are inevitable off the
field. And we all know about "the Star" incident. Will
Cowboys fans be willing to forgive and forget? Not right
away if ever.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:56 p.m. |
Any talent beats the talent we have had out on the field
the last ten years. At least Terrell Owens can help win
football games. I could give a rats butt how he behaves
in the locker room if he helps the Cowboys be winners
again. I applaud Jerry Jones for signing talent,
regardless of the negative publicity.

Not a cowboy fan so....HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA................enjoy the ride.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:56 p.m. |
Huge mistake. They turn down Randy Moss, but take
someone ten times as bad??? Jerry Jones is a bigger
idiot than I ever imagined.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:56 p.m. |
I THINK T. O. WILL MAKE A GREAT FIT HERE IN DALLAS. I
LIVE HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO, AND WHEN HE WAS HERE, I
ALWAYS THOUGHT HE WOULD LOOK BETTER WEARING SILVER AND
BLUE. HIS ATTITUDE AND WORK ETHIC FIT THE COWBOY SETTING
MUCH BETTER....
|
| March 17, 2006 11:55 p.m. |
This reinforces the fact that all Jerry knows how to do
is win. No matter how much you want to hate this move,
it no different than being competative in the business
world and hiring the top prospect on the market to
improve your firm - at any cost. Yes, there is some
baggage that you bring along with T.O. but part of the
gamble is the potential pay off. Go 'boys! KDub

| March 17, 2006 11:53 p.m. |
I have hated Terrell Owens since that game in 2000,
which I happened to attend. I seriously can't think of
another player that I have more contempt for than him.
That being said, I would say if there is any coach in
the NFL that could harness TO, it would be the big Tuna.
So, I guess if he comes, I'll do the unthinkable and
cheer on the idiot known as TO. But I warn my fellow
Cowboy fans to enjoy this honeymoon year, because once
it's over, I promise we will see the ugly cancer rear
its head and infect our team.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:53 p.m. |
Jerry is getting to big for his britches. Just because
he owns the Cowboys he can do anything he wants, and
people will bow down and kiss his feet. He goes out and
hoodwinks the people of Arlington, and steals their
homes. For goodness sakes there's alot of open land in
North Texas to put a stadium without disrupting a whole
bunch of people. Now he wants to bring a disruptive
person into a team seatting that doesn't need a
self-centered person. I hate to say it, but I hope it's
a big flop. I guess history doesn't mean anything to
Jones.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:53 p.m. |
The Cowboys are in great need of a star player now that
the Redskins have stepped up their team with new wide
recievers and other varies players. Terrell Owens will
be the guy to help the Cowboys compete with the new
revamped Redskins team.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:53 p.m. |
I'm a Cowboy fan no more.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:52 p.m. |
Way to go Jerry!!! Finally we get a big signing that
blows away anything that the lowly skins have done. This
team needed it's swagger back and that's exactly what TO
brings to the table. Keyshawn has a swagger that's
similar but he doesn't change the game the way this guy
does. People worty about him disrupting the team but
it's worth it considering the team hasn't accomplished
anything in years. It's a great signing.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:52 p.m. |
If Terrell Owens is really coming to play for Dallas it
won't be for long. Parcells will get enough of Owens and
send him on his disgusting way.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:51 p.m. |
As a Cowboy fan of 25 years, I can't stand it. He better
apologize for desecrating the STAR, twice... But it
reminds me of signing Deion Sanders back in 95. I'll
cheer for him as a Cowboy, but I won't celebrate his
rediculous celebrations. Act like you've been there
before, TO. And then, maybe you'll convert some Cowboy
fans....
|
| March 17, 2006 11:51 p.m. |
I hate it, i used to be a big cowboy fan but each year
parcells has been here i have cared a little less and
now this will end it for me. I hate TO with a passion
and to see him in a cowboy uniform is a disgrace.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:50 p.m. |
Wasn't Charles Haley supposed to be troublesome and a
locker room cancer? This is one of the final pieces to
the puzzle!! He has been humbled and T.O. knows that
this is his last hoorah...no risk for the Cowboys to
sign him....what's the alternative, Keyshawn?
|
| March 17, 2006 11:50 p.m. |
I believe in giving people second chances BUT the man's
caused trouble wherever he's been. In case HE'S NOT
LEARNED FROM IT there needs to be a LITTLE or NO
TOLERANCE clause (up front). It might not be a bad idea
to bring back Randy White to teach him some manners. Bet
Dat Playa
|
| March 17, 2006 11:49 p.m. |
I think it is a great move. T.O. is a top 5 receiver in
the league. His numbers are the bottom line. I just wish
JJ had done the same thing with Edgerrin James.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:49 p.m. |
I believe Terrell Owens better have learned his lesson.
If so, we've all seen where his talents can take a team.
If not, we've also seen how his attitude can destroy a
team. Hopefully the Tuna can keep him in line. Go
Cowboys!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:48 p.m. |
After all these days of speculation and rumors I've had
time to get used to the idea of TO becoming a Cowboy. I
still don't like it and I will never forget what he did
on the star in the past. All I can say, is that we
better not have given him the farm, I hope there are a
lot of incentive clauses and good behavior clauses.
Finally, for this to be successful we better have a
Superbowl Championship to show for it, being that we
have lowered ourselves to Terrell's level and have in
essence made a pact with the devil.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:47 p.m. |
The Cowboys are stupid to sign that idiot Terrel Owens.
He goes into Dallas Stadium and disrespects the Star and
you sign this guy? I am Pittsburgh Steeler fan and my
brother is a Cowboys fan. I think it is hilarious that
Jerry Jones signed him! He will cause problems in the
locker room and even if he behaves the cowboys are not
going anywhere with Drew Bledsoe as Quarterback! I can
not wait to watch this blow up!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:46 p.m. |
What I cant stand is all the ignorant fake fans that say
"I will find a new team or never root for Dallas again",
GOOD!!! See you fair weather fans later!! You are
probably the same ones dogging the Cowboys when they
were losing but lined up to buy their gear when they
start winning! If you are a true fan you would be
excited by getting a player with TO's talent! Yeah he
has personality problems but so did Irvin and he got put
in the ring of honor!! Keyshawn was a tool in Tampa and
wrote a book dogging the Jets but NO problems here. Bill
handled Keyshawn and Lawerance Taylor with NO problems
so what makes people think that TO wont be the same?! TO
has never had a coach with a backbone that will stand up
to him. SF and Phili neither one had an in your face
coach that will bench you if you act up. Reed was as
close as it got but he backed down when TO called his
bluff! One thing you cant ever dispute is TO's work
ethic! He is ripped and plays 100% every play in
practice or a game unlike Moss who people talk so much
about us passing up on! TO is arguably a top 2 reciever
in the league and we are getting him for nothing! Plus
he saw his market dwindle to almost nothing and im sure
he knows that if he messes up again this could be it.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:46 p.m. |
I am so excited. The Cowboys are getting one of the best
recievers playing righr now. He will be very valuable to
this team. I think missing all of the games he did has
humbled him. He will respect Bill Parcells and the
Cowboys will win the division. I know we will not see
him arguing with any of the coaches on the sideline in
Dallas.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:46 p.m. |
i'm not a cowboys fan anymore
|
| March 17, 2006 11:45 p.m. |
All you fairweather Cowboys fans out there need to get
off the T.O. hater bandwagon. I'm not a fan of T.O., but
I am a fan of seeing the Cowboys go deep into the
playoffs. He's got the talent to help with that. Does
anyone out there honestly doubt that Parcells can keep
this guy under wraps? Parcells has made a name for
himself by taking talented hotheads and turning them
into great contributors. So when it's all said and done,
all you fans that take your support elsewhere just means
that true fans like myself can get better tickets to
home games!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:45 p.m. |
|
|
| March 17, 2006 11:44 p.m. |
Terrell Owens is the scum of the NFL. The silver on the
Cowboys helmet just got tarnished.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:44 p.m. |
He couldn't handle Donovan McNabb, and Cowboy fans think
Drew Bledsoe is gonna make him happy? Ha! this is gonna
be really funny. the decline of the Cowboy franchise
continues...
|
| March 17, 2006 11:44 p.m. |
He is a totally self-absorbed smart aleck who puts his
wishes ahead of those of a team. He should not be a
Cowboy.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:43 p.m. |
The Dallas press is funny!! They always say the Cowboys
need to go after the best player. Then when they do they
get scared cause the player has a little baggage. Lets
just let Jerry and Bill worry about T.O. Signing him
sure can't hurt our offense!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:41 p.m. |
HE BETTER BE THE BEST EVER!! OTHERWISE, HE AND JJ WILL
BE RUN OUT OF TOWN ON A RAIL!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:41 p.m. |
I just hope its NOT so! T.O. spells TrOuble for the
Cowboys!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:40 p.m. |
It is amazing what time will do. We all know the saying
that "Time Heals all Wounds" but it seems in this case
that "Time also causes one to forget old wounds as
well". Remember back in 1998 where the Cowboys wanted to
change their image because players such as Sherman
Williams, Clayton Holmes, and in particular Michael
Irvin's off the field problems cause the Cowboy star to
be tarnished. Their activities caused this franchise not
to select Randy Moss because of his past history and
former players past problems. Now Jerry seems to have
forgotten that philosophy by signing T.O. If anyone was
or should be labeled a "distraction" to a team it is
T.O. This franchise could have gone in another direction
in obtaining a quality receiver in free agency before
"settling" for Owens. If this signing comes to pass, not
only will Terrell Owens be a distraction for his
teammates, he will also be a distraction for the media
as well as Dallas fans because we will all be waiting
for the moment when T.O. goes nuts and creates a scene
in this town rather than focussing on the thing that we
all would rather see: a team striving to reach the Super
Bowl.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:40 p.m. |
Bring up Jerry and the Landry firing, get over it. We're
going on 20 years, get a life already. I would bet that
TO will not come in and do what he has done, this is not
how he will want to be remembered, and hes not signing
for money he doesn't want, hes got Rosenhaus now, he'll
be happy with his money. Bledsoe, Owens, Glenn, Julius,
rebuilt O line, lets get some offense in this damn city
and score some points...
|
| March 17, 2006 11:39 p.m. |
I've got 40 years of my life emotioinally invested in
this team from Buffalo, NY and I find it ironic that the
same people who would say that no one player or coach is
ever bigger than the legacy of the franchise will jump
from the legacy...because of one player. The hypocracy
is astounding.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:39 p.m. |
The best move the Cowboys have made in years!!!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:38 p.m. |
Absurd!!!!! I was a Cowboys fan for all of my 28 years
on this earth, until today. I hate Jerry Jones and what
he has done to the team since the glory days of the
early 90s. Guess I'm now a Houston fan.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:38 p.m. |
I am officially not a cowboys fan any longer, thank you
Jerry.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:37 p.m. |
That's it! I'm no longer a Cowboys fan. I stomached Dion
Sanders, was appalled by them moving to Arlington, but
this is the last straw. Does Jerry Jones not have a
moral compass to sign such a jerk who is only interested
in himself and not being a team player? What am I
saying, of course he doesn't. I'm soley a Steelers fan
now. Bill Cowher I love ya!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:35 p.m. |
Why, why, why would Jerry do this? I know he wants the
Cowboys to win. So do I. But at what cost? The risk he
is taking with this type of volatile person is crazy.
Does he really think Bill can or will handle T.O.? I'm
sure they have had plenty of discussions about this but
Bill and T.O. That's like fuel on an open flame. Don't
get yourself burned Jerry. Oh, and the team and the fans
as well.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:35 p.m. |
We'll see what happens. There are only 2 ways this can
go.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:34 p.m. |
You are all crazy, al he ver did was say he should get
his contract redone. Funny how when a player doesnt
perform he gets cut from the team, yet when they go
above & beyond they dont get rewarded?? I have no
problem with with to going to dallas, & I have been a
cowboys fan for 30 years. People need to grow up &
realize that these players are being used, the contracts
arent "binding". At anytime a player can be cut. Im on
TO's side. Although I dont agree with with some of his
teammate bashing. With him we will go farther than we
will without him. Talentwise hes probably the best
receiver in the league. And I doubt very much as we see
from Ron Artest now on the sacremento Kings that he will
be dumb enough to act up anytime soon. Thats my opinion.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:33 p.m. |
Do the Cowboys (and the NFL) have no pride? This is the
same jerk who has poisoned every team he has played for.
Does anyone else remember him standing on the Star wih
only George Teague having the pride to do anything about
it? I am very disappointed in this move and may not be
able to forgive Jerry for this one.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:33 p.m. |
Been a Cowboy fan all my life. THIS HURTS!!!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:31 p.m. |
I will not cheer for the Cowboys while TO wears a star
on his helmet.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:31 p.m. |
TO can be a good team player and will be. He was his
first year for the Birds but then he wanted mo money.
Expect the Boys to challenge for the Super Bowl!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:31 p.m. |
SAY IT AIN'T SO, NO NO T.O.!! THE BUILDING BLOCKS THAT
BILL HAS BEEN PUTTING TOGETHER ARE ALL GOING TO COME
TUMBLING DOWN WITH THIS TROUBLE MAKER. THE COWBOYS ARE
MORE THAN ONE "SUPER??" RECIEVER AWAY FROM BEING A
DOMINATING MULTI-YEAR PLAYOFF TEAM. YOU WILL RUE THE
DAY, MR.JONES!!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:30 p.m. |
Will not watch anymore Cowboys game if TO becomes a
Cowboys.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:29 p.m. |
If the Cowboys come out of the gate 8-2, TO will be a
good soldier. But if this team stumbles, the whole thing
can fall apart. Jerry is rolling the dice here and I
hope it does not come up snake eyes.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:29 p.m. |
GOOD MOVE AS LONG AS T.O. COMES IN AND CAN BE A TEAM
PLAYER
|
| March 17, 2006 11:27 p.m. |
all you haters--shut up..the cowboys are going out and
getting people who will help them WIN..Hear that..thats
a word that has been tossed around for far too long and
its time to be serious. TO will benefit the Dallas
Cowboys
|
| March 17, 2006 11:27 p.m. |
IT'S IS THE BEST MOVE OF ALL.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:26 p.m. |
If and when he becomes a Cowboy, then he can stand on
the star when he scores!!! Hopefully, it will happen a
LOT!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:26 p.m. |
Terrell is the most important addition to the boys since
Dion, and if healthy, should help them reach the
playoffs. Way to go Jerry!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:26 p.m. |
Time to really start pullin' for that wretched team in
Houston. The Cowboys will be back in the rebuilding mode
have way through the next season with a Super Bowl
slipping away over the horizon with the sunset.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:26 p.m. |
Hell of a talent. Complete jackass.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:25 p.m. |
Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in nine seasons, the
longest such streak in team history. You can't break
what's already broken so there's zero risk in bringing
T.O. aboard. Worst case, the team implodes and finishes
4-12. Really, what's the difference between 4-12 and 9-7
or 10-6? Nothing but a higher draft pick the following
year! Nobody remembers who finishes 2nd, 16th or dead
last. It's all about Championships in the NFL and Dallas
is closer than they were Thursday. CT
|
| March 17, 2006 11:25 p.m. |
TO is a great football player. I won't be buying his
jersey or anything but as long as he helps Dallas win
then it is a great signing.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:25 p.m. |
Personally, I think T.O. will simmer down under the
director of authoritarian Parcells and really come into
his element as a Cowboy. I think he will wise up and
ball out of control for Big D.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:24 p.m. |
I will never support the Cowboys again. Jery Jones needs
to be ran out of town.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:24 p.m. |
This is a good fit. T O has always been in a situation
where he was loved first and then hated. We all know
that Coach Parcells has a proven track record of dealing
with troubled players. GO COWBOYS
|
| March 17, 2006 11:23 p.m. |
I think this is a great for the Dallas Cowboys. The
Redskins have signed numerous free agents this
offseason, this will definitely make the cowboys a team
to be feared. They now have the receiver that they have
not had since Michael Irvin.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:22 p.m. |
If the man could only just shut up and play the game of
football. Walter Camp is probably spinning in his grave
right now.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:22 p.m. |
I hope Jerry Jones has a plan for the Cowboys after T.O
destroyes This team
|
| March 17, 2006 11:22 p.m. |
If this is true I hope they lose every game they play
while he is here. I can't wait to see the day when he
fight's Big Bill on the sideline.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:22 p.m. |
i think it is good but he need to control his temper
|
| March 17, 2006 11:21 p.m. |
If they get Owens, I won't be watching the Cowboys this
season.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:21 p.m. |
I'm against it. Owens will bring productivity but at
what price? And Dallas needs a young receiver, not
another 30 something athlete. He's Michael Irvin without
the sense of team spirit. And that was the only thing
that made Irvin tolerable.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:21 p.m. |
Good, maybe great if contract is for 1-2 yrs and
incentive laden. If he works out ? Bargain of the year
!!! He messes up ? Cut him !! Hard to see how we lose
under this formula.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:21 p.m. |
I'm okay with it, but he needs to go to midfield after
his 1st TD catch at Texas stadium, kneel down, kiss the
star, and then jog to the sidelines and give the ball to
Parcells. This would be a good way for him to apologize
to the fans and be accepted by his teammates as well.
BTW, the Cowboys should also re-sign KeyShawn!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:20 p.m. |
You have got to be kidding. Why would they even consider
this?
|
| March 17, 2006 11:19 p.m. |
|
|
| March 17, 2006 11:18 p.m. |
I have been a Cowboy fan for as long as I can remember.
One of my earliest memories is of the Cowboys winning
Super Bowl VII. I now live in Seattle, and have Directv
specifically for the NFL Sunday Ticket package so that I
can watch all of the Cowboys games. But that will change
with the signing of Owens. I can't root for a team with
him on it. You can mark me down as the newest Houston
Texans' fan. Goodbye to Jerry...
|
| March 17, 2006 11:18 p.m. |
Greatness, i will be there jumping up and down when he
scores and runs to middle field and stands on the star,
along with every other cowboys fan!!!!! Super Bowl!!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:17 p.m. |
let him play, but keep his mouth duct-taped at all times
|
| March 17, 2006 11:17 p.m. |
Hey in the NFL no contracts are guaranteed so take him
and see how he does! If he trips out, cut him, BUT "BOY
YOU GOTTA TAKE HIM"! Lemon
|
| March 17, 2006 11:17 p.m. |
bout time they got another hall calibur player. he has
his issues but it seems to always be about being pd.
sure that immature to put himself in front of the team
but if he is pd what he thinks hes worth up front then
he shld be free to play up to hs considerable skills.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:16 p.m. |
Just another reason for America to continue hating the
Cowboys.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:16 p.m. |
If he helps us win a Super Bowl it's just fine with me,
I'm aware of the risks but I think it's worth taking a
chance on.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:16 p.m. |
I said a week ago when the possibility of Owen's coming
to the Cowboys, that I will find a new team to follow.
Wasn't this the same owner that would not draft Randy
Moss because he didn't fit the new "morality" that
Calvin Hill was hired to lead.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:13 p.m. |
Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys have no integrity.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:12 p.m. |
I thought that Javon Walker would have been a better fit
for the Cowboys.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:12 p.m. |
Is any Cowboy fan truly excited about this?! I expect
the emotions range from cautious to outraged. My needle
is tipping significantly toward the latter.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:11 p.m. |
|
|
| March 17, 2006 11:11 p.m. |
Jerry and T.O. richly deserve each other. Both are
proven jerks.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:10 p.m. |
This may be the one that get Jerry Jones run out of town
|
| March 17, 2006 11:10 p.m. |
I like this guy. It's good theater.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:10 p.m. |
I've been a die-hard Cowboy fan for 38 years. I never
liked the way Jerry Jones handled the dismissal of Tom
Landry but managed to live with his ownership as best I
could to remain a fan. Signing this poor excuse for a
"professional" player is the act that will finally cause
me to sever my true support of this team. Anything has a
price I guess. Good luck Jerry.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:09 p.m. |
We don't need to win that badly!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:09 p.m. |
Keyshawn Johnson had similar problems in Tampa with
Coach Gruden. After he came to Dallas I haven't seen an
attitude problem yet. If Coach Parcells can cure
Keyshawn Johnson of the attitude problem I don't have
one doubt that Terrell Owens can't be cured also.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:08 p.m. |
While I believe there is questions about his character
and attitude, you cannot deny the "playmaker" ability
that he has. He is the best wide receiver in the game,
period. Others want to call him a cancer and are quick
to say he will wreck the Dallas Cowboys. Let's not judge
a book by its cover. The last time that happened, all we
heard is how Parcells and Jones couldn't co-exist
|
| March 17, 2006 11:08 p.m. |
Depending on the contract this is a great move or a
great bust.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:07 p.m. |
Ugh. He's a great player, don't get me wrong. But I
don't want him on the team. Even if Big Bill can control
him...if it's a three year deal and Bill is here for
only two (or even one) of them...how're we going to
handle him when Big Bill is gone?
|
| March 17, 2006 11:06 p.m. |
It just goes to show you what this game has become.
Hopefully Parcells can keep him in check long enough to
win a superbowl but other than that i think the
negatives may be too much. As a Cowboy fan, i hope this
works, i still feel kind of weird about signing a guy
who 'punked' the Cowboy Star on the 50 yard line.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:06 p.m. |
Sounds great. Now most of the morons in the NFL are on 1
team. At least the cowboys have to moron market cornered
on owner, coach and wide receiver. We have come a long
way since Tom Landry. I'm glad he isn't alive to see
this mess.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:06 p.m. |
He has disrepected the star, now he will be wearing one
- Sadly ironic
|

What's T.O gonna being ruining??? It's been 10 years
since we have won a playoff game! Welcome T.O.! Go
Cowboys!!!!
|
| March 17, 2006 11:05 p.m. |
I hope they lose every game with that guy.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:04 p.m. |
No! No! No! We do not need T.O.. If he becomes a Dallas
Cowboy, I am no longer a Cowboy fan.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:01 p.m. |
It will make the team better, and that is what matters.
|
| March 17, 2006 11:00 p.m. |
Just when you think morality and dedication are turning
the corner at the Cowboys organization, they hire this
bum.
|

He'll get you to the playoffs this coming season but
then he'll destroy your team from within! He is a cancer
on a team... he will spread, he will destroy, he will
take all of you down with him! If one season in the
playoffs is all you want then by all means, bring him to
Dallas. Being an anti-cowboy fan, I would love to see
him come here! In the long run, it will be the death of
the team. Mwuhahahahah!!!

I will forever be a fan of the Cowboys on Sunday because
I'm a true fan. Do I disagree with some of the things
that happen with the team.....hell yes......But you know
what, I don't have any control of any of it. And yet I'm
still a LOYAL COWBOYS FAN.

Terrell Owens represents all that's bad in pro sports.
He's selfish, greedy, obnoxious, disrespectful and
arrogant. He thinks nothing of trashing his teams, his
coaches and, worst of all, his teammates. This marriage
will undoubtedly end in bitter, angry, ugly divorce, and
the Cowboys will be the worse for it, because it
probably will cost them the Tuna in the process.
|

He's just not worth it. And there's not a bigger jerk in
this world than Drew Rosenhaus (I'd call it a draw
between Drew & Terrell--jackass twins of a different
mother)
|
| March 17, 2006 10:57 p.m. |
Bad idea. Back to the bad character days. Maybe that's
the type person with whom Jerry is most comfortable.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:56 p.m. |
Owens is a great receiver however, he is also a cancer
in the locker room and hated by most fans. This is a
risky move for the Cowboys, and I'm surprised that the
Cowboys would make this move after he disrespected the
Cowboys at Texas Stadium.

A cancerous tumor is never a good thing!

Another nail in the Cowboys coffin. Does integrity no
longer fit in with the Jerry Jones / Bill Parcell's
business plan?
|
| March 17, 2006 10:54 p.m. |
If it is true, I've watched my last Cowboys game until
he's gone.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:53 p.m. |
This is ridiculous. Why take a chance on negative input?
Surely there are other wide receivers out there who
would be better team members who would also contribute
yardage and touchdowns to improve the Cowboy's
performance in 2006. T.O. is a bad decision.

Have the people at Valley Ranch lost their bloody minds?
|
| March 17, 2006 10:50 p.m. |
Might as well change the star from center field, and
change it to a picture of his face. Dallas didn't buy
him, he bought Dallas. What a shame.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:49 p.m. |
Hey I don't like T.O., but with that said this just
might be a marriage made in heaven. Remember everyone
said Jerry and Bill could not work together and they
have, so let's see what happens.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:47 p.m. |
Ridiculous!!!!! I had a hard enough time with Keyshawn...now
this. The Cowboys have died.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:41 p.m. |
Bring T O in and he can stand on the star after every
touchdown.
|
| March 17, 2006 10:39 p.m. |
If he doesn't through a crazy ego tantrum it could be a
good thing.
